Chapter 84 Conquering All Sides

With wars breaking out everywhere, small nations sought powerful allies. The Star Kingdom, expanding its influence, proactively countered Japan's provocations and coercion by conscripting soldiers. The next day, everyone was astonished when Yan Ye answered Yao Tang's question.

Is this a case of one thing subduing another? Or is it the power of love?

We've finally arrived at Zone 1.

Si Yue, Xiong Kexin, and Tang Chuang went to attend the representative meeting together. To prevent Yan Shi from sneaking away, Si Yue also asked Yan Ye and Catherine to keep an eye on him.

Yan Shi: Are you a sore loser?

She had no intention of running away right away; she wanted to freeload for a few days and explore the area.

Zone One truly lives up to its name; it's all high-tech, with defenses comparable to, but even more advanced than, Zone Two's impregnable fortress. The outer walls are equipped with artillery shells, and humans are on guard against them as well, in addition to zombies.

There weren't many idlers wandering the streets. As the central hub of the country, its significance wasn't simply about survival.

Yan Shi walked down the street with Zhuang Zhao in his arms. They had a rare moment alone together, and the two of them wished they could become one.

The streets were deserted, with few shops. The street vendors at the intersections sold not-so-fresh vegetables and fruits, their faces expressionless.

Why do I feel a little down?

"The atmosphere is so serious that even laughing is not allowed."

"A person would go crazy if they stayed in a place like this for too long."

"Survival of the fittest; if you can't change the rules, you can only accept them."

"I just hope that traffic will resume as soon as possible so that they will have more options."

There were hardly any people in the surrounding shops, but Yan Shi spotted a 24-hour unmanned adult product vending machine.

She poked Zhuang Zhao and pointed it out to him.

"Shall we go take a look?"

Zhuang Zhao grasped her hand and stepped inside.

The shop is small, with vending machines inside and a bookshelf next to it displaying product information.

Yan Shi glanced at it briefly.

"You go choose, I'll wait for you outside."

Zhuang Zhao came out after about seven or eight minutes.

My safety is in your hands.

"I know, I will catch up on my studies diligently."

"But we don't have any time alone at all." It's fun to be with a lot of people, but when we want to be intimate, we feel like we have no private space at all.

"Going to a hotel?"

"I'm afraid there might be cameras, and besides, I feel more relaxed at home."

"There's plenty of time, no rush."

"I'm not in a hurry, but someone else doesn't know."

"Everything is based on the princess's wishes; the lower-ranking servants are fine."

"Opportunity favors the prepared mind; it's never wrong to be prepared." Yan Shi patted Zhuang Zhao's arm and continued walking forward.

She appeared poised and elegant; if it weren't for her flushed cheeks and shifty eyes, one would have truly thought she wasn't shy at all.

Zhuang Zhao's restless heart suddenly calmed down; the wait had been worthwhile.

When Si Yue returned, he told everyone about the meeting.

"The gist of it was asking whether each district should be autonomous or centrally controlled, and then we discussed issues such as restoring transportation, unifying currency, chain banks, and newborn policies."

"District One truly lives up to its reputation as the former capital; it loves to get involved in politics."

"So, should we have regional autonomy or centralized power?"

"If it can be self-governed, then it should be self-governed."

"That's true. If it were a centralized system, officials would be appointed, at least as the second-in-command."

"It suddenly feels like an ancient feudal dynasty."

"Was the matter concerning foreigners mentioned?"

"We'll discuss this tomorrow."

"It looks like we'll be talking about this for days."

"Don't even think about running away for the next few days." Si Yue glanced at her.

Catherine raised an eyebrow. Si Yue's attitude towards Yan Shi could be described as a domineering CEO and his spoiled wife, a chase where one tries to escape the other, or a CEO father and his daughter in love, with the father restricting access to the house and not wanting his daughter to be taken away by someone else's pig.

interesting!

Yao Tang disliked District One, and upon learning that they would be gone for several more days, she immediately set off to leave the city for the suburbs.

"If you don't like it, it'll only last a few days."

Why should I make myself miserable if I can be happy?

"Is there any danger?"

"It's not a big problem," Yao Tang insisted.

"If you're worried, go with her," Si Yue said, tired of hearing the same thing and offering a solution directly.

"Whatever, I already said I'm okay with it." Yao Tang said, then picked up her bag and left.

Yan Ye looked at Si Yue, who waved his hand and said, "Go ahead, contact me if you need anything."

Yan Shi covered her mouth and laughed from the side. These two are definitely going to have something going on.

The next day, Si Yue went to a meeting, and Catherine took everyone to a bar.

The bar, which is open during the day, is not as lively as it is at night. There are only a few people inside, and those few who are there seem listless.

Catherine claimed to be the queen of nightclubs, ordered a private room and started playing games and drinking contests. She took on four people at once: Yan Shi, Zhuang Zhao, Jiang Liuer and Jin Xi, and won completely.

Bu Ke and Jiang Lang are both minors, but they insisted on coming. However, they didn't get any alcohol; each of them just sipped a non-alcoholic beverage, which was quite an eye-opener for them.

Jiang Liuer, who was usually very talkative, became silent, her gaze fixed on Jin Xi, completely ignoring everyone else.

The introverted Jinxi cries and laughs, sings and dances, acts crazy, and talks non-stop.

Yan Shizheng grabbed Zhuang Zhao's hand and plucked the hairs off his hand, showing them off to Zhuang Zhao one by one.

Zhuang Zhao's right hand was held in Yan Shi's hand, and his left hand was on her shoulder. He had only drunk one cup, and his eyes were clear, showing no signs of drunkenness.

Seeing everyone else in pairs, Catherine thought she must have been out of her mind to bring them out.

Well, she can go find her own fun.

Catherine paid in advance so they could go home when they were done having fun.

Bu Ke stared at the remaining wine in the bottle, and his hand was interrupted by Zhuang Zhao as soon as he reached out.

Children should not drink alcohol.
