Chapter 345 Treasure Hunt

As soon as Feng Chu finished speaking, the Light Thunder Beast roared excitedly, as if in agreement.

"Coo-coo-squeak!"

Ayao: "..."

"You've become quite formidable now, the young emperor of the Phoenix Clan. Your name is known throughout the myriad realms," Feng Chu said with a smile.

Ayao laughed and said, "It's alright!"

"You just said you came to look for something. What are you looking for?" Feng Chu asked curiously.

Upon hearing this, Ayao took out Xu Fengzhi's childhood doodles and showed them to Feng Chu. Feng Chu took the paper, looked at the scribbles on the white paper—they were just scribbles! He asked Ayao:

"What is this?"

"Drawn by Xu Fengzhi when he was a child."

"Huh? What are you going to do with it?"

“He didn’t know he was Lou Munan’s clone when he was a child, but he had some fragmented memories. These memories, which seem like random scribbles, actually contain some key information,” A Yao said. “You remember my white jade coffin from before? It was found by deciphering the mark on a scribbled talisman he drew.”

"That white jade coffin contains the Mirror of Cause and Effect. Have I told you about this before?"

Feng Chu shook his head.

He remembered the white jade coffin, but Ayao hadn't told him that it originally contained the Mirror of Cause and Effect. Feng Chu listened, then looked down at the doodle in his hand and said:

"So, you think Xu Fengzhi is hiding some treasure?"

Ayao nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

“Since it was something he left behind, it absolutely cannot fall into the hands of others,” Ayao said.

She looked at the boy in front of her: "Where are you going now? If you're not busy, come with me on a treasure hunt. If we find anything good, I can share some with you."

Feng Chu nodded in agreement.

Ayao took the doodles from his hand. After thinking for a moment, she took out another stack of Xu Fengzhi's childhood doodles from her storage space. After comparing them, she said to Feng Chu, "Let's go over there!"

After saying that, it flew off ahead.

Feng Chu and the Light Thunder Beast followed behind her.

Several days later.

The mountains are majestic, the ancient trees reach the sky, and the clouds and mist are ethereal.

Suddenly, two streaks of light arrived from afar and stopped atop a mountain peak, transforming into two figures—Feng Chu and A Yao.

The white-robed, golden-eyed youth, holding his spirit pet, looked down at the ground below, then surveyed his surroundings. He said, "Is this the place? It doesn't look like there are any treasures here. Although the scenery is quite nice, the spiritual energy here is thin, and there's nothing else special about it."

Ayao said, "It should be right, this is the place. If it were so easy to spot the treasure here, wouldn't someone have already gotten there first? How could Xu Fengzhi be so stupid?"

After speaking, A Yao flew downwards, and a compass appeared in her hand. As the compass flew forward, A Yao cast a spell on it, and the compass emitted a red light. The pointer on it began to shake, and a beam of purple light shot out from the compass, pointing to the place shrouded in thick fog.

Ayao smiled and said to Feng Chu:

"Come with me."

Following the purple beam of light, A Yao flew to a rift valley. A Yao and Feng Chu stopped above the rift valley, looking down.

The abyss below was hundreds of thousands of feet deep, the limit of what divine sense could detect. In other words, it might be even deeper. A strange light gleamed in Feng Chu's eyes, and his little face finally showed the excitement of treasure hunting: "Interesting, there's actually such a deep rift. I didn't even see it with my divine sense when I was up there."

He was about to fly down when Ayao grabbed one of his arms.

“Be careful, there are definitely traps and restrictions. I’ll go first, you follow behind me,” Ayao said.

Back in the Canglan Realm, although A Yao had taught Feng Chu the art of enchantment, the boy didn't like studying any magic arrays or restrictions. Whenever he encountered one, he would simply break it with brute force. A Yao understood him, so she didn't let him act recklessly and instead had him stay with her.

The restrictions set up by Xu Fengzhi are definitely extraordinary; if she acts recklessly, she might suffer a great loss. She doesn't want to fall into Xu Fengzhi's trap; that would be too unfair.

Feng Chu did not object.

A phoenix totem lit up in A Yao's pupils. Through her Eye of Truth, she saw numerous layers of restrictions below, densely distributed throughout the abyss. She immediately began to break them. With a light tap of her finger, many magnificent phoenix feathers appeared in the air. These feathers shot downwards, and upon touching the restrictions, they vanished as if melting away.

"Come!"

Ayao flew downwards, with Feng Chu following behind her with the Light Thunder Beast.

After flying tens of thousands of feet downwards, the phoenix feather disappeared. Ayao retrieved hundreds of array flags from her storage space and continued to break the restrictions below.

Feng Chu followed behind her and asked:

"You are now the young emperor of the Phoenix Clan, why did you come alone? Without your subordinates?"

"Well, I don't really want too many people to know Xu Fengzhi's secret," Ayao said.

"Then why did you tell me this and send me here?" Feng Chu asked.

Ayao turned to look at him, thought for a moment, and then smiled and said, "How can that be the same? We've been through thick and thin together."

Most importantly, Feng Chu knows Xu Fengzhi and has intricate connections with Lou Munan. He was involved in her past, comes from the same small world as her, and can understand her feelings. Even her trusted confidants wouldn't be able to comprehend her feelings for Xu Fengzhi.

As Feng Chu said this, the corners of his lips couldn't help but turn up. Having cultivated for over fifteen thousand years, the only friend he could truly call a life-or-death confidante was A Yao.

A Yao continued to break through the restrictions, but the deeper she went, the more difficult they became. This was her clone, with only the cultivation of a Golden Immortal, so her speed in breaking through them was much slower than her main body. When she reached a depth of 150,000 zhang, a careless mistake caused all the restrictions to malfunction, and a terrifying suction force came from below, pulling her and Feng Chu down violently.

"Aaaaaaahh ...

Ayao, Feng Chu, and the Light Thunder Beast exclaimed in unison, followed by a series of loud crashes that shattered many light screens, like three large rocks repeatedly smashing through mirrors.

"What's going on? Aren't you a master of restrictions?"

Feng Chu wanted to fly, but the gravity was too strong, and there was no way to resist it.

Ayao said loudly:

Even experts make mistakes!

Bang bang bang bang——

After piercing through hundreds of light barriers, Feng Chu and A Yao plummeted to the bottom, their two enhanced lightning beasts crashing heavily into the ground, creating three craters.

Ayao is already a pure-blooded phoenix, with a powerful physical body and the protection of her life essence. Feng Chu has also tempered his physical body over the years, consuming various rare and precious herbs, making his physical body very strong. Even though the Light Thunder Beast was thrown around and saw stars, the little guy was unsteady on his feet when he crawled out of the pit.

"Where...where is this?"

Feng Chu stood up and looked around. This place looked like an underground palace.
