Zhao Sihai came in carrying a shovel, storming in aggressively and saying, "Whoever wants to take them away today will have to kill me first."
The captain was completely bewildered by Zhao Sihai's actions. Normally, Zhao Sihai obeyed the captain's orders, so why did he suddenly change his ways? This wasn't his style.
"Uncle Sihai, this... what are you doing? You've always been able to distinguish right from wrong, how could this happen?"

"Eunuch, do you think that if you take the blame for them, they can escape punishment?"

The captain understood what Zhao Sihai meant. He was not sincere in saving the Liu Jinlong brothers, but was deliberately doing this to show Wang Xiaolan.
"Uncle Sihai, just because they broke into a private house and committed a crime, they should all go to jail. I have to take them away. If you have anything to say, let's go to the team headquarters tomorrow to discuss it!"

Early in the morning, there was a knock on the door.
Wang Xiaolan was sleepy and got out of bed very reluctantly. As soon as she opened the door, Huang Jinhua knelt in front of her with a plop, catching her off guard.
"Please, let these two brothers go!"
Wang Xiaolan looked at Huang Jinhua's haggard face and knew that she had not slept all night and had lost her usual domineering attitude.
Wang Xiaolan frowned and said, "It's no use coming to me for this matter. The person is not with me. You should go find the captain."
Huang Jinhua hugged Wang Xiaolan's legs and looked at her with pleading eyes, saying, "Jin Hai is still a student. If he goes to jail, his future will be ruined. For the sake of our relationship, please let them go!"
Wang Xiaolan felt disgusted when she saw Huang Jinhua's protective look. She couldn't let go of the bullying she had suffered at Huang Jinhua during these days and the suffering the original owner had endured.
"Xiaolan! Although we have separated, I am still your father-in-law and she is still your mother-in-law. Please help her! I am begging you, okay?" Zhao Sihai was wearing a coat and said as he helped the heartbroken Huang Jinhua up.
Wang Xiaolan thought to herself, this Zhao Sihai, Huang Jinhua usually bullied the original owner and her son, and never stood up to say a word of justice, but he actually cared so much about his two disappointing stepsons, which made her very angry.
"Don't waste your time here with me. Go find the captain. I can't do anything for you." Then he turned and went into the house.
Zhao Sihai reluctantly helped Huang Jinhua leave.
As soon as the two of them stepped into the house, Huang Jinhua suddenly remembered something, turned around and ran out, leaving a message.
"I have a plan."
Zhao Sihai was confused by Huang Jinhua's sudden surprise.
Wang Xiaolan and her family were having breakfast when there was another knock on the door. Wang Xiaolan thought it was Huang Jinhua again, so she motioned Lai Di to open the door as she didn't want to see her.
Lai Di opened the door and saw Xia Wei standing at the door and asked, "Sister, is my sister-in-law here?"
"Yes, come in!"
When Xia Wei saw Wang Xiaolan was eating, he swallowed the words back.
Wang Xiaolan took an egg from the bowl and put it into Xia Wei's hand and said, "You haven't had breakfast yet, right? Do you need me for something?"
Xia Wei opened his mouth, hesitated for a long time, and finally said, "Sister-in-law, I want to ask you a favor." Then he knelt in front of Wang Xiaolan.
Wang Xiaolan quickly helped Xia Wei up: "Xia Wei, if you want to treat me as your sister-in-law, don't be so polite. It's too formal."
"I'm apologizing to you on behalf of my two brothers. This is their fault. What they did to my mother was indeed wrong. I couldn't stop them, so I can only say sorry and apologize to you." He bowed as he spoke.
"Did you write that note?"
Xia Wei nodded and said, "I don't want to see anything happen to you."
Wang Xiaolan looked at Xia Wei, who was only six or seven years old, yet so sensible, and sighed, "I never thought that a woman as vicious as Huang Jinhua could give birth to a sensible child."
In the original owner's memory, this child was kind-hearted. Whenever he had something delicious, he would always secretly give it to Dabao. Now that this child came to beg for mercy, he had to give him some face.
Wang Xiaolan looked at him and said, "What do you want your sister-in-law to do?"
"These two people must be punished. Let them know they made a mistake and must pay the price for their actions." He slowed down his tone and said, "Can we not send them to the police station?"
Wang Xiaolan thought that there was no surveillance in this era, the knife marks on the bedding could not prove anything, and there were no eyewitnesses at the scene of the fight.
Liu Jinhai is under the age of fourteen and is a minor, so he cannot be charged with any crime. Liu Jinlong will only be detained for a few days at most.

Wang Xiaolan stood at the door and watched the three of them leave, then went back into the house, brought out a basin of clothes, and went to the well to wash them.
"Lihan's wife is washing clothes!"
Wang Xiaolan turned her head and saw that it was the captain, followed by a strange man and Huang Jinhua. She quickly stood up and invited the captain and others to sit down in the yard.
According to the team leader, the stranger was Shi Huaishui, the director of the brigade's revolutionary committee. He was the one that the villagers said had an unclear relationship with Huang Jinhua.
This man is of medium build and looks very kind, but he is a ruthless character. Huang Jinhua is arrogant and domineering in the village, most likely because she relies on his power.
