Chapter 595 Acquaintances
Hu Fei and I watched their car drive away, wondering what they were going to do.
Hu Fei said, "Do you think they might go to that primary school?"
I asked, puzzled, "You mean they plan to target that elementary school at night?"
Hu Fei nodded.
After thinking about it carefully, I realized that it was indeed possible. We heard Liu Tian say that he would give Zhang De two days to consider, but it was clear that Liu Tian was lying. If these people were really going to deal with that elementary school, given the school's situation, there was no way they could handle so many people.
“Let’s go take a look,” I said.
Hu Fei caught up with me and asked, "You're not thinking of going to help, are you?"
I said, "I didn't want to help, I just wanted to check the situation. I estimate they probably won't make a move tonight. Zhang De isn't stupid; if he really refuses Liu Tian, the elementary school is doomed."
Hu Fei said, "I have a feeling that Zhang De will definitely refuse."
I said, "You'll find out when you get there."
We ran downstairs, got in the car, and drove straight towards the elementary school.
The primary school wasn't far from here, and because I kept speeding up, I quickly got ahead of those cars and arrived near the primary school. Then Hu Fei and I grabbed our weapons and lay in ambush around the area. In just a few minutes, those cars appeared at the entrance of the primary school.
It was already evening, and the sky was gradually darkening. The arrival of these vehicles made the people in the primary school panic.
The people who got out of the car were none other than Liu Tian and his men, along with a few others.
What was different this time was that I saw the pistol in Liu Tian's hand, and I also saw that many of them had guns in their hands.
Hu Fei had obviously seen it too, and said, "It seems I misjudged; these people really do have guns."
I frowned and asked doubtfully, "So they didn't make a move in the morning, but just went back to get their guns? Isn't that a bit redundant?"
Hu Fei agreed with me: "Yes, if Liu Tian wanted the elementary school students to submit to them, he could have threatened them with a gun this morning. Why did he come once in the morning and now again? Isn't this a waste of time?"
I said, "Maybe he has something wrong with his head."
Hu Fei agreed with my opinion, "It's possible. Maybe this guy does have a problem with his brain, and his thought process is different from ours."
Zhang De quickly came out of the school, and Hu Fei and I were positioned so that we could see the expression on Zhang De's face.
When Zhang De saw the pistol in Liu Tian's hand, his expression changed completely.
Seeing this, Hu Fei said, "Well, it seems this Zhang De is seeing a pistol for the first time, he's so scared."
I said, "There's nothing we can do about it. This primary school doesn't have many weapons. If it did, we wouldn't be in such a passive position."
Hu Fei said, "But there's one thing I don't understand."
"What?"
Hu Fei said, "You're saying that this elementary school and the people in that office building weren't a recent development, right? I reckon they started gathering after the zombie outbreak. But why are the people in the office building only now making a move against this elementary school? Could it be that they didn't know about its existence before?"
I'm also a bit confused about this, but what exactly their relationship is doesn't seem to concern us.
I said, "Let's not think about this for now, let's see how they react."
Hu Fei stopped talking nonsense, and the two of us quietly watched the situation at the school gate.
After a short while, Liu Tian spoke up: "Zhang De, do you see what I have in my hand? A pistol. Have you seen it before? You haven't, have you?"
The way Liu Tian showed off was like a child excitedly receiving a new toy.
Zhang De's face was still very grim as he stared at Liu Tian and said, "What do you want? Didn't you say you'd give me two days to think it over? Not even a day has passed, and you're already coming to cause me trouble?"
Liu Tian nodded and said, "That's right, I had no choice. I told you this morning that I would give you two days to think it over, but when I got back, my boss told me that I had to make you submit today, or I would be finished. What could I do but help my boss settle things here? So don't blame me, I was forced into this situation."
“If you’re being honest, then please help us out and just give in. It would be better for all of us, wouldn’t you say? Although your lives might be a little tougher afterward, at least we’ll be family. People here can move to office buildings anytime; it’s safer than here, right?”
Zhang De's cheek twitched, seemingly unwilling, but there was nothing he could do. At this moment, the other party had a gun in his hand, clearly indicating that his fist was stronger than his. What could he do?
Nowadays, people's fear of zombies is actually quite small. As long as it's not a horde of zombies, people are generally not afraid. But it is precisely because of this that human nature is revealed in such situations, and sometimes, people are more terrifying than zombies.
Seeing that Zhang De remained silent, Liu Tian shook his head and pressed the gun directly against Zhang De's forehead. "Zhang De, don't be so stubborn. I've already given you a lot of face. If I really used force, your elementary school would have been destroyed long ago. Do you think your men would still be here?"
"So, give me an answer now. I'll give you five seconds to think it over. If you don't answer me after five seconds, believe me, I really will shoot you!"
Upon hearing Liu Tian's words, Hu Fei burst out laughing, "This idiot didn't even cock his pistol, yet he wanted to fire. Isn't that just brain-dead?"
I didn't respond to Hu Fei's words. To be honest, regardless of whether Liu Tian had loaded his gun or not, I was a little worried about Zhang De. To be honest, I still didn't want to see anyone die.
"One! Two..." Liu Tian began to count.
Zhang De was incredibly nervous; his forehead was instantly covered in sweat.
Hu Fei covered her mouth and chuckled to herself, "I'm not in the mood for that."
"Three, four, five!" Liu Tian counted to five and then asked, "Now that you've counted to five, give me an answer."
Zhang De opened his mouth, about to speak, when a voice came from inside the school.
"Stop!" It was a woman's voice.
The moment I heard that voice, I suddenly felt that it was somewhat familiar, and I felt like I had heard it somewhere before, but I just couldn't remember where.
A short while later, the owner of the voice came out of the elementary school. The person was holding a bow and arrow, with the arrowhead pointing at Liu Tian, who was holding a gun.
When I saw her, I was stunned.
I really didn't expect her to still be alive, and looking at the scars on her face, she seems to have been through a lot.
"Oh, a woman has arrived!" Hu Fei exclaimed in surprise.
