Volume 1 Hidden Conspiracy, Chapter 62

"Chen Xi, remember this: a sword is not a tool; you must treat it as a part of your body."

"Everything the sword touches is something you yourself are touching."

"Don't reject it, don't depend on it, choose to cooperate with it."

Following my master's wife's instructions, I began to wield the sword, but I could never find the right feeling.

The first time I touched this thing, it felt very unfamiliar.

My teacher's wife demonstrated for me:

"Watch carefully, don't use too much force in your palm, just hold the hilt of the sword."

"Use your waist to drive your arms and transfer the power outward."

I stared intently at my teacher's wife's movements and began to imitate her.

"Use your waist to generate power, don't rely too much on your forearms, otherwise you'll just be swinging wildly."

My teacher's wife held my waist and adjusted my steps.

I must say, after my teacher's wife made the adjustments, I felt that my own stress points were indeed different.

I didn't use much force in my arms, but my strength increased to a whole new level.

"Swordsmanship is very simple, as simple as a move or two; swordsmanship is also very difficult, so difficult that one cannot master even a single move or two in a lifetime."

"Since you are that guy's apprentice, I will take responsibility for you."

"Don't think that women are not suitable for martial arts. At your age, I have already killed more than a hundred evil spirits, zombies and monsters."

"A person only has one life. Only by becoming stronger can one have the right to live."

I was shocked. Hundreds? What an incredible record that must be!

Beneath the aloof exterior of my teacher's wife lies so many stories.

There is no such thing as a peaceful and tranquil life; it's just that some people risk their lives to carry on.

We were able to spend our student life peacefully only because our teachers and their wives supported us.

How can a mortal human body cope with things like ghosts and monsters?

"Master's wife, I want to become stronger, please don't hold back!"

I wanted to reassure my teacher's wife, otherwise I was afraid she would have reservations and wouldn't be able to teach me wholeheartedly.

Master's wife smiled: "Very well! You will inherit my Nine Swords of Falling Snow. I hope you will be prepared accordingly!"

I swung my sword again and again, trying to find that feeling.

Lost in the act of wielding the sword, time passed swiftly, and the midday sun hung high in the sky.

My teacher's wife called me to a halt: "That's enough for today."

"Master's wife, am I really that stupid? I haven't been able to grasp the feeling you were giving me all morning," I asked with some guilt.

The teacher's wife shook her head: "No, you may not realize it yourself, but your results have already exceeded my expectations."

"The Nine Swords of Falling Snow is the culmination of my more than twenty years of experience, and it is not something that can be mastered overnight."

"I used this move to subdue your master back then."

When I heard this, my eyes lit up immediately.

I can't understand how my master, such a calm and rigid person, could marry such a cold and beautiful wife.

What kind of story do the master and his wife have? What exactly happened in their era?

I was very curious, and my gossip-loving spirit was burning brightly.

"Master's wife, do you love Master very much?"

The master's wife was taken aback, her face flushed, but she still nodded:

"Although your master is a fool, I love him very much, and I was the one who proposed to marry him first."

Because we were afraid of violating the taboos of the heavens, we did not have a marriage certificate or hold a wedding ceremony.

But we have already made a vow before our Taoist ancestors that this will remain true today and in the future. Even if we are separated by death or our souls are annihilated, we will always keep each other in our hearts.

As I listened to my teacher's wife's story, my eyes welled up with tears.

Love can be so pure and simple.

Compared to the fragile proof of a marriage certificate, the concern and care feel much more real.

"Master's wife, how did you and Master meet?"

The teacher's wife almost didn't think twice:

"I met your master at an exchange conference held by various Taoist schools."

“I was originally a disciple of Longhu Mountain, and he was a disciple of Maoshan.”

"We drew in that sparring match, which led to our first contact."

"I will never forget that moment in my life, thinking that one day I will beat him."

“Your master is nine years older than me. If we were the same age, I think I would definitely be the one to win.”

"This has become a knot in my heart."

"Later, I met your master again because of a mission."

"Back then, there were a few disciples. We mistakenly entered the territory of the wolf demons. We were too few in number and were no match for those wolf demons."

"That idiot master of yours actually told me to run first, and he would hold off the wolf demon."

"You know, there are nearly a hundred wolf demons. How is he going to drag them?"

"We were too naive back then."

"The first bet I ever made was that we would get back alive."

Hearing this, my heart tightened: "And then? How did you escape?"

The master's wife laughed: "Escape? Why would you want to escape?"

"We've made up our minds to die. Once those wolf demons get out, they'll surely wreak havoc on the area. Even if we die, we can't escape!"

"Your master couldn't dissuade me, so he had no choice but to take a gamble."

"Even though you knew you couldn't win, your master still protected me tightly behind him."

"We used all our strength, but we only managed to eliminate one-third of the wolf demons."

"Our consciousness is almost fading away."

"Thanks to the blessings of Heaven, Daoist Jiang found us and almost single-handedly slaughtered dozens of wolf demons!"

I gasped.

Even Master was in danger, yet that Taoist Jiang was able to do this.
