Chapter Sixty-Three: The Alien Child

Sangzhi called Zheng Guli, asking him to help her check the surveillance footage. Unexpectedly, Zheng Guli first told her bad news: a large group of zombies had gathered in the southwest and were already fighting.

In the southwest direction, it's hard not to connect Yan Shi's disappearance with the zombie attack.

Upon hearing this, Zhuang Zhao immediately contacted Si Yue, as Si Yue was the only person he knew who could help.

Si Yue asked Zhuang Zhao to share Yan Shi's location, and the two of them headed southwest to meet up.

Zhuang Zhao drove over, and Sang Zhi followed. When they met up with Si Yue, Si Yue almost crashed into Zhuang Zhao's car.

After getting into Zhuang Zhao's car, Si Yue felt that Zhuang Zhao was driving too slowly and insisted on driving himself.

Zhuang Zhao experienced speed and passion for the first time, while Sang Zhi didn't react much; only Zhuang Zhao was not used to it.

While everyone was frantically searching for Yan Shi's life or death, Yan Shi, tossed and turned, was vomiting and having diarrhea, and had become indifferent to life and death.

Can you just give me a quick death? Luckily, she put on the gloves Gu Fu gave her when she went downstairs, otherwise, if she had swallowed this alien, she might have used it to seal the black hole, to prevent it from actively devouring zombies.

Finally, it stopped. Yan Shi pushed the alien aside, leaned against the tree trunk, and vomited to his heart's content.

"Brother, could we get a mode of transportation next time? Not everyone can handle a rickshaw."

After vomiting, Yan Shi turned his head, wanting to see the true face of the culprit, but his gaze was first drawn to the beauty.

It was the first time she had ever seen a female alien, and she was very beautiful.

"I'm sorry to have abducted you, but it was out of necessity. Our child has been kidnapped, and we can't rescue him on our own. We saw that Si Yue cares about you, so we thought of taking you hostage and asking him to exchange our child for you."

"Don't worry, I will ensure your safety."

"The problem is, how did you see that Si Yue cares about me? Wait, have all the alien species infiltrated the human population yet?"

“I attended his party, the same party where you were harassed by Nangong Qingyue. Besides, I am human.”

Yan Shi opened his eyes wide and touched her hand. Even though he could feel her body temperature, which was almost the same as his own, he still couldn't believe that she was human.

"Your child?" Yan Shi pointed at her, then at the alien creature beside her, the one who had carried her over.

"Yes, our child."

"Can people of different species get pregnant?"

"No, I used forbidden magic to keep him alive for a day. Luckily, I got pregnant successfully."

Yan Shi is in the process of rebuilding his worldview.

"Even if you love each other, you don't have to have children. Why risk getting pregnant and having a child? Even if you can survive in a horde of zombies, the child is very likely to have an accident. Besides, he/she has no peers. Growing up in such an environment, will he/she live with humans or continue to live with other species? These are all problems."

"You'll overcome it gradually."

Yan Shi said she couldn't understand. She wanted to call Zhuang Zhao, but found that her phone and communicator were not with her. Could they have been lost on the road?

So what if she's lost? Anyway, she has a tracking device on her, so Zhuang Zhao won't have to worry about not being able to find her.

Yan Shi was furious and didn't want to gossip about how the two of them got together.

The beauty could tell that Yan Shi was angry, so she didn't say anything more. She placed wild fruits and steamed buns in front of her and then disappeared.

Surrounded by other species, all staring intently at her, Yan Shi completely abandoned her plan to escape and went back to eating and sleeping as usual.

Yan Shi was not in a deep mountain forest, but in a remote town abandoned by humans. Vegetables were growing in the garden, and crops were growing in the fields in the distance. It looked almost the same as before the apocalypse.

They live a more comfortable life than humans, even though there's only one living person who needs to eat.

There were also books in the room, about pregnancy, about childcare, and some obscure ancient texts, which might be related to sorcerers.

Yan Shi really didn't want to read these books, but in the end he found a few children's picture books and read them on the bed with great interest.

Zhuang Zhao's side

They originally intended to follow the location, but they were surrounded by zombies before they had gone very far. Si Yue immediately unleashed his ultimate skill, but the zombies kept coming in droves, and the alien species were jumping around, which he couldn't handle alone.

Another section was charred. The car drove forward for a while, when suddenly a big guy rushed over, smashed the car window with a punch, and stuffed an envelope inside.

Sangzhi opened the envelope, which was addressed to Siyue. Inside, on the letter, was written: "Exchange my child for her."

In addition to letter paper, there was also Yan Shi's mobile phone and communicator.

Zhuang Zhao immediately stopped the car and confirmed that the cell phone was belonging to Yan Shi.

"A child? Whose child? A zombie's? How would I know about her child!"

"This is supposed to be asking us to find her child, but it doesn't say what the child looks like or where to look."

"If they don't find her child, they'll hurt Yan Shi, won't they?"

"Find it. Since it was given to you, it must be in District Nine. We have to find it even if we have to dig three feet into the ground."

"It shouldn't be too difficult. There were plenty of children before the apocalypse, but now you can't even find many under the age of seven."

"But at least you should tell us the child's age."

The question is, is this letter trustworthy?

"I had someone check the surveillance footage. In the footage, Yan Shi was taken away by a very fast black shadow. It's hard for a human to reach that speed."

Si Yue called around and asked people to go out and look for the children, especially the ones that had recently appeared.

Zhuang Zhao's gaze shifted between Yan Shi's location and the letter. If it really was a hostage exchange, the other party should have sent the child's information. But if it wasn't, what was the purpose of sending this letter? Was it to play a trick on someone?

Sangzhi also started calling for help. She wasn't good at finding children, but she was good at finding mutants. She described the mutant that had just delivered the message to the others, asking them to be merciful if they encountered it and try to capture it alive.

Zhuang Zhao had no connections, so he simply kicked the two out of the car and drove off to find Yan Shi himself.

He didn't like to sit idly by and wait for his death.

After the two got out of the car, the number of zombies surrounding the vehicle decreased by more than half. Zhuang Zhao rode ahead of everyone else and arrived at the town where Yan Shi was being held captive in a short time.

The strange creatures that could be seen everywhere in the town stared at Zhuang Zhao, but had no intention of eating him.

The only time he was stopped was outside the house where Yan Shi was.

"Yan Shi!" He didn't force his way in, but shouted into the room.

"Zhuang Zhao?" Yan Shi opened the door upon hearing the voice and saw Zhuang Zhao covered in sweat.

"You came here by yourself?" Yan Shi pulled Zhuang Zhao into the house, poured water, handed her fruit, and fanned her, providing excellent service.

The guards exchanged a glance and then closed the door.

They said they were keeping an eye on the woman, but they didn't say anyone else couldn't go in, so it's not a big problem.

The two shared information. Yan Shi told Zhuang Zhao about the child, and Zhuang Zhao told Yan Shi that Si Yue and Sang Zhi were already looking for the child.

"Otherwise, we can sneak away. I still have talismans on me, and you have a car. Escaping won't be difficult."

Yan Shi stayed here obediently because he didn't have a car; if he tried to escape on foot, he would be caught as soon as he went out.

"Don't even think about running away! What will happen to my child if you run away?"
