Chapter 606 The Besieged Supermarket
Listening to Lao Guang's slightly helpless words, I didn't know how to comfort him. There's nothing we can do about this kind of thing; who told them to have such a stubborn boss?
I stared at Liu Tian's back. He was probably still thinking about his next move. Judging from what Lao Guang said, he definitely wouldn't allow himself to go back empty-handed.
He must have a bottom line in his heart. As long as the number of deaths has not reached that bottom line, he will definitely not give up this operation.
Not long after, Liu Tian finished his cigarette, threw it on the ground and stomped it out. Then he turned around and came to everyone, saying, "Everyone, look at me. Stand up, all of you."
Everyone was originally sitting on the ground resting, but after he said that, they had no choice but to get up. Only Xiao Li, whose hand had been chopped off, remained unconscious, lying motionless on the ground.
Seeing everyone's condition, Liu Tian didn't say anything to comfort them. Instead, he said, "Let's rest for another ten minutes. After ten minutes, we'll leave here on time and head to the nearby supermarket. Once we find the supermarket, I'll take everything from inside, no matter what method I have to use."
"But what about Xiao Li?" someone asked at that moment.
Liu Tian said, "Xiao Li told him to stay here. If he survives, he will naturally go back on his own. If he doesn't survive, there's no need to keep him alive."
Hearing this, everyone felt a little disheartened.
Liu Tian then explained, "When we get the resources, do you think we'll still be able to take him with us? If you think we can, then take him. If you think he's just a burden, then leave him here and let him fend for himself!"
These cruel and heartless words reflect the true reality we face today.
No one wants to be abandoned, but sometimes that's just how it is. Once you fall behind, you're really behind, and no one will help you.
As I listened to Liu Tian's words, an idea suddenly came to mind.
My initial purpose in entering the office building was simply to take away their firearms, but it turns out that their firearms are impossible to steal. Therefore, if I want to dismantle the power of this office building, I have to use other methods. Perhaps I can try it on Liu Tian first. If it works, then I'll do it.
After Liu Tian finished speaking, he didn't say anything else, and everyone sat down on the ground to rest again.
Liu Tian looked at the situation outside, seemingly lost in thought.
I glanced at the people around me; they all seemed to have resigned themselves to their fate.
In their view, following Liu Tian out seemed to lead only to death.
But that's understandable. Lao Guang once told me that when Liu Tian led his men out before, half of them would die before they would return. Such a terrifying number is hard to understand. What is the point of Liu Tian doing this?
If everyone dies, who will help you collect supplies?
I don't understand this.
Liu Tian couldn't possibly be unaware of this principle, yet he still did it anyway.
There must be some reason for this.
After thinking about it carefully, I came to no conclusion.
Ten minutes passed quickly, and at Liu Tian's command, everyone got up and prepared to set off.
Xiao Li is still unconscious. I went over to check on him and found that he didn't have a fever, just simple weakness. I guess he's probably fine.
However, this is not certain, we can only wait and hope that the kid can survive.
"Set off."
After Liu Tian finished speaking, he rushed out of the area first.
There were a few scattered zombies outside the gate. Everyone rushed out and killed them all. I followed at the very back, closed the door, and went after them.
They ran very fast, mainly because Liu Tian ran very fast. He led the way, giving the people behind no time to catch up.
But the more you do that, the bigger the commotion becomes, and the more zombies you'll attract from the surrounding area.
Before long, they arrived at the entrance of a medium-sized supermarket. The supermarket occupied a lot of storefronts, and the door was locked, so it seemed that no one had ever gone in.
Looking through the glass window, the shelves inside were filled with goods.
Upon seeing the supermarket, Liu Tian excitedly exclaimed, "Quick, quick, let's go in and get our things!"
The lock on the supermarket entrance was rusty, but Liu Tian broke it instantly with a few chops of his knife, and everyone rushed inside to grab the items.
Some were so eager that they even started eating right away.
I stared at the surrounding roads and noticed that quite a few zombies had heard the commotion and were heading this way.
I glanced around the supermarket and saw that everyone was busy shopping, and no one cared about the zombies outside.
Upon closer reflection, since they all chose not to look, why should I care? So I went into the supermarket, closed the door, locked the latches, and started shopping with them.
Liu Tian was incredibly excited looking at all the things in the supermarket.
But just then...
Bang!
The first zombie walked over and crashed into the glass window, attracting everyone's attention.
Instantly, the entire supermarket fell silent as everyone turned to look outside. They then saw a number of zombies staggering towards them, some even running straight over and crashing into the supermarket door with a thud.
Fortunately, the door was sturdy and was not broken, but the glass on it still developed cracks.
Everyone panicked when they saw this.
Liu Tian hurriedly shouted, "Quick, quick, pack everything up! Everyone take as much as they can. I'll go see if there's a way out at the back."
Then, Liu Tian ran towards the warehouse.
Warehouses usually have a back door. After I filled a basket with food, I followed Liu Tian into the warehouse.
The warehouse was dimly lit because there were no flashlights, with only a little light coming in through two small windows not far away.
I followed behind Liu Tian and saw him find the back door, then suddenly slammed it open.
As soon as he went out, I immediately heard the roars of many zombies coming from outside the back door.
A short while later, I saw him decisively retreat.
After that, it seemed like countless zombies were ramming against the back door.
I asked, "Are there many zombies outside?"
Liu Tian nodded and said, "Yes, let's go back quickly, there are too many zombies outside."
We went back into the supermarket and closed the warehouse door.
As for the area outside the supermarket's main entrance, I saw that the number of zombies outside was increasing rapidly. They had basically covered all the glass windows. If there were any more, the windows would definitely break and the zombies would come in, and everyone would be dead.
What should I do? I'm a little anxious.
