Chapter 117 What a pity

On Monday, the day Xu Zhiyi went to work, Xu Zhiyi brought the mental illness self-examination report to the department and handed it to Dr. Li personally.

Doctor Li started to examine the patient right in front of Xu Zhiyi.

After a moment, Dr. Li put the report in his hand and sighed, "What a pity, she is not."

Xu Zhiyi smiled and said, "You are a cardiothoracic surgeon, not a psychiatric surgeon. Please complete your own work first."

"Director, I know my job. I'm just curious about mental patients. I've been curious since I was in school. I think sometimes we're all like mental patients because we all have pressure, we all have times when we feel low, and we all have times when we give up. So, at these times, what's the difference between us and mental patients? So, I thought that woman really was a mental patient. I wanted to ask her a few questions, but now it's all in vain."

Xu Zhiyi rubbed his nose and said, "Okay, stop thinking about it and get back to work."

Dr. Li put the report in the drawer and then followed Xu Zhiyi to the outpatient clinic.

At the same time, Jiang Xiufen also plucked up the courage to go to the hospital and made an appointment to see the cardiothoracic surgery outpatient department.

Xu Zhiyi and Dr. Li were both stunned when they saw Jiang Xiufen walk in. They really couldn't talk about people behind their backs anymore.

Xu Zhiyi looked at Jiang Xiufen and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Jiang Xiufen sat in front of Xu Zhiyi, but her eyes were looking at Doctor Li. "It's nothing, just a headache."

Headache? Go straight to the cardiothoracic surgery clinic because of a headache?

"Have you caught a cold recently? Do you have a fever? Besides a headache, do you have any other symptoms? Do you have a cough or a runny nose?"

Jiang Xiufen shook her head. "Nothing, just a slight headache."

Xu Zhiyi nodded. "Do you want to get a checkup, or get an injection or take some medicine?"

Jiang Xiufen kept looking at Doctor Li out of the corner of her eye. After a moment's pause, she replied to Xu Zhiyi, "Give me some medicine."

After a while, Xu Zhiyi prescribed some medicine and Jiang Xiufen left.

After Jiang Xiufen left, Doctor Li shook his head again. "It seems I was wrong. That woman probably just had dark circles under her eyes. She's not mentally ill. After all, a mentally ill person wouldn't answer so fluently."

Xu Zhiyi didn't know how to answer Dr. Li, so she just picked up a book on the table and started reading.

At noon, in the cafeteria, Dr. Li was talking about Jiang Xiufen's situation this morning. Of course, Dr. Li didn't mention any names, but just talked about a certain patient, how that patient was.

After listening to this, Dr. Zhang also told Xu Zhiyi and the others what she had heard today, "Director, something very strange happened in the department next to ours on Saturday and Sunday. The nurse in that department said that a female family member came to our hospital on Saturday and walked back and forth outside the ward with her eyes twitching. I don't know what she was doing. The nurse in the department stopped her and asked a few questions, but the female family member hesitated and left without saying a few words.

"Director, do you think there's a spy in our hospital? Could it be because we successfully performed an aortic dissection surgery?" As he spoke, Doctor Zhang's voice became increasingly weaker and more panicked.

Xu Zhiyi shook his head. "I don't know either. I haven't heard of it. Besides, let's just do our own thing. If we really run into that female patient again, we can just arrest her and interrogate her."

Doctor Zhang nodded. "The director is right. If that spy comes once, she'll come a second and third time. As long as we catch her, everything will be solved."

However, Xu Zhiyi lowered his head and took Dr. Zhang's words to heart.

The hospital's leaders were indeed on high alert, but because Jiang Xiufen hadn't been in the hospital for several days, and nothing had been stolen, their concerns were somewhat relieved. They still sent people to secretly check the hospital's situation, not wanting to miss anything.

Just as the week was about to end, when Xu Zhiyi was leading the doctors in the cardiothoracic surgery department on ward rounds, she suddenly heard the conversation between Dr. Zhang and Dr. Li behind her and stopped immediately.

Doctor Zhang looked at the dark circles under Doctor Li's eyes and asked in confusion, "Little Li, didn't you get enough rest from working night shifts these past few days? Your dark circles are so heavy they could kill a mosquito."

Doctor Qian echoed, "Yeah, Xiao Li. The night shift isn't very busy this week. How come you're more tired than the day shift?"

Doctor Li yawned and said, "Senior Zhang, Senior Qian, this night shift is indeed not tiring. But it's not that I don't want to rest. I don't know what happened this week. After work on Monday, I rested at home for a day, and then I started the night shift on Tuesday. Only Tuesday night did I get a good night's sleep. I didn't get a good night's sleep the rest of the time."

Xu Zhiyi looked at Dr. Li and motioned for him to continue.

"Director, do you still remember the lesbian we saw in the outpatient clinic that day? The one with abnormal behavior, the one I thought was a mental patient, the one who had a mental illness test report.

After finishing my night shift on Wednesday, I saw her on the road again. She stopped me directly on the road. I thought she was not feeling well or needed help, but she just took my hand, introduced herself, and said that she wanted to date me. I was so scared that I ran away on my bike.
