Chapter 89 The Mysterious Old Man

On the way, Yan Shi met an old man who claimed she was exceptionally talented and insisted on taking her as his apprentice. Yan Shi initially dismissed him as a charlatan fortune teller and didn't want to engage, but to her surprise, his casual predictions were all accurate, forcing her to believe the old man possessed some supernatural abilities. Cui Ying finished tidying up and came over, finally ending the awkward conversation.

"Then we'll head back now."

"Okay, come over for dinner again tomorrow. Contact me if you need anything," Cui Ying said with a smile.

"The atmosphere at their house is so uncomfortable," Yan Shi couldn't help but complain after leaving.

"Cui Ying has a bit of a people-pleasing personality, so she doesn't like to comment on other people's ways of getting along. She can only say that she hopes she won't be let down."

"Don't be too pessimistic."

I've always had a pessimistic view of men.

"And what about me?" Zhuang Zhao asked hurriedly.

"I'm ready for you to leave."

"I appreciate your trust; at least you still believe I won't betray you."

"If you're really that heartless, then I'm just blind."

"If others don't believe me, fine, but at least show me a little more trust. I'm practically willing to give you my life." Zhuang Zhao was never stingy with his words.

"Being mentally prepared is one thing, but I'll treat you the way I should treat you. I haven't been able to enjoy your kindness with a clear conscience either."

"No way, you don't express your love anytime, anywhere like I do."

"No, that's too cheesy."

"Why don't you find it cheesy when you read novels? You only find it cheesy because you don't love me enough. Otherwise, what's so cheesy about genuine feelings?"

"I'm not arguing with you. Your mouth is so sweet it's sickeningly salty."

“Sister, I think we should stop traveling with you two,” Bu Ke suggested.

Why?

"I think our wattage is a bit too high, and besides, eating dog food all day long can easily lead to malnutrition."

"Tsk, don't you also eat your brother and Chang Ge's dog food at home?"

"They're not as cloying as you two."

"Thank you for the compliment," Zhuang Zhao interjected.

"So you two are just staying in the hotel?"

"Oh no! Sister Fu asked me to help her dig up medicinal herbs, saying they're on Sanglan Mountain near District Three."

"Let's go together."

"My fighting power and his easily crush the two of you; we don't need to team up," Bu Ke replied domineeringly.

“That’s true, but I also want to go up the mountain to play.” Yan Shi said frankly, without any embarrassment.

"Oh." Bu Ke gave up struggling.

After returning to his room, Yan Shi naturally took off his clothes and changed into his pajamas. He only remembered after unbuttoning three buttons on his shirt that he was no longer in the same room as Bu Ke, but with Zhuang Zhao, and that something might even happen later.

Yan Shi pretended to be calm and buttoned up the third button, then used their own kettle to boil water.

The atmosphere became quite awkward.

"I went to take a shower, and I washed myself inside and out." Zhuang Zhao was amused by Yan Shi's pause and deliberately reached over her head to get her clean pajamas.

"Go on, go ahead." Yan Shi gave him a push, and seeing him enter the bathroom, she hurriedly took out her phone to look up something. Although she had looked it up many times before and never lacked theoretical knowledge, she always wanted to cram before going into battle and looked it up one more time.

Which pajamas should I wear? Should I wear a bra underneath? Should I suck on a candy after brushing my teeth? Should I turn on the light? What should I say if I'm going to talk?

As a result, the more Zhuang Zhao thought about it, the more nervous she became. When she came out, she saw Yan Shi squatting in front of her suitcase, muttering to herself.

"I'm done washing." Zhuang Zhao's words startled Yan Shi, who hurriedly stuffed her underwear inside.

"Did I scare you?"

"No, then I'm going to take a shower." Yan Shi hurriedly shook his head and fled.

Now it was Zhuang Zhao's turn to be distracted and absent-minded. The sound of rushing water made him daydream, and soon he felt his body getting hot. Opening the window didn't help. Zhuang Zhao found a piece of wood and started carving it with a carving knife, which finally distracted him a little.

The brief peace was completely shattered when Yan Shi came out in her nightgown.

Zhuang Zhao instinctively covered his mouth and nose, afraid of getting a nosebleed.

It's not that Yan Shi has a hot body, nor that her nightgown is sexy. The biggest temptation for him is the person he likes standing there, knowing in his heart that something else might happen later.

"Help me dry my hair." Yan Shi removed the towel from her hair, then covered her shoulders with a dry towel, waiting for Zhuang Zhao to come over.

Do you want it dried?

"It's about 70-80% done, smells so good, and is sweet. It feels like I've stepped into a bakery."

"Please be sure to eat me like bread later."

"Who wants to eat you? You're not real bread."

Zhuang Zhao unplugged the hair dryer, parted her half-dry hair, and let the towel on her shoulder fall to the ground. Their breaths mingled and blended.

"Turn off the lights," Yan Shi said hastily.

Zhuang Zhao stepped on the switch, plunging the room into darkness instantly.

When they rolled onto the bed, Zhuang Zhao turned on the bedside lamp. The orange light illuminated only the headboard, allowing him to see Yan Shi's expression.

The night is still long, enough for many things to happen.

The next day, Cui Ying invited them to dinner again, but Yan Shi didn't go. Firstly, he didn't want to trouble her anymore, and secondly, he wasn't feeling well and it wasn't appropriate for him to see anyone. Someone was lying in her bed.

"Don't worry about us, we'll have fun for a few days." Yan Shi didn't want to trouble Cui Ying, and she also really wanted to explore the area.

"That's fine, I'll send you some money."

"No need, we've already changed it."

"Okay, I'll contact you again."

Cui Ying hung up the phone, feeling a little guilty, as she felt she hadn't treated Yan Shi well.

"Your friend isn't coming?"

"Um."

You paid for their rooms?

"Yeah, since they've come all this way, I should definitely pay for it."

"I'm telling you, even if you come to attend a wedding, who would come so many days in advance? Four people staying in a hotel for ten days or so is like eating for a month."
