"What's so good about it? Quickly get rid of those messy thoughts of yours."
"I don't."
After making the bed, Bu Ke actually called Jiang Lang in to sleep with her. Bu Qing knew her younger sister's temper. If she went along with her, it would be fine, but if she tried to stop her, Jiang Lang would hold a grudge for life and would always do the opposite of what she was told.
"Let me tell you, we're all guys, so keep your little schemes to yourself, or you'll regret it." Bu Qing could only resort to a roundabout strategy to find Jiang Lang; he didn't believe that Jiang Lang would actually dare to have any improper thoughts.
Jiang Lang glanced at him blankly, then looked away.
"Stop thinking about those irrelevant things. Help me figure out the secrets of his body. Could he be an alien? Or maybe he's from the Divine Medicine Clan? I feel like the zombie self-destruction is also related to him. He himself doesn't know, otherwise he wouldn't have been tricked into becoming a blood bank."
"What did you find out?"
"We didn't get much information out of him. He has lost a lot of his memories, and what remains is quite confused. It's probably because he was always in a near-death state, and even went into shock."
"Growing up like this will likely affect his intelligence. Let's reconsider the matter of him being a child groom."
"Tsk, let's get down to business."
Jiang Lang was facing the wall with his back to Bu Ke, and it was unclear whether he was asleep or not.
Bu Ke didn't tell him these things behind his back.
The two studied it thoroughly but couldn't figure it out. They still had a mission to complete and couldn't afford to waste too much time. They originally planned to leave immediately, but Bu Ke wanted to avenge Jiang Lang first.
"He said there was a particularly powerful zombie in the mountains that would come to the village every now and then to grab and eat people. His mother was eaten by this zombie."
"This is referring to a different species, isn't it?"
"It's definitely a variant."
"We don't need to go looking for that alien species, do we?" Zhuang Zhao wanted to avoid fighting the alien species, worried that Yan Shi would impulsively use the black hole.
“I promised him I would find him,” Bu Ke insisted.
"But your task is to protect your sister."
Jiang Lang had never seen that particularly powerful zombie; he only knew it existed, but he didn't know its location or appearance. However, someone else did.
Bu Ke kept listening to the messages placed in the villagers' ears. Although it was difficult to hear clearly due to the large number of people and the noise, he was still able to extract the key words.
"On the mountain east of the village, they seem to feed themselves every two weeks to survive. People who pass by are captured and fed to that alien species."
"The day is approaching in the next couple of days. We've run away, and Jiang Lang has disappeared too. They're drawing lots to decide who will be used as food for the alien species."
"They fed the corpses with their own bodies; I don't know whether to praise them for being clever or foolish."
"Get ready, get ready to leave," Bu Ke urged.
Jiang Lang asked Yan Shi to look after her, and Yan Shi readily agreed.
She really wanted to go and join in the fun, but everyone told her not to.
Yan Shi, who suffers from mild social anxiety, didn't know how to start a conversation with Jiang Lang. Jiang Lang didn't seem to need anyone to talk to him either, holding a doll of Bu Ke in his arms and looking out the window without even turning his head.
"What do we do?" Yan Shi nudged Zhuang Zhao, who was sitting next to her reading a book, with her elbow.
"Isn't this great?" Zhuang Zhao didn't see anything wrong with it.
"Wouldn't that make us seem heartless?"
"He likes someone, and bothering him would be a hassle for him."
“That’s true.” Yan Shi was easily persuaded. Bored in the car, he saw many wildflowers in full bloom nearby, grabbed a pair of scissors, ran over, picked out his favorites, cut them, and brought them back in a hug.
"Here, the prettiest one is for you."
"I should have given it to you." Zhuang Zhao held the blue flower, clearly delighted.
"Then you can deliver it next time."
Yan Shi then picked out a yellow one and handed it to Jiang Lang. Jiang Lang turned to look at her, took the flower, and held it in his hand.
She put the rest in a bottle and placed it in the cup holder to prevent water from spilling while driving.
"I wonder how they are now." Yan Shi took out a pudding from the refrigerator and gave one to Jiang Lang.
"I don't have any."
“Let’s share one, okay?” Yan Shi scooped the first bite for Zhuang Zhao.
As he waited and waited but no one returned, and as the dark clouds outside grew lower and the wind blew stronger, Yan Shi became increasingly worried.
"You could ask about the situation," Zhuang Zhao suggested, seeing her pacing back and forth, unable to stay still.
"If they're secretly getting close to the aliens, wouldn't one phone call expose them?"
As they were talking, large raindrops began to fall. Yan Shi and Zhuang Zhao were busy packing up and closing the windows when they realized that Jiang Lang was gone.
"Wasn't it just here? It didn't move an inch all afternoon, how could it be gone just from a slight misalignment?" Yan Shi was devastated.
"I'll go out and look for it. You stay in the car and don't move." Zhuang Zhao put on a coat and went out in the rain.
Yan Shi searched around in the car, then peered out the window, but the heavy rain obstructed his view, and he couldn't see very far.
"What kind of mess is this?" Yan Shi stamped his feet in frustration, and with a determined heart, decided to go out and look for it as well.
She didn't know which direction to look for him. Putting herself in Jiang Lang's shoes, she saw that it was raining outside the window, but there was no thunder. She really couldn't figure out why he had left the car.
However you look at it, there are only two places: where the villagers are and where the alien species are. Logically speaking, he shouldn't know the location of the alien species, but Bu Ke didn't hide it from him when he told him.
Which one should I choose if I have to choose between the two?
Yan Shi casually threw on a coat and ran towards the direction of the alien species. She didn't know the exact location of the alien species, but she had Bu Ke's location.
Upon checking the location, Yan Shi discovered that Zhuang Zhao was also moving in that direction. He immediately sent a text message to Bu Ke explaining the situation, and then sent another text message to Zhuang Zhao saying that she was going there too.
Bu Ke didn't reply to her; he might be angry.
Zhuang Zhao replied immediately, telling her to watch her step and not slip.
Bu Ke's side
After learning the exact location of the alien from the villagers, the journey didn't take too long. However, when they were almost there, they encountered a group of zombies. They carefully eliminated the zombies and were wary of an alien attack, but the alien did not appear.
They found the cave the villagers had mentioned, and inside they discovered a creature the size of a tiger, which was most likely the alien species they were looking for.
This guy was definitely the largest zombie they had ever seen. He had no clothes on and didn't have fur like an animal; he was just a dark blob, which made him quite unpleasant to look at.
Fortunately, it's dark; if it were bright white, the visual appeal would be even worse.
From a distance, he appeared motionless, but his snores filled the air. His body was covered with bones, including those of the humans he had previously eaten, as well as many animal bones. It seemed he was not a picky eater.
"How can we cut off someone's head when it's so big? Besides, we can't even see where the head is." Bu Ke craned his neck and stood on tiptoe but still couldn't find the other person's head, and he was worried.
"Let's blow it up, including the mountain," Han Mo suggested.
"Okay, let's smash him into mincemeat before he wakes up. Even a mutant wouldn't survive that way."
Han Mo drew explosive talismans on the spot. Bu Ke walked lightly and was responsible for sticking the explosive talismans as close to the alien species as possible, while Bu Qing was responsible for guarding.
Everything was going smoothly until Bu Ke was overwhelmed by the stench and sneezed repeatedly.
Then the alien's snoring abruptly stopped.
