Chapter Fourteen: Everyone's Busy with Their Own Things

"Okay, I'll tell you how to train at home later. I guarantee you'll be able to knock down a zombie with one punch in a few months. Compared to humans, zombies have simpler movements and are much easier to fight."

Time flew by as they chatted and practiced. When Yan Shi was changing clothes, she felt an unprecedented sense of exhaustion, feeling that she would be too tired to go to work after the practice.

"Go back, wash up, and go to sleep," Yan Shi thought. Her eyelids felt so heavy she couldn't keep them open, just like when she was sleepy in high school and could fall asleep standing up.

Zhuang Zhaohui was waiting at the door.

"What a coincidence."

“I’m waiting for you. Yunnuo told me you were here, and I was thinking of waiting for you to go back together.”

"Then I'll be going now." Chang Ge chuckled twice at the two of them and disappeared in a flash.

"Bye-Bye."

How long have you been waiting?

"Not long."

"Give me your hand." Zhuang Zhao obediently handed over his hand.

"With this temperature, I'd believe you if you said you stood there for half an hour. Even if I was waiting, I would have waited inside. What, aren't you afraid of catching a cold?"

I thought you didn't want to see me.

“You’re mistaken. I originally came to find you, but I saw Chang Ge first, so I practiced Wing Chun with her for a while.”

"Besides, why would I come over if I didn't want to see you? I could just stay home and wait for you to go back before I go out."

"The question is, why do you feel like I don't want to see you when everything is fine?"

"We haven't really talked much lately." Zhuang Zhao also found a job, working from nine to five, and going to the training hall in the evenings. Apart from having lunch together, they really don't have much interaction.

"That's because we're busy. That's the tragedy of being an adult. We're always on the go for money, living a nomadic life. It's like the end of the world, so it's kind of pointless to work like this. But we don't feel at ease if we don't have some money saved up."

"So, what are you practicing here?" Yan Shi changed the subject, not wanting to continue the sentimental talk.

"Setting obstacles and traps, as well as the techniques for using various weapons."

"That sounds amazing. You set up a lot of obstacles when we were dealing with the aliens last time, just like a support character in a game."

"I quite enjoy circling around zombies."

Yan Shi held Zhuang Zhao's hand the whole time, switching to the other hand when it got warm. She was surprised that Zhuang Zhao's hand got cold so quickly, wondering if it was because he had kidney deficiency.

She didn't know, and she didn't dare to ask.
