Safe Zone!
My heart skipped a beat.
My parents really went to the safe zone! They really are there! But, but now the safe zone has fallen. Are my parents really dead?
I find this hard to accept.
"What should I do?" I asked myself.
I'm feeling panicked and scared.
Are my parents really dead in the safe zone? I asked myself that question again.
I held the note, at a loss.
I immediately came to my senses. "No, I can't jump to conclusions so soon. I have to see my parents' bodies first! Otherwise, I won't believe it!"
Although this idea is obsessive, at least it can comfort me.
I folded the note, took out my phone, removed the phone case, and clipped the note inside the phone case.
After doing all this, I looked longingly at my home, took a spare key from the cabinet and hid it in the meter box next to it, then closed the door and went downstairs.
I went back downstairs, and Lu Jing was still waiting for me in the car.
When she saw me return, she asked in surprise, "Why are you back so soon? Did you find your parents?"
"No, my parents left me a message saying they went to the safe zone," I said.
"The safe zone!" Lu Jing exclaimed in surprise. "But the safe zone isn't..."
“I know, but I don’t believe they’re dead until I see their bodies,” I said. “Jing, thank you for coming with me today. My business is done. Let’s go back.”
"Hmm." Lu Jing looked at me, her eyes full of worry.
