Just as Wang Xiaolan and Zhao Lihan were talking, the captain hurriedly found Wang Xiaolan and Zhao Lihan.
"Lihan, sister-in-law, the Zhao clan members are making trouble. They say they won't allow Zhao Sihai to be buried in the cemetery, saying it will tarnish the image of their Zhao family. What do you think we should do?"
Zhao Lihan showed a hint of sneer on his face: "They are not qualified."
Wang Xiaolan had never seen such a cold smile from him. There was a hint of chill in this smile that made people feel a chill on their backs.
He tugged at his clothes, as if getting ready to go out.
Wang Xiaolan quickly grabbed Zhao Lihan and said, "There are so many guests at Lihan's house. It's inconvenient for you to go. Let me handle it!"
After saying that, he winked at the captain.
Captain Xiao said, "Li Han, you have so many guests at home, you should let your sister-in-law handle it!"
Before waiting for a reply, Wang Xiaolan followed the captain out of the yard.
Zhao Sihai's old house.
A group of people surrounded Mr. and Mrs. Zhao Er, making a lot of noise and demanding an explanation from them.
A man about the same age as Zhao Sihai questioned, "What right do you have to decide where my brother should be buried? He is the blood of the Zhao family. He cannot be buried in a public cemetery."
This man was called Zhao Sanhai, and he was Zhao Sihai's fifth-generation cousin. He was very jealous when he saw that Master Zhao Er had no children and lived a better life than him, so he took advantage of this incident to make some trouble.
However, none of his sons were capable of anything. The village had recruited workers several times, but none met the requirements. He was furious about this and was always looking for an opportunity to embarrass Wang Xiaolan and Zhao Lihan. This was the perfect opportunity to force them to come out and negotiate with him.
Another man, who was about the same age as Zhao Lihan, said, "Did you get a lot of bribes from Zhao Lihan? We both have the surname Zhao, so why are you the only ones who enjoy such good treatment, while my father doesn't?"
The person who said this was Zhao Sanhai's eldest son, Zhao Ziqian, a 28-year-old uneducated fellow who was Shi Bulian's sworn brother. When Shi Bulian went to Wang Xiaolan's house and tried to force her to marry him, this man was one of his accomplices.
Just as they were arguing with Master Zhao Er, a voice came from behind them.
"Zhao Ziqian, come at me if you have the guts. It's not that cruel to cause trouble to two old men."
