There are three main types of strange beasts in the Canglan Realm: demonic beasts, wild beasts, and savage beasts. Among them, demonic beasts have the highest intelligence; those at levels six and seven are almost indistinguishable from humans in terms of intelligence, and those at level eight can transform into human form. Wild beasts and savage beasts, on the other hand, have stronger attack power than demonic beasts, but they can only transform into human form upon reaching the True Immortal stage.
Because wild beasts and savage beasts have low intelligence, cultivators prefer them as spirit pets over demonic beasts.

The black jade snake struggled, but no matter what it did, it could not break free from the blood-red halo. It then suddenly shrank its body and, taking advantage of the blood-red halo's inability to shrink, broke free and pounced on A Yao again.
Ayao stood in the air and struck out with her palm towards the Black Jade Serpent.

She was able to instantly kill the black jade serpent mainly because the Purple Cloud Heavenly Robe provided her with immortal power, allowing her to use immortal techniques. Although she couldn't fully unleash them, killing a beast in the Void Refinement stage was a piece of cake.

Wearing the Purple Cloud Heavenly Robe, A Yao was even more unharmed. The two of them got up from the ground. Xu Fengzhi looked around. This was an enormous underground palace. The palace was obviously ancient, with cracks and withered tree roots squeezed into the cracks on the walls. The pearls embedded in the walls gave off a faint light.
