Chapter 179 Fei Lichao!

(It's the fourth update, and today's update is finished. It's really not easy these past few days. I've been writing at least 8,000 words a day. But don't worry, this kind of update will continue for a long time. By the way, please give me some recommendation votes.)

In a daze, half a month has passed since I arrived at the safe house.

I've gone through a lot of pain in the past two weeks, but thankfully, I've made it through.

Now, I basically don't have any more episodes. Even if I do, the pain is minimal, and I can get through it by just enduring it for a little while. But at this point, I've only succeeded in quitting halfway.

The next step is to persevere.

If my willpower were weak, I probably would have pounced on him the moment I saw him. So for the past two weeks, during my withdrawal process, I've been watching Hu Fei smoke, but I've never asked him for one. He even offered me one, but I never accepted it.

I must make this willpower a habit so that I can completely break free from it.

Meanwhile, I started exercising the day before yesterday.

Running up and down stairs every day is a strenuous exercise that can greatly improve lung capacity.

Because of ****, my body has basically collapsed, and the results of Fei Lichao's previous training are long gone, so I have to start training all over again, and this kind of training makes me feel crazy.

The world today is very boring.

Unlike before, when there were movies, TV series, games, and all sorts of entertainment, now our only fun is playing Monopoly on the living room floor or curling up in a corner to read a book.

Now, whenever I feel bored, I read a book; it's almost become a habit.

When I was interning at the hospital, I always felt like there wasn't enough time. I wished I could stretch every second into two. Now, the whole world feels empty. If I don't find something to do, I don't know what to do.

These past few days, besides exercising, I've been reading. I've already finished reading quite a few books, including many management books. I basically read them word by word. I originally wanted to read slowly, but I still finished them.

...

A few days later, Labor Day arrived.

When Hu Fei mentioned May Day, I just laughed.

It used to be considered a short holiday, but what meaning does it have now?

My body has almost fully recovered.

So, I pulled Sister Jing and Hu Fei into the living room and said, "Sister Jing, Hu Fei, I've been thinking about it, and I think I'm almost fully recovered, so it's time for me to go out for a bit."

Jingjie looked at me with worried eyes, "Are you sure you're alright? Should you rest for another week?"

I smiled wryly and said, "Sister Jing, I haven't had an attack for a long time, and you've seen me exercising these past few days, so it's almost over."

Hu Fei chimed in, "Sister Jing, he'll be fine."

These past few days, after Hu Fei and Sister Jing got to know each other better, Hu Fei started calling Sister Jing the same way I do.

Sister Jing looked at me and shook her head. "Okay, you can go out, but we'll go out together. And once we're out, you can't act alone. If you encounter any danger, let Hu Fei and I handle it. If you agree, then let's go out now."

I smiled and said, "Okay, no problem, I'll listen to you, Sister Jing."

Sister Jing chuckled, then took the equipment out of the room. I saw that there was only a machete and two pistols.

Hu Fei has his own axe, so he has nothing to worry about.

I picked up the pistol and weighed it in my hand. It had been a long time since I had held a gun, and my hands were a little rusty.

We retrieved a lot of firearms from the safe zone, and Zhou Liang took most of them.

As for my own weapons, Huo Cheng took them away.

Jingjie only had two pistols. She handed me one and then gave me two magazines full of bullets. "I know you're a good shot, so take it."

"Um."

Hu Fei then asked, "Excuse me, what are we going out to do now? Are we looking for something to eat?"

Jing and I exchanged a glance, then looked at Hu Fei and said, "Find someone."

Hu Fei suddenly realized and asked, "Looking for your former companions?"

"Yes, we'll look for our former companions. As for whether we can find them, that depends on luck."

Ten minutes later, we were all ready and officially set off.

Because Hu Fei's Harley was so loud, we didn't let him drive it and instead walked to find it.

Hu Fei was puzzled. Why walk? Wouldn't that be too slow?

I explained, "Because we each chose a place as our safe house back then, and the place we're living in now is the safe house that Sister Jing chose. My safe house is quite close to Sister Jing's; it's in the warehouse of a digital store across the street behind this little house. So, I think the others will definitely choose a place nearby as their safe house as well."

Hu Fei understood.

We walked out of the residential area, with Hu Fei and Sister Jing walking ahead. If there were any zombies ahead, they would be the ones to deal with them.

I followed behind the two of them, with basically nothing to do.

And I also need some time to adjust.

Having not been out for more than half a month, I'm still a bit out of sorts, so it's necessary to get used to it.

After walking for more than ten minutes, we arrived at a commercial street.

We plan to search here. Hu Fei is acting alone; he's very strong, so we don't need to worry about him much.

Jing and I searched shop by shop, trying to find any clues.
