Chapter 198 Reunion

An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu responded to the country's call and returned to the capital during the Chinese New Year of 1979. They rushed back to the capital before the Spring Festival.

When Xu Zhiyi and Qin Zheng learned that An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu were coming back, they also tried their best to rush to the capital, fearing that they would be too late. Xu Zhiyan in the Ningbo army was even more so.

Xu Zhiyi and Qin Zheng have been returning to the capital to accompany Xu Chengde whenever they have time off. Xu Zhiyan didn't have much time to go home during his first few years in the army, but since becoming the regiment commander, he's been able to go home more often—not a lot, but at least once a year.

That's pretty good.

Xu Chengde is retired now and no longer lives in the family compound. He lives in a retirement home. When he has nothing to do, he plays chess with his old friends. His life is quite leisurely and he is in good health.

Xu Zhiyi stood by the window, his eyes fixed on the door, afraid of missing them. Actually, Xu Zhiyi wanted to go pick up An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu, but every time Xu Zhiyi returned to the capital, he would be called over by the hospital's director and others to discuss medical skills. This time was no exception. Even if Xu Zhiyi wanted to go, he didn't have the time!

There's no way to get away!

On New Year's Eve, the lights come on and the city streets are filled with a strong festive atmosphere. On this special night, people rush home to reunite with their families and welcome the Spring Festival together.

An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu sat in the car, looking at the night view outside the window, and sighed in their hearts: They are finally back, and their family is finally reunited.

Xu Zhiyan, who was sitting in the front, looked back at An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu and talked about the changes over the years. He was glad that the two of them had gone out at the beginning, otherwise he really couldn't imagine it!

An Xiangwen stared out the window silently, while An Xiangwu said, "Zhiyan, how has Guaiguai been doing these years? Is she okay? Is her husband good to her?"

Even if Xu Zhiyan wanted to sow discord, he had no time to do so, so he had to answer honestly.

After hearing Xu Zhiyan's praise, An Xiangwu just nodded. After all, it was all as it should be. If Qin Zheng treated Xu Zhiyi badly, then he would be truly ungrateful.

After An Xiangwen, An Xiangwu and Xu Zhiyan got out of the car, they looked at the courtyard and felt a little nervous. After all, they hadn't seen each other as a family for more than ten years. They were afraid to see the elderly figures on both sides.

When Xu Zhiyi heard the sound of the car, he ran out without even putting on his clothes.

Although Qin Zheng had been playing chess with Xu Chengde, in his heart, Qin Zheng was still looking at Xu Zhiyi standing by the window, rather than the chess piece in front of him.

As soon as Xu Zhiyi made any movement, Qin Zheng immediately dropped the chess piece in his hand, took Xu Zhiyi's clothes, and followed Xu Zhiyi out.

Xu Chengde on the opposite side sighed and looked at the chess pieces thrown aside by Qin Zheng on the table. He was no longer surprised.

Xu Chengde threw the chess piece in his hand directly on the table, stood up and walked towards the door.

The brothers An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu, who were wandering at the gate of the courtyard and had never dared to go in, felt their hearts stop when they saw the door suddenly open from the inside. They stared at the person running out of the house.

Xu Zhiyi opened the door and stood at the door, looking at her elder uncle and younger uncle who were not far away from her. Xu Zhiyi's eyes were red and the hot tears in her eyes flowed down her cheeks.

Xu Zhiyi kept shouting, "Uncle, uncle." After that, Xu Zhiyi ran to the two of them and hugged An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu tightly.

Qin Zheng, who came out right after Xu Zhiyi, holding the clothes in his hands, had also become a decoration at this moment. Not to mention Xu Chengde who was standing in the room.

An Xiangwen patted Xu Zhiyi on the back and said, "Good boy, your uncle is back."

"Be good, don't cry." As he said that, An Xiangwu began to wipe the tears from Xu Zhiyi's face.

Just as the three of them calmed down, An Xiangwen, An Xiangwu, and Xu Zhiyi beside them walked into the house. Qin Zheng, standing at the door, watched the three people walk straight past him, his heart filled with endless pain.

Didn't he pay any attention to him? Didn't he see him? Wow!

Just when Qin Zheng still couldn't believe it, he saw Xu Zhiyan coming up from behind and patting Qin Zheng's arm. Originally, Xu Zhiyan wanted to say something to Qin Zheng, but when Xu Zhiyan saw the expression on Qin Zheng's face, he didn't say anything more. He just looked at Qin Zheng with a "comforting" look and went back into the house.

Qin Zheng listened to the laughter and joy in the room, and the whole room was filled with a warm atmosphere. Qin Zheng didn't need to look back to imagine that everyone's face was filled with happy smiles.

However, just when Qin Zheng was standing alone at the door feeling depressed, the people in the room had finished their greetings, and Xu Zhiyi finally remembered Qin Zheng.

So, Xu Zhiyi called Qin Zheng, pulled Qin Zheng back into the house, and began to introduce An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu to Qin Zheng.

Qin Zheng smiled and said, "Uncle, uncle, I am Qin Zheng, a good husband." After saying that, Qin Zheng stretched out his hand towards An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu.

An Xiangwen and An Xiangwu didn't move at all. They just stood in front of Qin Zheng, looking him over. After a moment, An Xiangwen came to his senses and said to Qin Zheng, "Hello."

An Xiangwu, who was standing by, also replied to Qin Zheng reluctantly: "Hello."
