When Wang Xiaolan and her family heard the sound, they immediately opened the door and went into the courtyard, only to see Mrs. Zhang, her face pale and panicked, crying out loudly.
As soon as she saw Wang Xiaolan, she knelt down on the ground and grabbed Wang Xiaolan.
Wang Xiaolan was startled by her sudden initiative and took several steps back. She thought that she was arrogant and domineering in the morning, but now she looked so pitiful. She didn't know what she was up to.
Zeng Cheng was worried that his sister would be harmed or blackmailed, so he quickly pulled Wang Xiaolan behind him and used his body to block her view.
Zeng Cheng widened his eyes and asked the other party angrily: "What do you want to do?" His voice was full of severity and warning, hoping to scare away this malicious person.
At this time, Mrs. Zhang seemed to have not heard anything at all. She ignored Zeng Cheng's scolding and still held Wang Xiaolan's hand.
"You are a doctor, please help me, save my daughter Wenwen..."
Wang Xiaolan thought: Isn’t your daughter fine?
At this time, everyone was talking about it.
"Just now, I saw her daughter jumping around. What are you talking about, Sister Zhang?"
"Mrs. Zhang, you scolded the Zeng family this morning, but you forgot about it so quickly. Now you're shamelessly begging them for help."
"Yeah! If it were me, I wouldn't bother paying attention to her."
When Mrs. Zhang heard the discussions among the crowd, her face turned very ugly, but she still begged, "Doctor Wang, please, go see my daughter!" Her voice was tearful and her eyes were full of anxiety and worry.
Someone in the crowd said, "This person changes her attitude faster than turning the pages of a book. I really admire her."
Mrs. Zhang didn't care what everyone said about her. She became more and more anxious. She pleaded again: "Doctor Wang, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have scolded your Zeng family. Please save my daughter!" Her tears slid down her cheeks and dripped onto the ground.
Wang Xiaolan looked at her in confusion and said nothing.
A woman in the crowd said angrily, "Doctor Xiao Wang, don't go. I'm afraid she's up to some trick again. A few days ago, she tricked my daughter into giving me a piece of candy in exchange for an egg. When my daughter heard there was candy, she ran back home and gave her an egg. Can you guess what she gave her?"
Everyone asked curiously, "What is it?"
The woman gritted her teeth and said, "She gave my daughter a fake candy covered in toothpaste but filled with chicken shit. Do you think she's immoral?"
When everyone heard this, they all showed expressions of surprise and anger.
Someone cursed: "This woman is too much! No matter what, she can't give chicken shits! How can she do such a heartless thing! She can fool anyone, but she has to fool a three or four-year-old child!"
Others said: "What a wicked woman! She should be punished!"
"The woman from the Zhang family is so wicked!"
Everyone was talking about it and condemning Mrs. Zhang's behavior.
At this moment, a kind-hearted woman in the crowd of onlookers warned him, "Doctor Wang, don't listen to her. She might be up to something bad and looking for an opportunity to blackmail you."
Mrs. Zhang usually tells lies all the time, but no one believes what she says now.
When Mrs. Zhang heard these discussions, she felt that they were very unfavorable to her and immediately panicked. She hurriedly grabbed the corner of Doctor Wang's clothes and cried, "Doctor Wang, I didn't lie to you. Please save my daughter!"
Wang Xiaolan, facing the kind words of advice, was filled with hesitation and conflict. She knew she couldn't take any risks, but she felt pity for the grief-stricken and tearful Zhang Saozi. Yet, she remained hesitant, unsure whether to believe what Zhang Saozi said. These conflicting emotions put Wang Xiaolan in a difficult position.
As a doctor, it is her duty to save lives and heal the wounded, and she cannot give up treating patients because of personal feelings.
So, she took a deep breath, tried to stay calm and rational, and said, "Get up! Stop crying here. Is your daughter really sick?"
Mrs. Zhang wiped the tears from her face, nodded, and said, "I am really sick. If I tell a lie, I will be struck by lightning and die a miserable death."
Seeing her swear such a vicious oath, Wang Xiaolan believed her and said, "Then you, take me to see it."
When Mrs. Zhang heard that Wang Xiaolan agreed, she quickly got up from the ground, grabbed Wang Xiaolan's hand and ran home.
At this time, everyone was afraid that Wang Xiaolan would be blackmailed, so they followed them.
As they reached the door, they were met with a strong, bloody odor. The smell was nauseating, as if the entire air were stained red with blood. Everyone following behind them covered their noses, not daring to take another step forward.
Wang Xiaolan frowned, a little confused, but subconsciously pulled a mask from her pocket and put it on. She gently pinched the edges of the mask, unfolded it, and covered her mouth and nose, making sure there were no gaps. Then, she followed Mrs. Zhang into the house.
When they passed the living room, they saw at a glance that the table was still filled with dishes that had not been cleared away. The dishes were piled together in a mess, as if they had just experienced a fierce "battle".
The ground was in a mess, with garbage and debris scattered everywhere, which made people frown.
As soon as Wang Xiaolan walked into the bedroom, she saw her daughter lying on the bed. Her face was pale, her lips were purple, she was having difficulty breathing, and there was a large pool of blood on the bed. Her condition was very critical.
Seeing this, Wang Xiaolan hurried forward and scanned her body with her psychic eyes, and found a black mass in her abdomen.
