Shi Wanwan's eyes softened with the tenderness of not seeing him for so long. "Yes, it's been a long time, Uncle."
Ye Qi: "?"
Ye Qi glanced at Chen Junheng's face, turned to look at her mother, and then looked back at Chen Junheng with a blank expression.
Ye Qi's mind raced, and while she herself remained calm, Shi Wanwan was nearly driven mad by her thoughts.
Shi Wanwan manually turned Ye Qi's head back to normal: "If you keep turning around like this, I'm going to get dizzy!"
"Okay, sure."
Chen Junheng looked down at the little potato standing next to Shi Wanwan. He was short and cute, but his eyes were filled with a clear stupidity.
A little...
Not very bright.
Chen Junheng rubbed Ye Qi's head: "Wanwan, is this your daughter?"
Shi Wanwan smiled and said, "Yes, her name is Ye Qi, and she is my youngest daughter."
Ye Qi scratched her head, feeling that she smelled something unpleasant. She sniffed hard and finally focused on Chen Junheng's arm. She wanted to remind him, but she didn't know what to call him. She glanced at him awkwardly.
Undecided, she steeled herself, tugged at her mother's sleeve, making Shi Wanwan lower her head, and then whispered:
"Mom, this... um... Mom's uncle, he smells of blood."
Upon hearing this, Shi Wanwan's expression turned sour. She immediately moved closer to Chen Junheng and, sure enough, smelled an unpleasant odor. She prepared to roll up Chen Junheng's sleeve.
Chen Junheng was so startled he almost jumped up; he was such an innocent young man!
How could I let a little girl I've known since I was a child lift my clothes?
But Shi Wanwan only wanted to know where Chen Junheng was injured. She gave Chen Junheng a disdainful look: "Uncle, I didn't lift it."
Her feint worked and fooled Chen Junheng.
She did it on purpose.
She then crossed her arms, looking unhappy, half threatening and half coaxing: "Uncle, tell me where you're injured, or I'll take action myself in the next second! Don't even think about escaping, you can't beat me!"
She knew her uncle's personality all too well.
If I don't try to trick her beforehand, she'll definitely be stubborn and never tell me!
But to his surprise, Chen Junheng was as stubborn as a rock: "Nonsense! Do you think your uncle looks like someone who would get hurt? Am I that weak!"
"Yes." When Shi Wanwan looked indifferent, she was surprisingly similar to Ye Qi in that indifference.
Ye Qi's gaze swept back and forth between the two faces. Why did this middle-aged man seem to lose his composure and become like a child when he was in front of his mother?
Mom also came alive again, no longer the gentle and dignified woman she used to be, except when she was caught eating junk food and scolded.
At that moment, Mom stood with her hands on her hips like a little girl: "You're so stubborn, your mouth is the stubbornest part of your whole body, isn't it!"
Chen Junheng's face hardened: "My fists are tough too, okay? Who dares to hurt me!"
Shi Wanwan didn't want to waste any more words: "Give me the car keys!"
Chen Junheng obediently did as he was told: "What do you need the car keys for?"
Shi Wanwan snatched the car keys and pulled Ye Qi toward the exit: "To the hospital!"
Chen Junheng caught up with a bitter face: "The child is still here, can't we leave the child with a perfect and strong impression!"
Unable to persuade her otherwise, Chen Junheng had no choice but to reveal the reason he had refused to admit it.
Ye Qi glanced back at Chen Junheng and blinked: "If we don't go to the hospital soon, the wound will heal."
Chen Junheng gave a token smile: "...Haha, it's terribly cold."
Ye Qi held Shi Wanwan's hand and asked, "Mom, are you even more amazing than your uncle?"
Shi Wanwan smiled and gently pinched Ye Qi's nose, teasing him like a child: "Of course, your mother is very capable, otherwise how could she keep you little ones in check?"
Ye Qi: "..."
She finally understood why the younger generation always got caught when they caused trouble.
Seemingly trying to save face, Chen Junheng used his injured arm to laugh as he picked up Ye Qi, saying, "Look, I'm as energetic as ever, I can carry another one, I'm really not injured!"
Shi Wanwan turned around, her beautiful brows furrowing: "Are you sure?"
"Of course! The blood you're smelling isn't mine, it's someone else's!"
"That's good."
When Chen Junheng saw that Shi Wanwan really didn't ask any more questions, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. After so many years apart, he didn't want his little princess, whom he hadn't seen in a long time, to know that he was injured and then worry about him.
He only hoped that the little princess's beautiful face would show more happiness than worry and sadness.
Even he himself wouldn't be good enough, oh, and neither would her father!
No one can make his little princess sad!
When Shi's father heard this, he wanted to slap him and scold his nephew for being hopelessly brainwashed.
Chen Junheng teased Ye Qi with a smile, "Little Qi Qi, you're so pretty. Do you have a boyfriend yet?"
Ye Qi shook her head seriously: "I'm not an adult yet, Mom's uncle."
She didn't know how to address her mother's uncle.
Chen Junheng laughed after hearing this: "It's my fault! Kids should just play happily. Why think about those things? Kid, don't follow your mother's example and start dating early!"
Chen Junheng pinched Ye Qi's nose.
Ye Qi slapped his hand away unhappily: "Don't pinch my nose!"
"Okay, okay! I won't pinch anymore!"
"Just call me Uncle like your mom does. I'm a year younger than your mom, so don't call me old! I won't listen!"
Ye Qi gave an impatient "oh".
This uncle is so childish.
The way he speaks is unpleasant!
But he is her mother's uncle, so Ye Qi has to show him some respect.
Chen Junheng's arm was as hard as steel, making her uncomfortable. She silently shifted her position, but no matter how she moved, she was still uncomfortable. She kept adjusting her posture, and accidentally sat down on his wound.
