Volume Two: The Fierce-Toothed and Clawed Advisor, Chapter 129

"Young lady, could you please give me a bottle of water?"

As I was observing him, the old man spoke first.

"Grandpa, would you like some water?" I asked.

The old man nodded: "I've just arrived here and I'm not very familiar with the area. Thank you for your help, young lady."

Out of politeness, I took out a bottle of mineral water from inside the house because the other party was an elder.

I handed the bottled water to the old man and said, "Sir, are you here looking for someone?"

The old man took the bottle of mineral water, opened the cap, took a sip, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and then said:

"I smell the scent of fire spirit. This young lady has a bright future ahead of her."

My eyes widened in shock. This old man could see the fire spirit residing in my body with just one glance!

"How...how did you know?"

The old man smiled and said, "I can smell its aroma, but it's still too immature."

"There must have been a fierce battle here, little girl. Aren't you scared?"

The old man's gaze fell on me; his eyes were so deep that it was impossible to discern his motives.

I didn't quite understand what the old man was trying to say, but I still shook my head:

"Well, I'm a little scared, but I have no way out, and being scared won't help."

"There are too few paths I can choose. I feel that I belong here."

The old man smiled and shook his head, saying calmly, "No, no, no, you don't belong here. This technique can help you grow, but it can also prevent you from advancing any further."

"But soon, your fate will return to normal. I just hope you stay true to yourself."

"The winds of the times will blow away the weak, little girl, your future is going to be tough."

After the old man finished speaking, he took another sip of water.

As for me, I kept thinking about the old man's last words: Is the future going to be difficult?

Yes, ever since I formally became an apprentice, every step I've taken has been on the edge of life and death, yet I've always managed to survive. Even I find it hard to believe, as if heaven is on my side.

Given the opponent's profound strength, he must be a reclusive master of Taoism.

I said to the old man, "Senior, please wait a moment. I'll go and call my master and the others. You can contact them if you need anything."

The old man nodded and turned to look out the window.

I told my master about the old man, and he was also a little puzzled when he heard it, saying that there was no such old man in the association.

As we walked into the corridor, my master paused slightly, stunned.

"Master?" I called out to Master, somewhat puzzled.

The master looked somewhat surprised and asked the old man, "Master? Is that you?"

I stared wide-eyed. What was going on? Was this old man my advisor?

The old man turned around with his hands behind his back, and smiled slightly when he saw his master: "Oh? Hanyun? Long time no see."

The master's eyes were filled with complex emotions, and his voice trembled as he said, "Yes, it has been ten years."

"How have you been lately, sir?"

The advisor walked over with a smile and patted his master on the shoulder: "Good lad, you've become even more mature after all these years."

"Don't worry about this old man. After all, I'm used to traveling all over the country. I had a feeling that something big was going to happen, so I came back to take a look. I didn't expect the move to be so big."

The master sighed, and then said:

"This time, the Heaven and Earth Church has made it clear that they want to start a war. They must have made thorough preparations. I wonder what extraordinary things they will bring to the world this time."

The master helped the advisor walk into the lounge.

"My senior brother is here too. He'll probably be startled to see you."

The advisor stroked his beard and said, "Yun Tian is here too. Looks like this trip wasn't in vain."

"This little girl is actually your apprentice. It seems you have a good eye for people, just like me."

The master smiled but did not speak.

I also came to the other side of the advisor and helped him up.

“Master, my master often mentions you to me, saying that you are one of the pinnacles of Taoism. Today I am finally able to meet you.”

After hearing this, the advisor laughed and said, "This young lady has quite the sweet tongue."

"However, I can hardly be considered the pinnacle of Taoism. In the path of Taoist arts, who dares to say that they are the pinnacle?"

The master chimed in, "If you, sir, are not even at the pinnacle, then how many people in Taoism can be ranked?"

The advisor said meaningfully, "Do you know the people who founded the Taoist Association?"

"The organizer of this association is Zhang Daocheng, a former candidate for Celestial Master of Longhu Mountain!"

“His cultivation level is probably much stronger than mine.”

"But he gave up his identity as a Celestial Master and founded the Taoist Association, and many of his former fellow disciples followed him."

"But that's been too long. Many fellow Daoists are no longer here. We should say that he is the pinnacle of Daoist arts."

"That old guy must have expected me to come back, that's why he's so calm."

The three of them entered the lounge, and the people inside also turned their attention to them.

When my senior uncle saw us come in, especially when he saw my advisor, he immediately stood up and walked over quickly.

"Master, you're back!"

The advisor nodded and replied, "Yes, I just got back. I didn't expect to see the two of you."

The senior apprentice also held the master's hand tightly, his tone full of concern:

"You haven't aged a bit in all these years."

"Did you come back this time to foresee something?"
