Volume 1_Chapter 112 Rescue Success

"Dad, are we going to die?"

Wu Minda asked blankly as he looked at the blood seeping into the house through the crack in the door and the cracks on the wall.

Wu Zhen's face was pale. The continuous domestication of plant growth had severely overdrawn his supernatural powers, and he began to feel dizzy and black in front of his eyes.

Even so, he still gave his son a reassuring smile:

"No, Daddy is here. I will protect you and Mommy."

His wife Liu Shu was completely desperate. She watched the plant protection net woven by her husband fall off layer by layer. The smell of blood and the stench of zombies filled her nose. The roars and screams in her ears day and night made her numb.

No one will come to rescue them.

She laughed bitterly and picked up the fruit knife she had been preparing.

"Hubby, I'm tired. I want to take my son away first. I don't want to be eaten by those disgusting beasts."

Wu Zhen was horrified, fearing she would do something extreme. He controlled the vines to snatch the knife from her hand and said in pain:

"Don't be like this, hold on a little longer, trust me, we can survive if we make it through tonight! I promise, if no one comes to rescue us tonight, I will give up. Please, just hold on for one more night!"

Then he waved to his son, "Come, come to Daddy."

Wu Minda was a little scared and stood there motionless, with no light in his eyes and no hope of living.

Seeing his wife and children like this, Wu Zhen shed tears of despair. He gritted his teeth, squeezed out his remaining supernatural powers, and reinforced the protection net once again.

The door had shattered, and countless zombies' blue-gray hands, stained with blood and dirt, reached in through the gaps in the protective net.

The blood sickle's giant limbs slammed and chopped the vines frantically, trying to tear open an entrance and come in for a feast.

He didn't know how long he held on, but when he was almost unconscious, he heard the sound of a door being broken and several gunshots.

A golden leopard rushed in, its dark golden pupils and sharp fangs raging in the blood and smoke—

"Boss Su, the rescue was successful."

Su Tao heard the crackling sound of electricity in the communicator and asked again: "Captain Lei, what did you say? I didn't hear it clearly."

"I'd say the rescue was a success, but Wu Zhen overdrew his superpowers and passed out. His wife and child suffered fatal knife wounds. I had someone provide first aid, but there's a risk of infection. Whether they can survive depends on their will to survive."

This time Su Tao heard it clearly and asked in confusion: "Why is there a knife wound?"

Lei Xing shrugged. "It looks like his wife wanted to commit suicide with the child. Luckily, she didn't cut the aorta, otherwise she would have died on the spot. Boss Su, they didn't want to live anymore. If they didn't make it, it wouldn't count as my mission unfulfilled, right?"

Su Tao felt helpless about Wu Zhen's wife's behavior and sighed:

"No, thank you for your hard work. How am I supposed to pay you for half a ton of fuel and food?"

As soon as the voice fell, Su Tao heard cheers coming from the communicator:

“Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo——”

She was stunned: "What happened?"

Lei Xing grinned. "I asked them to set fire to Shou'an Outer City. What a pity, Boss Su, you didn't see how beautiful the flames rising into the sky were. It's worth celebrating."

Su Tao's mouth twitched, "Crazy man."

"Then Boss Su, let's meet in Dongyang in three days. The supplies will be your gift to me when we get there."
