Chapter 87 Returning to Homeland

The war finally ended, and the two were finally able to return to their homeland.

The wedding was seven days later. In those seven days, everything changed. The baby was gone, the bride was gone, and the groom was single again.

The couple argued about money and their ambiguous relationship. The bride, heartbroken, broke up with him and wanted to have an abortion. The groom didn't think he had done anything wrong, stubbornly refusing to admit it, and didn't think she was really heartless enough to have an abortion, so he didn't stop her.

As a result, the bride was hit by a driver who suffered a heart attack as soon as she stepped out of the house, and died before she could even get to the hospital.

Yan Shi was stunned. When she arrived at the hospital and saw her roommate's body, she faced the death of someone close to her for the first time. She rushed over and beat the groom so badly that his own mother wouldn't recognize him.

"Traps have been set up all around, and the main gate is a maze, commonly known as a ghost wall, so it's foolproof," Bu Ke assured, patting his chest.

In early June, everyone embarked on their return journey.

During this time, Yan Shi often pondered life and made numerous plans for the future. However, the moment she got into the car, all she wanted to do was lie in bed and wait to die.

The world is so big, and she can't see it all, so she might as well stay in her little nest, waiting for the wind and rain, enjoying the flowers and the moon, and sharing the joys and sorrows.

Yan Shi raised an eyebrow, suddenly becoming interested, and leaned closer to Zhuang Zhao's ear to whisper, "When we get back, let's make love."

The car braked suddenly, almost throwing Yan Shi out of the car.

"It's a deal!"

Yan nodded and made an "OK" gesture.

"What's settled?" Bu Ke asked curiously.

"Don't ask me anything about our business." Zhuang Zhao said, then stepped on the gas, and the car sped off.

"Why are you driving so fast?" Bu Ke complained.

"I am eager to go home."

Zhuang Zhao thought to himself that if he hurried on his journey, he would arrive in five or six days at the latest, and finally be able to fulfill his wish.

Unfortunately, Zhuang Zhao wasn't very lucky. After walking more than a hundred miles, Yan Shi received an electronic invitation from her roommate.

“One of my roommates said she’s getting married and is trying on wedding dresses. It’s in Zone 3, not far from us. Let’s go and attend the wedding.”

Ever since Yan Shi said those words, Zhuang Zhao's lips have never curved into a smile again.

Yan Shi didn't notice Zhuang Zhao's strange behavior at first. She was chatting with her roommate and giving Zhuang Zhao directions. Suddenly, she felt a chill and wanted to find a piece of clothing to put on. When she turned her head, she saw Zhuang Zhao staring straight ahead, not giving her a second glance.

Yan Shi blinked, peeked out, and sure enough, his face clearly said, "I'm unhappy, comfort me."

"I'll have to stay in District 3 for a few days. If I get a chance, I won't wait to go back."

"Your roommates are all married, what about you?" Zhuang Zhao didn't respond to Yan Shi's question, but instead asked something else.

What's wrong with me?

"They just took wedding photos and that was it, without considering my feelings at all. Even if we can't get a marriage certificate now, at least they should change how they address me. My boyfriend always gives me the feeling that I haven't officially become his wife yet."

Yan Shi hadn't considered this aspect at all.

What do you want me to call you?

"Just call them whatever other people call them after their wedding."

"Fool?"

Who's shouting like that?

"In my family, that's what my mom calls my dad."

"Change to another one."

"The father of my child."

Zhuang Zhao was in despair.

"Will calling me 'husband' cost you a piece of your flesh?"

"Maybe it's too cheesy, I can't stand it."

"Fine, I won't force you. Do as you please."

"Give me a break. You'll get used to this cheesy stuff." Yan Shi mumbled for a while, feeling that those two words were poisonous.

Bu Ke: These two are always so lovey-dovey, it's so annoying!

The three districts were indeed not far apart, and we arrived at noon the next day.

When Yan Shi's roommate learned that she had arrived, he came out to greet her.

"Cui Ying, my college roommate," Yan Shi introduced them.

"Zhuang Zhao, it's me, your husband."

Congratulations!

Congratulations to you!

"I've already arranged my accommodation. I'll stay for seven days after the wedding, and then I'll leave after attending the wedding."

"Of course, I have to see you in your wedding dress. And your partner?"

"Over there, I'll have him drive the car over here."

"No need, we'll drive over there, you just lead the way."

"That's true. Let's settle down and rest first. Come to my house for dinner later. My family isn't here, so I feel more at ease with you here."

Yan Shi then remembered that Cui Ying's family wasn't from this area, but she seemed to work here.

"It's okay, it's pre-wedding anxiety, everyone does it."

"When did you get married? I never heard you mention it."

"We didn't have a wedding ceremony, we only took wedding photos. I have social anxiety, and neither of our parents were here, so I didn't want to have a wedding."

"That's true, it's better not to do it. It saves us a lot of trouble. We've been busy for more than half a month and we still haven't finished."

After Cui Ying finished speaking, she answered a phone call.

"My husband was called away, let me show you the way."

"Then get in our car." To make it easier to give directions, Yan Shi let Cui Ying sit in the passenger seat, while he went to the back to sit with Bu Ke and Jiang Lang.

"Could you please drive slower later? I'm pregnant."

"knew."

"You're pregnant, how many months along are you?"

"More than two months."

"Instead of saying we need to be careful for the next three months, why are you still planning a wedding?"

"I just discovered it."

"Good."

Yan Shi couldn't say it was bad either. Seeing the happiness on her roommate's face, she figured he must have met the right person.

Cui Ying arranged for Yan Shi and the others to stay at a hotel near their home. When booking the rooms, Yan Shi asked Bu Ke whether he wanted to have a room by himself or share a double room with Jiang Lang.

"Aren't we just living together?"

“I share a room with him.” Yan Shi pointed his chin at Zhuang Zhao.

"Double room."

"One king-size bed room, one double room."
