I slowly followed the waiter's instructions and arrived at private room number 306.
There were already quite a few classmates waiting in the private room, and they greeted me when I came in.
Li Ying waved to me and said, "Chen Xi, you're here."
I saw Li Ying waving, so I walked towards her.
But then I saw that there was another person sitting next to her.
The man's name was Liu Mingwei. He pursued me during the university semester, but I didn't know him well, so I rejected him.
Later, I gradually heard that his character wasn't very good and that he had had quite a few girlfriends, but it was just hearsay, so I didn't pay much attention to it, since it had nothing to do with me.
Later, during his sophomore year, he got together with my roommate, Li Ying.
Since it was someone else's business, I didn't get involved.
But now, when I see Liu Mingwei again, I still feel some resistance and aversion.
After all, people who treat relationships like entertainment are not worth my time to understand.
When Liu Mingwei saw me coming, he put his arm around Li Ying and looked at me with a smile: "I didn't expect Chen Xi to come. It seems that our Xiao Ying really didn't lie."
I smiled awkwardly and replied, "After all, we've known each other for over two years, so it's only natural to come and get together with my classmates."
Li Ying then asked, "Chen Xi, why didn't you come to class later?"
"I heard from your advisor that you have applied for a leave of absence, but I don't know the details."
"Are you sick or something?"
I shook my head: "No, I have some things to take care of myself."
"It's just that going to school is a bit inconvenient."
Upon hearing this, Li Ying became even more curious: "What is it? Why are you making it so mysterious?"
"I remember you were planning to take the postgraduate entrance exam, weren't you?"
"If you miss classes now, it will affect your postgraduate entrance exam in the future, right?"
I smiled calmly and said, "I... I'm not planning to take the postgraduate entrance exam anymore."
Li Ying's mouth dropped open: "Huh? You usually work so hard, how come you're planning to give up?"
"What exactly is going on? You're keeping it from us."
I smiled and waved my hand, saying, "Sorry, I really can't say."
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, Liu Mingwei tried to smooth things over: "It's alright, Chen Xi must have her reasons for not wanting to talk about it. Come on, since we're already here, let's have a drink!"
I looked at the glass of wine that Liu Mingwei handed me and quickly refused, "Oh, I'm sorry, I can't drink much."
"I'll pour some myself."
Then, I picked up the lowest alcohol content cocktail from the table and poured it into a glass.
With Liu Mingwei's encouragement, everyone finished their drinks.
Inside the private room, everyone chatted idly, and I chatted with a few of my classmates who were close to me.
Unconsciously, I looked in the direction of Li Ying.
But I discovered that Li Ying and Liu Mingwei were also staring at me at the same time.
As if sensing my gaze, it shifted its eyes away.
I couldn't help but wonder, was it just my imagination?
I didn't pay much attention to it and continued eating and chatting with my classmates.
Suddenly, I felt a wave of dizziness and my body became weak.
The sudden discomfort made me even more confused.
I'm not actually incapable of drinking, I just don't want to.
I can easily drink a pound of baijiu (Chinese liquor) with an alcohol content of around 50 degrees without overdoing it.
Today I only drank a little over half a bottle of cocktail. I picked up the bottle, and it only had a little over two degrees alcohol content.
Just as I was wondering what was going on, I looked at my wine glass.
Liu Mingwei handed me this wine glass when I arrived.
Since it's not a problem between me and the alcohol, there's only one possibility.
There's something wrong with this cup!
I might have been drugged.
Having this idea in mind, I quickly slipped out and went into the bathroom.
Once I got to the bathroom, the dizziness became even more pronounced.
My body is becoming increasingly weak.
I suddenly remembered that among the talismans I drew was a calming talisman, specifically used to concentrate the mind and restore consciousness.
I just don't know if this medicine will work.
While I was still conscious, I quickly took out my phone and sent a message to my master.
[Master, I think I was drugged at my class reunion. The address is...]
I don't know if the calming talisman will work. If I don't reply to your message later, please come and help me...
I then put down my phone and took out a calming talisman from my pocket.
"Calm your mind and soothe your spirit; let your mindfulness endure."
As the incantation was recited, the talisman burst into flames.
After a while, I felt my mind gradually clear up.
At the same time, the phone rang.
The reply came directly from Master:
[Wait for me, I'll be right there!]
Seeing the reply on WeChat warmed my heart.
I was too careless this time. No one could have imagined that an ordinary class reunion could turn into a drugging incident.
I quickly replied to my master's message:
[The calming talisman worked; I'm now fully conscious.]
[I just don't know what they're up to...]
At that moment, I made up my mind: I would pretend to be unconscious and go back to see what they were up to!
You can hide from these things for a while, but you can't hide them forever.
And I always felt that things weren't that simple.
Because Liu Mingwei and Li Ying's eyes were not right.
Moreover, Li Ying invited me to this gathering.
