The white-feathered ape is dead!
Its body, torn in two, slammed to the ground with a thud, staining the ground red with blood.
With a flick of her finger, A Yao extracted the white-feathered ape's soul. The soul struggled, but to no avail. A Yao took out a small bottle and collected the soul inside, sealing it away. It could be used to make magical artifacts or refine elixirs in the future.
The corpse was still usable, so he waved and put it into his storage bag.
After doing all this, Ayao returned to Nangong Qi's place.
The ground was riddled with cracks, and giant trees lay scattered and broken. The peerless handsome man in white stood on the ground, having already put away his magical artifacts and taken several pills. Watching the purple rainbow rushing towards him from afar, he gazed at the sky, his long hair blowing in the wind.
“Ah Yao…”
Nangong Qi called out softly, and a smile slowly bloomed on his face. Although he looked rather disheveled at the moment, it did not detract from the pleasing sight of his elegant demeanor and perfect appearance.
Ayao gracefully landed in front of him and asked, "Are you alright?"
"I'm feeling much better after taking some medicine," Nangong Qi said with a smile. "It's a good thing I met you, otherwise I probably would have been in grave danger this time. Ayao, you saved me again."
His violet eyes gazed at A Yao, eyes more captivating than the tranquil, beautiful starry sky. His voice was gentle as water, incredibly pleasant to hear.
Looking at Nangong Qi like this, Ayao thought of Luo Bai again.
"Twenty-five years have passed. You said you were going into seclusion to break through to the mid-stage of the Nascent Soul realm, and now you're already at the early stage of the Void Refinement realm. No wonder they say you're a genius that the Nangong family sees only once in a thousand years," A Yao said.
Nangong Qi chuckled: "How can I compare to you, Ayao? You're already at the late stage of the Void Refinement Realm. See, I told you I'd be overtaken by you. Now, not only have I been overtaken, but you've surpassed me. All the talents in the world would probably feel ashamed in front of Ayao."
Looking at the bloodstains on his body, Ayao asked, "How did you come to the Central Plains? And why did you come to this dangerous Chaisang Mountain alone?"
"After I successfully broke through to the early stage of the Void Refinement realm, I came out of seclusion. After coming out of seclusion, I happened to get a map and went to explore the cave of a senior. Who knew there was a teleportation array there. When I came to my senses, I was already here. The rest of the Nangong family are probably still in that cave."
"So this is Mount Chaisang? I've actually been teleported to the Central Plains." Nangong Qi's voice was filled with surprise.
He continued, "When I got here, I first encountered two demon cultivators at the Void Refinement stage. They attacked me without warning. I lost two puppets at the early Void Refinement stage. After finally getting rid of them, I was then entangled by that white-feathered ape. Luckily, I met you, Ayao."
"You sound like you're having a really bad time," Ayao said.
Nangong Qi looked at A Yao, and a smile slowly bloomed on his face again, like an ice lotus slowly opening. His purple eyes reflected A Yao's figure, and he said, "It's worth it to meet you here."
Ayao gazed into his eyes; those violet eyes were different from Luo Bai's golden eyes, but equally beautiful.
A gentle breeze blew by, and Ayao looked away, saying, "You should heal your wounds first!"
Nangong Qi just said he was fine, but how could he really be fine after taking a few pills? Ayao sat cross-legged on a large rock next to her and looked at Nangong Qi: "I'll protect you."
Nangong Qi didn't stand on ceremony. He found a place to sit cross-legged and immediately began to heal himself.
Two days passed in this way, and two days later, Nangong Qi finished healing. He stood up, and after his body was filled with spiritual light, he changed his white robes and became the same elegant and refined young man he always was.
As Ayao chatted with him, Nangong Qi said, "After I came out of seclusion, I wanted to go find you. But they said you were in seclusion, so I didn't go to the Lu family. Ayao, when did you come here? And what is your cultivation level...?"
As soon as he came out of seclusion, he asked all sorts of questions about A Yao, but no one mentioned that Miss Lu Qi had already reached the Void Refinement stage.
“They don’t know I’m here, nor do they know my current true cultivation level,” A Yao said, stroking her long, black hair with one hand as she looked at Nangong Qi. “You’re not allowed to tell anyone either.”
Nangong Qi laughed and said, "Okay, I'll keep it a secret!"
Ayao had been on Chaisang Mountain long enough, studying the enchantments of the white jade coffin day and night, and now she wanted to rest. She said to Nangong Qi, "Let's go! Let's leave this place!"
Nangong Qi nodded, and the two of them transformed into rainbows and flew high into the sky, heading towards the outside of Chaisang Mountain.
After leaving Chaisang Mountain, Nangong Qi and Ayao led the way towards the Tianshan Sect in the southern part of the Central Plains. After flying for several hours, they arrived at the location of the Tianshan Sect.
Seeing the towering peaks piercing the clouds ahead, with flashes of spiritual light occasionally appearing among them, Nangong Qi asked Ayao, "Which sect is this located here?"
Ayao replied, "Tianshan Sect."
Although Nangong Qi had never been to the Central Plains before, he was familiar with the various sects there, and he had heard of the Tianshan Sect.
"Tianshan Sect, I've heard that it's one of the four major powers in the southern part of the Central Continent. What are we doing here?" Nangong Qi asked.
Ayao smiled mysteriously and sped forward, with Nangong Qi following behind in confusion. A hundred feet ahead, numerous restrictions were laid out. Almost every sect had such restrictions, designed to prevent unauthorized personnel and external enemies from entering their sect.
A Yao passed directly through the barrier. The barrier didn't give any warning, but a gap opened up. Nangong Qi was stunned for a moment, then recovered and flew in through the gap.
Within the Tianshan Sect, the disciples of each peak continued their daily routine as usual.
Nangong Qi followed A Yao to a main peak. This main peak was rich in spiritual energy, clearly the best spiritual land of the Tianshan Sect. The main peak was covered by a powerful barrier, which A Yao removed with a wave of her hand.
On this main peak stands a magnificent palace. A Yao gracefully landed on a pavilion within the palace. Nangong Qi watched A Yao's retreating figure in surprise and followed her inside.
The palace was extremely luxurious. Nangong Qi's gaze fell on the flying fairy screen, the cherry blossom-colored gauze curtains, and the chaise lounge covered with snow-white fox fur. It was clear that this was the cave dwelling of a female cultivator.
Although Nangong Qi had never been to the Tianshan Sect, he could tell from his divine sense that this mountain had the most abundant spiritual energy in the entire Tianshan Sect, and the people living here must be the most esteemed members of the Tianshan Sect.
“Ayao, you…” Nangong Qi had a guess in his heart, but he was not sure. This guess was too bold.
Ayao smiled and sat down on the chaise lounge, casually picking up a carved fan from the side and gently fanning herself: "That's right, I am the head of the Tianshan Sect."
Although they had a bold guess, they were still very surprised to hear what A-Yao said.
