Suddenly, the entire camp seemed to descend into chaos.
Lu Yuan had no idea what had happened until the next morning when the gunfire finally subsided.
Then the loudspeaker started broadcasting the message in a loop.
The broadcast content will consist of the following points.
Firstly, due to mistakes in the camp and some inequalities in accommodations, a unified allocation and management system is now being implemented to meet everyone's needs.
Secondly, from now on, all class distinctions within the camp will be reset to zero. From now on, they will all be referred to as civilians. They will no longer have any privileges.
Thirdly, the direct superiors of these civilians are the army, which consists of captains and ordinary soldiers. If four people are found to be instigating such a riot, they will be dealt with according to the rules and regulations of the camp.
Fourthly, the camp will soon be assigning locations, and everyone must return to their own accommodations; otherwise, they will be considered to have violated the camp rules and will be dealt with accordingly.
Lu Yuan, Xiao Shan, Wang Mingming, Shi Quan, Hei Zi, and Chen Yan and her husband sat around in the large living room.
No one spoke; everyone had many things on their minds.
The camp has been in chaos since last night.
It is unknown how many people died during this period.
Just those who peered through the windows and cracks in the doors from outside the bridge were enough to kill at least twenty people.
This horrific event erupted in the camp, making Lu Yuan and everyone else realize that the camp was now on the verge of exploding.
They are currently unable to leave their homes, all communication has been cut off, and all they can do is quietly wait for their assignments within their own small plot of land.
After a good night, Lu Yuan finally raised his head and said softly.
"We can't stay trapped here forever; we have to find a way to get out of this hellhole!"
As soon as Lu Yuan finished speaking, Xiao Shan, who was standing next to him, immediately nodded.
“That’s right, we can’t stay here. Our families are still at the camp. We have to find a way to leave as soon as possible. There’s nothing left for us to miss here!”
Shi Quan also sighed slightly. He took out a slightly yellowed photograph from his pocket and gently stroked it a couple of times.
"I don't know how the children are doing. I just want to know how they are doing!"
Hei Zi and Chen Yan held hands tightly, but they didn't seem to have any particular thoughts.
Since Chen Zhongzheng died, it seems that their only relatives now are Lu Yuan and a few others.
Everyone's thoughts are pretty much the same now: to leave this awful place as soon as possible.
So what they do has nothing to do with them.
That night, the gunfire in the camp finally stopped, and all sorts of boats began to dart around the camp.
The ship carried many people, each carrying various kinds of luggage, and they were then transported to one place after another.
"They're starting to assign moving tasks!"
Lu Yuan, with a cigarette in his hand, stood by the window and glanced outside. He immediately understood what these people were up to.
Xiao Shan hugged Lu Yuan from behind, rested her cheek against his shoulder and back, and whispered.
"Can we still go back now? Is there any chance we can get back alive?"
After hearing Xiaoshan's words, Lu Yuan turned his head and gently kissed her forehead.
"We can go back, we definitely can go back. This isn't our home, we have to go back. No matter how difficult it is, we must go back!"
Xiao Shan nodded vigorously. Lu Yuan could sense that she was crying; her wet tears soaked the clothes on his shoulders.
Around 3 a.m., no one was asleep. They hadn't slept for a day and a night, and their bodies might not be able to take it if they kept going.
But no one was sleepy. They sat or lay on the sofas in the room, watching the clock tick by.
I don't know how much time passed, but suddenly I heard a whistle outside.
Then a boat docked at their private dock, and everyone stood up without making a sound and looked out the window.
Outside the window, a small boat carrying about a dozen people was being escorted over.
They were carrying all sorts of packages, wearing tattered clothes, and some seemed to have been injured in the resistance. When they got closer, a soldier gently knocked on the door twice.
Lu Yuan gently opened the door and looked at the soldier with a hint of wariness on his face.
"Hey, I'm telling you, don't look at me like that. You'll get special treatment from now on. This is the last time I'm warning you!"
The soldier chewed gum with a smug look on his face.
Lu Yuan didn't speak, but quietly looked at the people the other person had brought behind him.
Then the soldier waved to the soldiers behind him.
Everyone then pushed these people into the room.
Lu Yuan avoided them and watched as they escorted the person into their living room. Only then did a few soldiers speak.
"These thirteen people will be your guests from now on. You can arrange things as you see fit, because the house here is too big and it would be a waste of space for just a few of you. These thirteen people will be your shared owners from now on, so get to know each other!"
The soldier said he waved his hand, then left these people there and took his men away.
Lu Yuan and Xiao Shan looked at the newly arrived "guests".
These people looked like they had just been released from prison; they were all filled with a violent aura.
Because the area of Shanghai is very large, Lu Yuan has hardly ever gone out. These people are obviously locals from Shanghai.
The man at the head of the group cleared his throat and looked around the villa. He noticed that some of the room doors on the second floor were not closed, so he pointed upwards.
"We want to live upstairs!"
After hearing his words, Lu Yuan gently shook his head.
"Excuse me, the upstairs is our own residence, but you can live downstairs! From now on, we can share the living room in the middle, as well as the bathroom and toilet!"
Lu Yuan had already discussed it with them before they arrived.
The downstairs area will be given to other residents, while they will live alone upstairs. If there are too many people, we can discuss it later, but thirteen people have come now, which should be good.
