Lu Yuan was still unaware of what underhanded tricks these people had used against him.
However, no one dared to provoke him in the past two days. Everyone knew his identity, so they all kept to themselves. There were a few honest people who got along quite well with Lu Yuan.
The very next day, Lu Yuan had just finished dinner when he heard the order to assemble. So he put down his chopsticks and followed his teammates to the central square.
The head of the security department, with a slight smile on his face, began to read a document aloud to everyone.
"Well, everyone, please pay attention. I've called you all here today mainly to discuss something. We have a shipment of goods to be delivered to the prison in the next couple of days, so we plan to send a small team to escort it."
Everyone knows that the road to Black Stone Beach is difficult to travel, and it's surrounded by people from other cities. So, every time we go, we have to take a huge detour to reach the prison. To deliver the goods there as soon as possible, we've decided to go through Black Stone Beach this time!
Upon hearing his words, whispers immediately broke out among the crowd below.
"My God, going to Black Stone Beach? Isn't that crazy? That place is notorious for losing goods; anyone who goes there is doomed."
"Yes, why not take the main road instead of that side road? Don't they know that place is now abandoned?"
"Sigh, I guess they're trying to mess with someone again. I wonder who this unlucky guy is."
"Have you heard? A new guy came the day before yesterday, Lin Hao is really something else."
"Hey, could they be planning to target Lin Hao? This captain is probably in for a rough time; he's the champion of the beast cage!"
"It's hard to say. You all know Black Stone Beach, right? Even if you have a championship, it won't help there. They use guns!"
Lu Yuan frowned as he looked at the head of the security department standing on the high platform. The man had a smile on his face and patted Lu Yuan on the shoulder.
"Alright! Stop talking! I just discussed it with the team leaders and we decided that five teams will go!"
After hearing this, everyone looked at each other with surprise. Before they knew what had happened, they saw the other person walk over with a document in their hand.
"Because our numbers have expanded quite a bit, we've slightly reduced the number of people in each team. I've decided to establish a new team captain for Team Five. I've already thought it through. Didn't we get a newcomer? And the other side has quite a background. Lin Hao, come out here!"
Lu Yuan was slightly taken aback. He had no idea what kind of trouble the other party was up to.
"Brother, we all know who you are. You're the champion of the Beast Cage, so you must be very skilled. That's why I'm going to hand over the captaincy of Team Five to you. I'm sure you can do a great job! As long as you complete the mission this time, you'll be one of us!"
Upon hearing the other party's words, Lu Yuan couldn't help but sneer, considering himself one of them.
That means Lu Yuan isn't one of their own yet, so they need a pledge of allegiance.
However, Lu Yuan simply nodded slightly, then picked up the document on the table.
"Alright, I'll take care of this. But you all agree that if you cause me any trouble after I've gone in and completed this task, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
After saying that, Lu Yuan took the things and turned to leave.
When the head of the security department saw that Lu Yuan was being so disrespectful, a murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
So he beckoned to one of his team members and whispered something in his ear.
Afterwards, a look of horror appeared on the other person's face, but it quickly turned into a fawning smile as they left.
That evening, the factory packed up all the very important parts and loaded them onto the truck.
After the car was properly wrapped inside and out with straps, Lu Yuan led the new team members to a secluded spot where they introduced themselves to each other.
These people were either honest and simple or unsociable; in short, they didn't fit in with the security department. Now that they were all separated, everyone knew what their fate would be. Seeing everyone's reaction, Lu Yuan could only sigh and couldn't do anything.
These items needed to be delivered to their destination before noon the next day, so they had to set off that evening. After checking everything, Lu Yuan closed the trunk and got into the car.
The driver was a middle-aged man in his thirties. One of his ears had been sliced off by a bullet, making him look very strange.
He didn't say much, and Lu Yuan didn't seem to intend to talk to him.
So the two of them sat quietly in the car. Lu Yuan was thinking about something, while the other person seemed to be thinking about nothing at all. His eyes were fixed on the road outside, and the car sped towards Black Stone Beach.
After driving for about ten kilometers, the road finally opened up considerably.
However, the roads here seem a bit more gloomy than the roads before.
Sandy soil has begun to appear all around, and the dark gray soil is not only similar to the yellow sand before, but it is also everywhere.
The one-eared man driving looked at the road in the distance and said, "Next, we'll reach Black Stone Beach. The road there is easy to travel, but it's very dangerous. We need to be careful!"
Lu Yuan nodded, and then followed the car as it drove forward.
A rifle was placed next to the passenger-side door on the right, fully loaded and ready to respond to any potential crisis.
There were five cars traveling together, carrying a total of fifteen people, with three people in each car.
Lu Yuan and his group were driving a pickup truck, so they were only carrying some small miscellaneous items. To prevent these parts from being shaken off on the way, they specifically asked someone to stay in the back of the truck.
If anything on the car starts to tip over and fall, the other person can simply pull it back.
And so the car continued to drive forward, finally entering the territory of Black Stone Beach.
Lu Yuan sensed something eerie about the surroundings; it was unnaturally quiet, and there wasn't a single person around.
There wasn't even a living thing; the whole world was a dark gray expanse.
