Volume 1 Hidden Conspiracy: Chapter 55

The female ghost got up again, but the concentration of her evil aura was no longer as strong as before. She must have used up all her evil aura when she broke down the door!

But she used her last bit of strength to lunge towards her master.

Upon seeing the female ghost's expression, the master shook his head: "I understand..."

At this point, everyone present understood perfectly well that the female ghost was clearly intent on committing suicide.

Perhaps her fate was already sealed the moment she realized she couldn't escape the room.

Even just going upstairs is just to seize that tiny, sliver of an opportunity.

But she knew she had no chance left. Rather than living a life of suffering and wandering alone as a ghost, she would rather die.

Because she had already died once.

Just as the female ghost was about to touch the master, the master dodged to the side and thrust the copper coin sword in his hand fiercely towards the female ghost's back.

The female ghost's body was instantly pierced by the copper coin sword, letting out a shrill scream, but a moment later, a faint smile appeared on her lips:

"Yes, you're right. I'm the one who ruined my son and made him commit a heinous crime that will never be forgiven!"

"What do I, alone, fear of death? My only regret is my son, so young and full of life..."

The female ghost spoke in a faint breath as she looked up and reminisced.

I could tell she looked like she was about to cry, but as a ghost, she didn't even shed a tear.

There is probably nothing more sorrowful in the world than this!

The female ghost's aura grew weaker and weaker until she fell silent, her figure turning into a wisp of black smoke and disappearing into the air.

What followed was a long period of silence. I did almost nothing, but I felt like I had experienced a lot.

The master sighed heavily. This was the first time he had seen his master with such an expression, so he couldn't help but step forward and ask:

"Master, is the female ghost dead?"

The master smiled wryly: "Hehe, aren't ghosts supposed to be dead anyway?"

"However, this female ghost has completely disappeared and can no longer enter the cycle of reincarnation."

"Presumably, she doesn't want to be reincarnated anymore. For her, the annihilation of her soul is a kind of liberation..."

I sighed and looked at my master: "Master, she must have done something terrible that can't be undone."

"Otherwise, she wouldn't have been so extreme, or rather, she wouldn't have been so utterly desperate."

The master rubbed his forehead and smacked his lips:

"Yes, after all, her death led to her son Dazhuang failing in his attempt to assassinate his own father, being imprisoned by his father, and ultimately being beaten to death in prison."

When I heard that, my eyes widened involuntarily.

I even doubted whether I had heard correctly.

"What? There are such cruel fathers in the world, so disregarding family ties?"

"Did this happen outside of that illusion?"

The master let out a long sigh and slowly nodded:

"After her death, her son Dazhuang also saw the letter and was devastated."

"But in the end, I gritted my teeth and sent my mother away, so that she could be laid to rest."

"But coincidentally, on the very day his mother filed a lawsuit, some people from their village told Dazhuang about it."

“Dazhuang picked up the wood-chopping knife from home, rushed into the courtroom, and attacked his father with the knife.”

“How could a young man like him be a match for a bunch of constables? He was subdued in no time and thrown into the death row.”

"Dazhuang didn't stop even after he got to the cell. He kept cursing and swearing. In the end, he was tortured and couldn't withstand it."

"But this scene was witnessed by this woman, who was already filled with resentment when she died, and this incident further aggravated her emotions!"

"This woman couldn't handle such a big shock, and that's how she ended up like this."

I frowned, puzzled, and asked, "Master, how did this woman know that the male head of the household was her husband from a thousand years ago?"

The master put away the copper coin sword, turning it back into copper coins, and stuffed it into his satchel.

"It's very simple. Humans recognize each other by their faces, but ghosts are different. Ghosts recognize people by their fate and karma, much like dogs recognize people by their scent."

"In fact, the man was reincarnated several times over the past thousand years, but she killed him every time, including her husband's reincarnation."

"Her husband never got to live to see a high-ranking official position and was eventually found dead in the house. After all, it was a ghost that killed him, and there was no trace of it."

"Although there were powerful Taoist masters at that time, this woman was lucky. She ran away after killing people, which is why we never caught her."

"I don't know why, maybe this woman got tired of him and wanted to torture him to death. That's just her fate."

I lowered my head, a strange emotion churning in my mind.

There's a saying that goes, "If you've experienced what I've experienced, you might not be as kind as I am."

In my opinion, this woman was too foolish. She waited bitterly for ten years only to be rewarded with a heartless man, and even hanged herself for him.

I think it's not worth it at all!

But I also admire her courage. She waited for someone for ten years to preserve her chastity and took care of her son alone during those ten years.

After learning of her husband's betrayal, she resolutely chose to end their past relationship through death.

This requires immense courage and determination!

However, she was also very selfish. Disregarding her son's future and feelings, she chose to hang herself, which indirectly led to her son assassinating his own father.

He also orchestrated the father's decision to imprison and murder his own son.
