Volume 1 Hidden Conspiracy: Dream Interpretation Chapter 004

I ignored Xixi and instead asked the middle-aged man:

"Uncle, how much does it cost for a fortune telling?"

"And what else can you see?"

The middle-aged man looked at me, his eyes showing no sign of flinching:

"A fortune telling costs one dollar; if I'm wrong, you don't have to pay."

"You can choose to have your fortune told, or you can choose to have your calligraphy inscribed."

"It's all one dollar."

"As for what I can see, hehe, I can see anything in this world."

"How about it, want to give it a try?"

Xixi became anxious at this point:

"Xiao Xi, you don't actually believe what he said, do you? These days, aren't all fortune tellers and palm readers just charlatans?"

I looked at Xixi and gestured for her to wait a moment.

Seeing how determined I was, Xixi stopped trying to pull me away.

As if in a fit of pique, she stood to the side and said, "I'd like to see if you can figure anything out."

I walked up to the middle-aged man and said, "Then I'll trouble you to take a look at me, sir."

The middle-aged man smiled faintly: "Alright, young lady, open your palm and let me take a look."

Upon hearing this, I slowly opened my palm, feeling somewhat hesitant, unsure of what the other person would do.

"Young lady, I have a general understanding of your face and palm lines."

"I suppose your academic journey has been quite smooth so far, right? But that only lasted until this year."

"Actually, I didn't just randomly ask someone to read your fortune. I noticed that you've been having a lot of bad luck lately, so I called you over."

Xixi burst out laughing: "Hahaha, you still say you're not a con artist, even your script is exactly the same."

"At least memorize the script properly! Everyone else is supposed to be plagued by bad luck, even 'black luck'? That's hilarious, hahaha!!"

"Xiao Xi, you still believe in this kind of person? Let's go, let's go!"

I looked at the middle-aged man with disdain, trying to glean something from his expression.

But he was calmer than I expected; his expression hardly changed, and he still had a smile on his face.

He slowly took out a pen from his pocket, then a piece of paper: "Would you like me to write something?"

I took the paper and pen with some skepticism and wrote the word "surprise" on it.

The middle-aged man took the words I had written and began to mutter to himself:

"The character '惊' (jīng) signifies disordered qi, and should be addressed through the principle of harmonious qi."

He glanced at the sky and said, "The midday sun's blazing light disrupts the Qi, while the night's gloomy darkness brings harmony to the Qi."

"When you fall asleep at night, your breath becomes smooth but you are easily startled by your dreams. Young lady, you actually want to interpret your dreams, right?"

Hearing the middle-aged man's words, my eyes widened suddenly, and my heart skipped a beat:

Is it a coincidence?

Indeed, my real purpose was to interpret dreams.

The other party was equally certain, so it seems things aren't that simple.

In addition, what he said before was not without reason.

My academic journey has indeed been incredibly smooth, but I don't quite understand the part about "only this year".

Even Xixi couldn't help but gape: "Wow!"

The middle-aged man waited for my answer with a smile.

I calmed myself down and nodded: "You guessed right, uncle, I am here to interpret your dream."

"But I really don't want to think about it..."

The uncle waved his hand and said with a smile, "It's alright. Physiognomy is not divination. Fate is predetermined by heaven."

As for what you dreamed about, it's actually all in your physiognomy and your writing, but...

After saying that, he glanced at Xixi next to him.

Xixi naturally understood what I meant and looked at me with a worried expression.

I understood what the middle-aged man meant and nodded.

Seeing that I nodded, Xixi understood and walked to a short distance away to wait.

I turned to the middle-aged man and said, "If you've figured something out, just say it."

The middle-aged man slowly spoke: "Young lady, the love lines on your palm are disordered and intersect in the middle. In addition, the character '惊' (jing, meaning shock) you wrote suggests that you must have dreamed that something happened to your parents."

"Waking up from a dream requires a huge impact, and the person who had the dream will bring the feelings back to the dreamer."

"In other words, you must have dreamt that your parents jumped off a building!"

Upon hearing the uncle's explanation, the scene from my dream immediately appeared in my mind.

Yes, I really did dream about my parents, and in front of me, they jumped off a building that was more than ten stories high.

But after the middle-aged man's analysis, I still couldn't help but tremble inside.

A sudden ringing in my ears, and my head felt like it was about to split open, with excruciating pain.

My legs started to go weak, and I was about to fall to the ground.

The middle-aged man quickly grabbed my arm and pressed a point on my forehead.

That's when I gradually got better.

I looked at the middle-aged man anxiously:

"Since you know what I dreamed about, you must know its meaning!"

"Tell me, what should I do? What can I do?"

Will things that happen in dreams become reality?

The middle-aged man remained expressionless: "Young lady, calm down."

"By the way, didn't you pay first?"

"One yuan for a fortune reading, one yuan for an inscription."

"Two yuan, small business, no credit."

Upon hearing the middle-aged man's words, I quickly took out my wallet and stuffed the loose two thousand yuan inside into his hand.

"Uncle, here's all this money for you. Tell me what I should do."

The uncle looked at the money in his hand, counted it, and casually took out two yuan and put it in his pocket.

Then, I put the rest of the money back into my wallet.
