Chapter 73 The Trapped People

"You, you..."

Looking at his brothers, Lu Yunshen realized that apart from Lu Yunqi who lowered his head, they were all unmoved. He understood that Xiao Qi's life was as worthless as grass in their eyes.

From the moment the secret realm began to collapse until the exit and entrance disappeared, only a short time had passed.

In such a short time, most people, except those who were close to the exit, were unable to escape.

There were very few Void Refinement stage experts left at Burial Dragon Mountain. They weren't guarding the entrances and exits; instead, they were scattered throughout various parts of Burial Dragon Mountain, either meditating or playing chess and drinking with elders from other sects.

They stayed here to deal with emergencies, but who could have imagined that the entrance and exit would suddenly disappear, and so abruptly.

The time between the collapse of the secret realm and the disappearance of the entrance was too short; by the time they noticed something was wrong, it was already too late.

"Exports, there are no exports."

"The entrance is gone too."

"What should we do?"

"My sister hasn't come out yet."

"My senior brother is inside too, what should we do?"

Those who emerged were either overjoyed at surviving the ordeal, or deeply worried because their brothers, sisters, friends, and fellow disciples had failed to escape in time.

————

Inside the secret realm, after the entrance and exit disappeared, the entire sky darkened, plunging the entire realm into darkness. Crimson cracks across the sky resembled wounds in the heavens, each crack possessing a powerful suction force. Everything high in the sky was sucked in and crushed by the spatial turbulence.

The crowd was terrified. The secret realm was cracking open, and the scene remained hellish. Huge storms raged throughout the realm, lava surged in the fissures, mountains collapsed with a rumble, and the cracks in the ground grew increasingly exaggerated, with fissures stretching for tens of thousands of feet everywhere.

Ayao and Xu Fengzhi stood in mid-air, gazing ahead as they watched the exit disappear. Ayao felt a pang of regret; if she had known earlier that the exit would vanish, she would have swapped positions with her metal-elemental clone, who was closest to the exit, once her secret realm collapsed.

Of course, she could switch places with her clone now, but such a switch between inside and outside the realm would require the destruction of one clone. If she had no other choice, A Yao would not have done it.

The area inside and outside the secret realm can be considered two different worlds.

Within the same realm, clones can exchange positions with each other or with the original without incurring a cost. However, if they are not within the same realm, the cost is the destruction of the clone.

Ayao's main body and earth-elemental clone haven't left yet, but her fire, wood, and metal-elemental clones have.

“This exit has disappeared, let’s go check another one,” Xu Fengzhi said to A Yao.

When the others saw the exit disappear, they had the same thought as Xu Fengzhi: that the other exit might still be open, so they immediately headed towards the other exit.

Ayao said, "It's closed, everything's gone. The entrances and exits are all closed now. Before long, the sky will fall, and the secret realm will completely collapse, turning into fragments that will be swallowed up by the spatial turbulence."

“Ayao, you must have a way to get out, right?” Xu Fengzhi looked at Ayao’s calm expression, not flustered at all.

His guards all looked at A Yao.

Ayao nodded: "There is a way."

"That's great!" Xu Fengzhi said.

Seeing the bewildered crowd, Ayao shouted, "All the other exits from the secret realm are gone! If you want to live, follow me!"

Her voice carried an inner strength, and could be heard for miles around. Many eyes turned to her, and A Yao turned and flew off in one direction, with Xu Fengzhi and his guards immediately following.

Many people had witnessed A Yao's fight with Feng Chu and admired her strength. Admiring strength is human nature, especially in desperate situations. Suddenly, a hundred long rainbows followed A Yao and flew away. However, some people did not believe her and did not follow her when they saw that she flew in a different direction than the other exit.

They thought there might be another way out.

Ayao doesn't consider herself a great philanthropist; she only helps those who believe her, and doesn't care about those who don't.
