Ayao tried to grab him again, but Lei Di waved his hand, and bolts of lightning struck down, forcing Ayao back more than ten feet. Then, the lightning pattern totem transformed into a huge barrier, enveloping him and the Lord of the Black Nest. Ayao tried to enter the barrier, but the barrier shot out bolts of lightning thousands of feet long, forcing Ayao back again.
She could only watch helplessly as the Lord of the Black Nest and the Thunder Emperor walked toward each other and then merged into one.
Bolts of lightning struck from all directions, engulfing the massive barrier. Then the lightning turned pitch black, and the barrier transformed into a gigantic black honeycomb.
From within the Black Nest erupted an incomparably terrifying pressure, no less powerful than Lou Munan's. The entire Tomb of the Thunder Emperor shook violently, and countless bolts of lightning transformed into mystical totems.
Ayao stood there, stunned.
After a long while, she watched as the black nest opened, and a man dressed in a jet-black robe walked up to her on lightning. He had flowing silver hair, golden eyes, handsome features, a cold expression, and an aura that was terrifying and suffocating. However, when he looked at her, a tenderness appeared in his eyes.
He stood in front of her and reached out to stroke her face.
Ayao's eyes stung. She slapped the man in front of her hard across the face, then cried as she hugged him and buried her face in his chest.
Crystalline tears rolled down her cheeks, and the man reached out to wipe them away. She looked up at him, gazing at his face, momentarily unable to tell who was standing before her.
In her eyes, he suddenly became Xu Fengzhi, then the Lord of the Black Nest, and then the Thunder Emperor.
"Who...who are you now?" she asked him.
He lowered his head, gently cupped her chin with one hand, and kissed her lips. At first, it was just a light kiss, but as the kiss deepened, passion took hold; he was passionate, and so was she.
He wrapped one arm around her waist, and she tilted her head back slightly with her eyes closed.
After a long while, their lips finally parted.
"No matter who I am, I belong to you." He stroked her face, his gaze tender.
The thought of him facing off against Lou Munan, and the possibility of losing him soon, made Ayao reach out and hug him tightly, as if letting go would cause him to disappear. She was filled with a mixture of excitement and sorrow; he would be devoured by Lou Munan in an instant. She even wanted to unite with him right there, to meld herself into his bones and blood, to possess his body and soul.
She really wanted to go crazy.
She now regrets not cultivating with Xu Fengzhi back then; she should have slept with him in the Burial Dragon Mountain Secret Realm.
Without Xu Fengzhi, she couldn't keep any of his alter egos either.
She admitted she was being sentimental; she liked all his alter egos. Because they were all him, why couldn't she like them? But they were all devoured without exception. Lou Munan, that hateful Lou Munan, and now, she was about to lose the one right in front of her too.
She desperately wanted to go crazy right now, to push him to the ground and make love to him right there. If she was destined to lose him, then at least she had to possess him once. She wanted to use her body and her soul to make him remember her, and to make herself remember him.
Her eyes burned with desire, her breathing quickened, and she abruptly pushed the man in front of her to the ground. She sat on top of him, reaching out to undo his belt, and lowered her head to kiss him. The man's breathing also quickened, but he remained rational. He grasped one of her hands, stopping her movements.
"Ah Yao, you...you get up quickly..." His voice was restrained.
"No!" Tears welled in her eyes.
The man sat up and grabbed her two restless hands: "Calm down, now is not the time to do these things."
"Didn't you say you belonged to me? Then belong to me completely!"
She hugged him tightly, her body burning hot. She pulled open his outer robe and kissed his collarbone and his chest.
"Ah Yao, calm down, we...we don't have time."
He grabbed her hands tightly.
Rumble—
The sound of thunder echoed between heaven and earth. Ayao sensed a terrifying aura rapidly approaching. It was Lou Munan's aura; Lou Munan was about to arrive.
She released Lei Di, stood up, straightened her clothes, and remained silent.
The silver-haired, golden-eyed man walked up to her and said, "Are you so sure I'll lose?"
Ayao remained silent.
After a long pause, she finally said, "But you don't have a sure chance of winning."
The worst outcome was that he was consumed, and Xu Fengzhi never awoke. Neither he nor Xu Fengzhi remained; she was gone forever.
"Besides you, does Xu Fengzhi have any other clones?"
"have."
Ayao remembered the red-haired man who had attacked her before, and she said, "The red-haired one who attacked me before, were you controlling him?"
Lei Di nodded: "I just didn't want you to come here too soon."
"Why didn't you devour him and all the other clones?" Ayao asked.
“They have other uses,” Lei Di said, looking into A Yao’s eyes. “If I did something that disgusted you, would you forgive me?”
Ayao was slightly taken aback. She asked, "What did you do?"
The Thunder Emperor looked into the distance and did not answer her.

The pure white petals were stained with filth. On the rock that resembled an altar, the girl with black hair and red eyes slowly focused her unfocused gaze. She reached out and pushed away the man who was pressing down on her. He had lost all life and become a corpse.
