Chapter 346 Flower Face

“I think I didn’t make a mistake just now, we’ve come down. This is the place we’re looking for,” Ayao said.

Ayao had already stood up. She looked around and saw huge pillars carved with ancient totems. The murals on the walls were all covered with dust, and the ground was covered with a thick layer of ash.

After using her magic to clean the dust off her dress, A Yao spread her divine sense and looked around the underground palace. The underground palace was not large, but it was not small either.

People used to live here; traces of their presence remain, such as the tables, chairs, shelves, and other furnishings, all of which prove that someone once practiced meditation here. However, the tables, chairs, and shelves are now empty, as if someone came here and looted everything long ago.

Ayao, Feng Chu, and even the little Light Thunder Beast scattered here to search for traces of treasure, but they couldn't find it no matter how hard they looked.

"There's absolutely nothing here, not even a piece of scrap metal," Feng Chu said dejectedly.

The Lightning Beast had droopy ears and looked disappointed.

What a waste of time! The baby fell and hurt so much, but there was nothing to show for it. It was all for nothing.

Ayao lowered her head, deep in thought: With so many restrictions set up, there must be something here. There are no signs of a fight here, nor any traces of forcefully breaking through the magic array or restrictions. If someone has been here before, that person should be very familiar with this place.

Could it be Xu Fengzhi's clone?

Could it be Mie Xin Luo? Did he come here and take all the treasures? Or is it one of Xu Feng's other avatars?

"Hey, what are you thinking about? You seem so engrossed in your thoughts." Feng Chu gently nudged A Yao with his elbow.

Ayao said, "I'm wondering if it was Xu Fengzhi's clone who took everything away from here."

"Xu Fengzhi's clone?" Feng Chu blinked her beautiful golden eyes.

“He must have many clones, but I only know one right now,” Ayao said.

Feng Chu recalled that over ten thousand years ago, A Yao projected three Immortal Emperors who looked exactly like Xu Fengzhi. Xu Fengzhi was an incarnation of Lou Munan, and Xu Fengzhi himself had many incarnations…

It feels so chaotic, like a complete mess.

"Since there's nothing here, let's go out!" said Ayao.

"How do we get out?" Feng Chu asked.

The previous entrance was gone, and the entire underground palace was now sealed off. Ayao looked at the runes on the wall, and the golden phoenix totem in her eyes lit up again. She said:

"Let me deduce the formation here." As she spoke, she formed hand seals and cast spells on one of the walls. The runes on that wall lit up with a purple light. Then she turned around, formed hand seals again, and cast spells on the other wall.

Rumble—

The entire underground palace shook, and numerous magic arrays appeared all around. Ayao was merely testing the waters, observing the operation of these arrays. She watched the flowing runes, her mind racing with calculations. Just then, she and Feng Chu both heard a scream, a scream coming from above them.

Bang bang bang bang——

Feng Chu and A Yao looked up and saw a golden vortex appear in the sky. Then, to their surprise, they watched a figure fall from the vortex. Feng Chu and A Yao immediately dodged, and with a loud bang, the figure crashed into the ground, creating a large crater.

Ayao, Feng Chu, and the Light Thunder Beast all stared in astonishment at the creature in the pit. What, what's going on?

A girl in red climbed out of the pit. She was extremely beautiful, with a pair of emerald eyes that sparkled brighter than the stars. Her long brown hair was tied into a ponytail with a jeweled crown, and her skin was fair with a rosy glow. She had a graceful and tall figure.

She stood up, dusted herself off, and exuded a free and unrestrained heroic spirit in every gesture.

A Yao was very surprised to see her. She recognized the girl in red; she was Hua Yan, the disciple of Dao Kuang Li Yan.

When Hua Yan saw A Yao, she exclaimed, "It's you!"

Ayao asked in surprise, "You know me?"

In this life, she and Hua Yan had never met before, yet Hua Yan knew her?

"Who doesn't know Feng Yao, the young emperor of the Phoenix Clan!" Hua Yan said with a smile, her voice clear and melodious.

Ayao smiled and said, "I am Feng Yao. May I ask your name, fellow Daoist?"

Ayao is asking a question she already knows the answer to.

"My name is Hua Yan, and my master is the Immortal Emperor Li Yan," Hua Yan said with a smile.

After she finished speaking, Feng Chu looked at her in surprise and then sized her up. This girl is Dao Kuang Li Yan's disciple! Although it was their first meeting, hearing that she was a disciple of a Celestial Emperor inevitably piqued Feng Chu's curiosity.

The Lightning Beast perched on Feng Chu's shoulder also looked at Hua Yan with curiosity.

Hua Yan possessed the strength of a peak Taiyi Golden Immortal. Aside from her good looks and seemingly carefree and unrestrained personality, Feng Chu couldn't discern anything else about her.

Feng Chu stared intently at Hua Yan, catching her attention. She looked at the handsome young man in white before her, her emerald eyes filled with curiosity, and asked A Yao, "Who is this fellow Daoist?"

“Feng Chu, he is my good friend Feng Chu,” A Yao introduced.

"Friend Feng!" Hua Yan smiled and clasped her hands in greeting.

Seeing the other party's politeness, Feng Chu also clasped his hands in a polite gesture: "Friendly fellow Daoist Hua Yan!"

Looking at Feng Chu and A Yao, A Yao recalled the battle between their two masters in their past lives. To this day, she still didn't understand why Xie Chen and Li Yan had become enemies, or why their hatred was so irreconcilable. In her previous life, she had met Hua Yan several times and considered her a friend, but not a close one, mainly because they hadn't met often enough. Hua Yan was always clinging to her master.

After Li Yan died, she never saw Hua Yan again, nor did she hear any news about her.

"Fellow Daoist Hua Yan, how did you get in here?" A Yao asked.

"I don't know either! I was just flying up there when suddenly a powerful force pulled me down from the sky. By the way, where am I? How did you all end up here?" Hua Yan said.

Upon hearing Hua Yan's words, A Yao and Feng Chu exchanged a glance.

Feng Chu: You were setting up those formations just now, and you accidentally pulled her down, right?

Ayao: Maybe so!

When she was testing the formation here, she may have accidentally activated the restrictions outside, thus pulling Hua Yan down as she passed by.

"Ahem..." Ayao coughed twice. "Actually, we came in quite a bit without really knowing what was going on. We were just flying through the sky when suddenly we felt a force pulling us here. We're trying to figure out how to get out."
