Chapter 487 Ordinary

Feng Chu said dismissively, "Don't you think I can't run away?"

"So, you don't really like her."

"Who likes her?"

"Are you jealous of me?" Lou Munan joked with a smile.

Like a kitten whose tail had been stepped on, Feng Chu said angrily, "Who's jealous of you? Are you as good-looking as me? If it weren't for the fact that I ate whatever I wanted when I was little, I would definitely be more popular than you now."

"Do you want to grow up? Actually, I have a way," Lou Munan said.

Feng Chu thought for a moment, then shook her head: "I used to think about it, but I don't really think about it anymore. Let's just forget about it. There are more worries to come as we grow up."

Then, Lou Munan didn't say anything more.

Actually, he prefers Feng Chu as he is now. Of course, it's also a bit of a regret that he can't see what he'll look like when he grows up.

The night was still, and the small boat drifted with the current.

The mountains ahead grew increasingly precipitous, and the river's current became more turbulent. Suddenly, many scarlet eyes lit up in the mist ahead, and countless dark figures emerged from the darkness, stealthily approaching using the mist. Many winged beings with jet-black wings surrounded Feng Chu and Lou Munan.

The small boat stopped.

A tall, muscular winged being appeared. He stood high above, looking at Feng Chu and Lou Munan, his eyes narrowing dangerously: "Where are you two going, fellow Daoists?"

Feng Chu looked into the river and saw many white bones at the bottom. He then looked up and around. Lou Munan, holding a folding fan, chuckled lightly without any sign of tension, "The moon is bright and the breeze is gentle; let's just take a stroll. Are you all out for a walk too?"

The winged man smiled sinisterly: "Taking a stroll? Do you know that you've wandered onto our winged human territory? Leave behind one million immortal jades, or spare your lives. The choice is yours."

As soon as he finished speaking, all the winged people around him revealed ferocious expressions, each one radiating murderous intent towards Feng Chu and Lou Munan, with some even licking their blades.

"Hehe~" Lou Munan chuckled and said to Feng Chu beside him, "Have we been robbed?"

Feng Chu crossed her arms over her chest: "Isn't it obvious?"

"That's a real headache. I don't have a million immortal jades." Lou Munan sighed, closed his folding fan, and tapped his head with the fan in frustration.

Upon hearing this, the winged people realized that the other party did not want to pay.

Instantly, they all let out a hiss, unfurled their jet-black wings, and charged towards Feng Chu and Lou Munan, each wielding its own weapon. These winged beings were all at the Celestial Immortal stage, while Feng Chu and Lou Munan were, in their eyes, a True Immortal and an Earth Immortal respectively. How could they possibly take Feng Chu and Lou Munan seriously?

Feng Chu's eyes turned cold. When these winged people were only two zhang away from the small boat, countless flying swords appeared out of thin air. Golden sword lights fell like rain, illuminating the dark night. The winged people were terrified as the flying swords pierced their bodies, and one by one they turned to ashes.

Feng Chu did not kill the leader of the winged people. He watched his subordinates being killed in an instant, and his face turned pale with fear.

"Spare me, spare me, senior!" The leader of the winged people knelt on the rock, kowtowing repeatedly to Feng Chu. "Senior, I was blind! Please spare me!!"

"How many people have you killed? Did they beg for mercy like this before? You let them go, didn't you?" Feng Chu stretched out his finger, hooking a small sword around his hand. The golden sword was not much bigger than his finger, gleaming with a dazzling light, and twirled in Feng Chu's hand.

Seeing that begging for mercy was useless, the winged leader immediately unleashed his strongest divine power. His body swelled from a dozen feet to a mere ten feet in an instant, thunderclouds surged in the sky, and streaks of azure lightning struck down towards Feng Chu and Lou Munan. Countless jet-black feathers fell from his wings, transforming into jet-black longswords that shot towards Feng Chu and Lou Munan like a rain of pear blossoms.

The winged man, without looking back, transformed into a long red rainbow and sped away.

Black swords rained down from the sky, and a thunderstorm struck. Feng Chu didn't even raise an eyebrow, but released an astonishing pressure from his body. The black swords shattered into dust inch by inch, and the thunderstorm was deflected. The winged man was struck by the deflected thunderstorm, screamed in agony, and his soul was scattered under the power of the thunder.

He was defeated by his own move.

On the small boat, Feng Chu was still playing with his little sword, not even glancing at the winged leader.

Lou Munan chuckled: "Brother Feng is truly amazing! I've been traveling with you for so many years, and I still didn't know your true cultivation level."

Feng Chuqian stared at the man beside him with his golden eyes and said, "I don't know your true cultivation level either." At first, he really thought this guy was a Celestial Immortal, but over the past thousand years, he has found Xu Changfeng to be unfathomable.

"Brother Feng is too kind. Am I not just an ordinary celestial being?" Lou Munan said with a light smile, waving his folding fan.

"Then I'm just an ordinary, unremarkable immortal," Feng Chu said.

Lou Munan burst into laughter.

The two continued drinking, letting the small boat drift downstream. The mountains on both sides gradually became gentler, their height decreasing, but the scenery on both banks became even more beautiful. Many flowering trees grew on the cliffs, and when the wind blew, petals fell like rain onto the small boat.

Feng Chu opened her palm and caught a petal.

Lou Munan looked at the boy sitting at the stern of the boat and thought of his nephew. He remembered a long, long time ago, when he and Xiaoyue were also sitting in a small boat like this, drifting downstream, with flowering trees on both sides, petals falling everywhere, and Xiaoyue happily looking up and catching the falling petals.

"So many flowers! Uncle, Uncle, can we make desserts with these petals?"

Lou Munan stared at Feng Chu for a long time before the sound of a flute coming from afar pulled him back to reality.

Lou Munan's expression changed upon hearing the flute music.

Sitting at the stern, Feng Chu looked in one direction. His divine sense traversed the mountain peaks and saw a man in white robes standing atop one of them.

The silver-haired, golden-eyed man was impeccably handsome and charming. He played a melodious tune on a jade flute, and the night breeze blew his long silver hair and snow-white robes.

Luo Bai?

What is the Dragon Emperor doing here?

Feng Chu was surprised.

Feng Chu and Luo Bai have never really interacted. Although he knows that A Yao and Luo Bai are having an ambiguous relationship, he has only spoken to Luo Bai a handful of times. He doesn't know why, but he just doesn't like this guy.

Lou Munan looked at Luo Bai, and their spiritual senses touched. Luo Bai smiled, showing no malice whatsoever.

The small boat continued downstream and soon arrived at the foot of the mountain where Luo Bai was.

Luo Bai stood atop the mountain, looking down. Lou Munan stood on the boat, gazing at Luo Bai high above. One wore a gentle smile, the other remained expressionless. Luo Bai had stopped playing his instrument, simply watching Lou Munan and Feng Chu, seated in their small boat, drift downstream, receding further and further into the distance.

He did not make a move.

Lou Munan did not make a move.
