"Could it be her? Judging from her methods, she has done it more than once." Wang Xiaolan said thoughtfully.
Master Zhao Er was deep in thought, smoking a cigarette, and said, "Hearing you say that, I suddenly remembered something, but I don't know whether I should tell you about it."
"Grandpa, you say."
"Zhaodi's grandfather said that Zhaodi's mother had the same strange illness. The barefoot doctor in the brigade said it was a cold and gave her two pills. But before she could take the medicine, she died. My grandfather also suspected poisoning."
Second Grandma Zhao took over and said, "I still remember that when I went to see her, she was shaking all over like Dabao. I watched her die with my own eyes. Lai Di was only two years old at the time!"
At this time, Grandma Zhao was already in tears and choking with sobs.
Mr. Zhao took over what the Second Mistress said and said, "From all indications, this person is..." He only said half of it and stopped.
Wang Xiaolan nodded and said, "This is just a guess."
She pulled Zhaodi to sit next to her and said, "We can't alert the enemy. I will investigate this matter."
After Huang Jinhua spread the rumor, it quickly spread throughout the village, confirming Wang Xiaolan's tough life. Having achieved her goal, she returned home, beaming and humming a little tune.
"Old man, I'm so happy today."
"What's the matter? Did you find a treasure?"
"This is more exciting than finding a treasure. Something happened next door."
"Is it Dabao's business?"
"Yes!" Huang Jinhua nodded.
"You're so happy, could it be?"
"Just a little trick." Huang Jinhua winked at Zhao Sihai and said mysteriously.
Zhao Sihai was startled. Just as he was about to smoke, the pipe in his hand suddenly slipped to the ground. He lowered his voice and asked, "Are you using this old thing from more than ten years ago?"
"Yeah." Huang Jinhua nodded.
"Aren't you afraid of bad things?" Zhao Sihai lowered his voice and blamed.
"This is called keeping quiet, neither god nor ghost aware." Huang Jinhua showed a smug smile at the corner of her mouth.
"That woman next door is not an easy person to deal with. You'd better be careful."
"Don't worry, I'm sure she won't be able to stay in this village any longer."
"real?"
"Of course."
Huang Jinhua pointed at the house and said, "This house, the money, and yes, the treasure are all ours."
"It's been a few years, and you're still thinking about that? I'm not sure the old man would put that thing in her hands."
"Are you sure she has it?"
"How do you know?"
"My intuition."
Huang Jinhua was feeling a bit restless at home. She said to Zhao Sihai, who was smoking, "No, I have to go out and find out if that little guy is dead."
"I advise you not to go out. Whether there is something wrong or not, they should be back soon."
Huang Jinhua ignored Zhao Sihai's dissuasion and insisted on coming out. She didn't dare to go far, but just wandered in the yard, looking out from time to time. Time passed by minute by minute, but the village was silent. Her heart felt like it was being scratched by a cat's claws, and she was anxious.
"Jinhua, come into the house and cook, don't stay outside." Zhao Sihai in the house kept urging.
Huang Jinhua entered the house reluctantly.
Zhao Sihai's voice came from inside the house: "You! Calm down! Don't run around like a headless fly."
Xia Wei came back from school and just heard this.
"Mom, what's scurrying?"
"It's okay, just say it casually. I'll go cook."
Wang Xiaolan and her family returned home talking and laughing.
Dabao's baby voice came from outside the window.
"Mom, I want some pancakes..."
Huang Jinhua was preparing food in the kitchen. She was startled when she heard this and the bowl in her hand fell to the ground with a bang.
Zhao Sihai heard the sound of a bowl being smashed and rushed into the kitchen. He saw Huang Jinhua standing there stiffly like a wooden pillar. He ran over and nudged Huang Jinhua, saying, "What's wrong? Are you possessed?"
Huang Jinhua recovered from Zhao Sihai's question and asked, "Did you hear that just now?"
"I heard it." Zhao Sihai replied indifferently.
"That guy isn't dead?"
Zhao Sihai nodded and quickly made a gesture to her to keep quiet, indicating that she should speak more quietly so that no one could hear.
"Is it because the quantity is not enough? That's impossible!" Huang Jinhua said to herself.
The two were talking, and Xia Wei asked in confusion: "Mom, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
Huang Jinhua quickly changed her words and said, "Nothing."
Huang Jinhua quickly scooped a bowl of rice from the pot and handed it to Xia Wei: "Go and eat."
Xia Wei picked up the bowl of rice and turned to leave.
Huang Jinhua quickly closed the kitchen door. The two of them were whispering to each other again. Xia Wei, who was standing outside the door, did not leave, but put his head against the door, trying to listen to what they were saying.
"Xia Wei, what are you doing here?" Liu Jinlong asked as he came in from outside.
Xia Wei, holding the bowl and lowering his head, did not answer his question and just walked away.
Liu Jinlong pushed open the door and said, "What are you two doing in there? You don't even pay attention to what you say. Xia Wei is listening outside." Then he closed the door.
…
At night, Huang Jinhua tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. Zhao Sihai, who was lying beside her, did not move, but he was not asleep either.
"Don't turn it over."
"Boss, aren't you asleep yet?" Huang Jinhua quickly lay on Zhao Sihai and asked.
"How can I sleep if you don't get things done?"
"I just can't figure it out. Once this poison takes effect, it will definitely kill me."
