"Let's leave the city together, you're alone..."
"I can go out by myself."
“Even if the zombies can’t hurt you, it’s still dangerous for you to be alone. You should at least get out of the city and into a safe zone before we split up. Besides, you’re our benefactor. You can be tougher at times like this. Even if a fight breaks out, you shouldn’t be the one who suffers.”
"Guan Shu, you're perfect as a persuader," Yan Shi sighed, his face conveying a convincing yet irresistible charm.
"Thank you for the compliment," Guan Shu replied with a smile.
Yan Shi followed Guan Shu back and saw that the group of people were still waiting in the same place. They clearly couldn't do without her, and her vanity was greatly satisfied.
So what? Even if you don't like it, you still have to rely on me.
For the next two days, no one dared to criticize Yan Shi anymore, and with peace and quiet, even his mood improved.
The weather was nice on the day we left. The modified van kicked up a cloud of dust on the empty street. Everyone cheered and laughed in the van, filled with anticipation for a new life.
"Oh no, we seem to be surrounded by zombies."
"Didn't they say there were no zombies?"
"It was probably attracted by the scent of humans and just crashed into them."
"No, there are too many, we can't get through."
"What should we do? We need to think of something quickly, they're already scratching at the carriages."
The screeching sound of fingernails rubbing against the carriage further aggravated everyone's anxiety and unease.
"Let Yan Shi go. She can lure the zombies away, just a portion of them," someone whispered. The others immediately lowered their voices and looked towards Yan Shi.
"Get out of the way." Yan Shi stood up, picked up the wooden baseball bat beside him, and walked towards the carriage door.
The carriage door was the kind that opened wide enough for Yan Shi to get out. After Yan Shi got out, the carriage door was immediately closed, and then Yan Shi would look out through a small hole to see what was happening outside.
As soon as Yan Shi got out of the car, he was surrounded by zombies. More than a dozen hands reached out, all wanting to take a piece of human flesh back with them. As a result, some were swung away by Yan Shi's baseball bat, and some were swallowed by Yan Shi's hands.
Under Sangzhi's guidance, Yan Shi explored how to use the black hole and is now able to skillfully control how much it devours, though it occasionally malfunctions.
The stench of zombies immediately spread, and the zombies that had been attracted by Yan Shi stood there in confusion, not knowing what to do. Why couldn't they smell human scent anymore?
Yan Shi didn't stop until the zombies surrounding the car were almost cleared away. He then rinsed the residue off the baseball bat with water and finally used the baseball bat to knock on the car door.
"Open the door!"
The carriage door opened from the inside, and Yan Shi jumped in. Sure enough, everyone kept their distance from him.
Yan Shi didn't want to make things awkward, so he sat directly by the door. The car started up again, and the vents in the car were all opened, letting in the wind and carrying away the smell he didn't like.
After getting out of the car several times to clear out the zombie horde, Yan Shi was almost exhausted. Seeing that they were almost at the edge of the city, Yan Shi thought that he might as well finish clearing them out in one go before going back to the car to rest. Once they were out of the city, there should be no more zombie hordes.
She couldn't stand the strong smell of zombies. She leaned against a tree by the roadside and vomited for a long time, emptying her already weak stomach again before she finally finished. When she looked up, she found that the car had already driven away.
Yan Shi froze for a few seconds, then shouted, "Give me my luggage!"
Then a suitcase rolled off the car.
Yan Shi was momentarily at a loss, unsure whether to be angry at these treacherous and heartless people or relieved that they had at least left the suitcase behind. Although it was probably not out of kindness, but rather out of disgust that they had thrown it down.
My stomach was empty, and I felt nauseous. I had no energy and couldn't eat anything. I sucked on a piece of candy, sat down to rest for a while, and only when I was able to get up did I pick up my suitcase. I didn't even feel like looking at the contents. I just carried it to find a way to get around.
Fortunately, she had made preparations to leave the city alone beforehand, otherwise she would be completely at a loss now.
Riding her beloved little tricycle, she replenished her food supplies and, carrying her suitcase, headed out of town. Passing through hordes of zombies that ignored her, she pedaled her tricycle with its sidecar along deserted paths. A gentle breeze, cool on her face and carrying the scent of flowers, made for a pleasant experience.
I never expected that I would have the time and energy to go out and play after the apocalypse, and not have to worry about the future. I really don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Those who abandoned Yan Shi hadn't expected to encounter zombies so close to leaving the city, especially while widening the hole in the high-voltage power grid after getting out of the vehicle. Even though there were only three or five zombies, they forced them into a corner with nowhere to retreat.
In that instant, they realized that demolishing the bridge too early would lead to deaths.
