The scene is still in the same room, but there are a few more people in the room. You can see them talking about something. Then you see those people take a knife and cut open the boy's wrist. Blood slowly flows out, and they quickly put it in a container to catch it. Then they leave without even looking at the boy.
Later, a woman came with food and water in her hands. She unlocked the chains on the boy's hands, and locked them again after he finished eating.
The group returned and stabbed the boy randomly with knives.
The boy remained calm throughout, whether he was being stabbed or eating, and when he was unconscious, he showed no signs of life, like a doll.
"Take him away. He's not normal anymore. It's not even a question of whether he'll survive tonight."
"But there is another situation: some people are very dependent on the pathological relationship they have become accustomed to, and forcibly changing to a new environment may cause a stress reaction."
"Then what should we do?"
"Or should we wait until he wakes up and ask him what he wants?"
"No, let's take him away. If he's not used to it when he wakes up, we can figure something out later," Bu Ke insisted.
Han Mo broke the chains binding the boy's hands and feet, Bu Qing carried the boy on his back, and the group returned to the village to wait for Zhuang Zhao to get back into the RV.
Zhuang Zhao remained unconscious, but his vital signs were normal. In contrast, the boy's condition was much more serious. He was malnourished and hypothermic. Because there were no professional doctors or equipment available, it was unknown whether his internal organs were damaged.
All they could do was feed him, give him water, fill hot water bottles and warmers on the bed to help him get nutrition and keep his body temperature, and wait for him to wake up.
Yan Shi spent most of his time by Zhuang Zhao's side, checking on the boy from time to time, and each time he saw Bu Ke holding the boy's hand.
This is the first time I've seen Bu Ke care so much about someone else.
"Go take a nap, I'll watch for a while."
"No, I want to wait until he wakes up and know his attitude as soon as possible."
"Then take a nap, otherwise you'll have a headache tomorrow."
"Hmm, I'll see how it goes."
"I'm planning to make instant noodles, do you want some?"
"I don't want to eat, just give me some soup later."
While Yan was boiling water, he went back to the room to check on Zhuang Zhao. Logically, the effects of the medicine should have worn off by now, but he was sleeping more and more soundly.
After preparing the instant noodles, Yan Shi sat on the sofa with the noodle cup in hand, openly scrutinizing the young man.
"Her features are quite pretty."
After Yan Shi and Bu Ke finished their instant noodles, they went back to their room. Feeling sleepy after eating, they lay down and fell asleep next to Zhuang Zhao.
Zhuang Zhao didn't wake up until dawn the next day. Still half asleep, she couldn't remember what had happened the night before. She just felt uncomfortable all over. Turning her head, she saw Yan Shi huddled beside her. She pulled the blanket up a bit more for Yan Shi, and only then did her memories of the previous night begin to come back.
Now that you're back in the RV, everything should be fine.
With an empty stomach and a full bladder, Zhuang Zhao could endure the hunger, but she couldn't go to the toilet. She carefully pulled her arm out of Yan Shi's arms, but unexpectedly, she woke Yan Shi up.
"You're awake." Yan Shi's eyes were still closed, and it was unclear whether he was awake or not.
"Go back to sleep."
"I'm not sleeping anymore, it's all dreams, I'm so tired." Yan Shi mumbled, reaching out to put his hand on Zhuang Zhao's waist. He spoke quite fluently, but didn't open his eyes.
Zhuang Zhao put her hand back, picked up the doll that had fallen to the ground, stuffed it into her arms, and headed straight for the toilet.
When he returned, Yan Shi was already asleep, snoring away.
After learning about what happened last night from Han Mo, Zhuang Zhao stared at the unconscious boy on the sofa for a long time before looking away.
He's just a little kid, he shouldn't be a threat.
The boy woke up around noon.
When I opened my eyes, it was a completely unfamiliar place, and I saw strangers everywhere. My eyes went from being dazed to confused, but I felt no panic or fear at all.
After catching up on sleep, Yan Shi heard the news that the boy had woken up and hurriedly pulled Zhuang Zhao over. Looking at the boy's empty and lifeless expression, a word came to mind—autism.
"How old are you?" Bu Ke asked, standing in front of the boy.
11.
"What's your name?"
"Jiang Lang."
Do you remember what happened yesterday?
The boy nodded and then shook his head.
"I don't remember you."
Do you know the people who stabbed you in the back?
The boy nodded.
Why did they stab you?
"My blood can make zombies explode because my wounds heal quickly, and I need to collect blood fresh every time."
Does it hurt?
The boy glanced at her and nodded.
"Then why make them take blood?"
"My mom told me to listen to them."
Was your mother among that group?
The boy lowered his head.
“My mom… was eaten by zombies, I have to avenge her.”
Are there any of those people you can't bear to part with? People whose deaths would cause you grief?
The boy shook his head.
Do you want them to die?
"I don't know. They said they could help me avenge my mother, but it hurts so much every time the knife goes in."
Bu Ke remained serious and focused throughout, while the others did not utter a single word, leaving everything to Bu Ke to do.
"I'll help you get revenge, will you come with me?"
“Okay.” The boy agreed immediately without hesitation.
Bu Ke frowned. "Do you agree to everything anyone tells you?"
The boy shook his head. "No, I don't think you're a bad person. You're better than those people."
"Let's eat first. Is there anything you particularly want to eat or don't like to eat?"
"I want to eat meat."
Bu Ke gave her older brother a look, and Bu Qing understood. She then went to prepare lunch, including the succulents.
Given Jiang Lang's condition, he shouldn't eat too much oily food. His body is already weak, and he might collapse from diarrhea.
