Chapter 1278 Moving

On his first day in office, Lu Yuan sensed the very serious atmosphere in the laboratory.

Almost everyone in the lab was working hard, especially their group leader, Pang Kuan, who always had a gloomy face when he saw him.

Lu Yuan didn't really care. He always felt that the other person was just like that by nature, because he felt that the other person treated everyone the same way.

However, after working for half a day, at lunchtime, the man who had been working with Lu Yuan on the experimental analysis report pulled Lu Yuan aside and whispered something.

"Xiao Lin, you'd better watch out for Pang Kuan from now on. You've offended him by coming here. You absolutely mustn't go hunting in the wild anymore, or he might make things difficult for you one day."

Lu Yuan was slightly taken aback after hearing this, and looked at the other person with some disbelief. "Hmm, what do you mean? I don't think I offended him."

"Hahaha, you said you didn't offend him, but you've offended him terribly. Your coming here is the biggest offense you've ever made to him."

Lu Yuan was a little confused. He looked up at the man and couldn't understand why his arrival had offended Pang Kuan.

"Well, you should explain yourself clearly. I don't quite understand. What do you mean by 'I offended him as soon as I arrived'? What does that have to do with me? I got in based on my own solid evidence."

The other person seemed worried that his words wouldn't be overheard, so he glanced at the smoking area next to him.

Lu Yuan understood what the other person meant, so he followed them and smoked there.

So the two of them picked up cigarettes and squatted in a corner where no one was watching, and then they started talking quietly.

After hearing the other party's words, Lu Yuan finally understood why the other party said that his arrival would offend Pang Kuan. It turned out that Pang Kuan had always wanted his younger brother to enter the laboratory.

He had held onto the spot for a long time, and it was almost within his grasp, but then Lu Yuan suddenly appeared and snatched his prize away. Who wouldn't be happy about that?

Lu Yuan finally understood why Pang Kuan had been looking at him with anger all year. He finally understood that the other man wasn't targeting everyone, but him, because the other man was in so much pain that his emotions had been like that.

However, Lu Yuan wasn't worried. After all, he had entered the competition based on his own strength, so why should he be afraid of him?

Besides, there are explicit rules here that prohibit using back channels or connections. Even if Pang Kuan really wanted to deal with him, he had ways to deal with him.

During the following period, Lu Yuan was assigned to the most tiring job in the entire laboratory. He had to work more than twelve hours a day, which was even more tiring than the work outside.

However, Lu Yuan was very happy with his job. He loved it and, having his own house, he could rest for more than 24 hours every night. This was much more comfortable than working outside. The people in the lab were incomparable to the people who farmed the land.

After finishing a busy day's work, Lu Yuan took some time to register and submit the contents of his real-world seed. These things needed to be submitted to his superiors, so he needed to complete and submit all the experimental reports within a month.

Moreover, he was directly managed by the top management of the laboratory, so Pang Kuan had no way to interfere in his affairs.

Three days later, Lu Yuan finally finished compiling all the reports and submitted them. After his superiors approved all the paperwork, they immediately put Lu Yuan's case on the agenda, and he received a reply from his superiors that very evening.

Before leaving get off work, the bystander had a slightly displeased look on his face and almost angrily threw a document onto Lu Yuan's desk.

"These are your documents. Don't try anything funny with me down here. Let me tell you, in this lab, I'm the one whose word carries the most weight, understand? I don't want to see anyone trying to be clever!"

Seeing the documents on the ground, Lu Yuan wasn't angry. It wasn't worth getting angry with this kind of person.

He was just jealous of himself. There was nothing he could do; he was just too strong. Lu Yuan simply wanted a place to live alone.

Anna jumped for joy upon hearing the good news. Holding the document stamped with a red seal, she was practically beaming with delight.

"Great! We can finally leave this tenement building! We can finally have our own place!"

Lu Yuan nodded: "Yes, we can finally have our own house. Now that we have our own house, shouldn't we hurry up and pack up and get ready to move?"

"Yes, yes, let's move now, let's move tonight! I don't want to stop for even a minute longer!"

So the two of them started packing their things.

Their current house was already small, and neither of them had much stuff. After packing, they each carried two bags and took everything with them.

When the neighbors heard that Lu Yuan and Anna were moving away, they all looked on with envy.

They still maintain the old tradition, and whenever someone leaves, they come over to offer their blessings.

Lu Yuan shook hands with everyone, and Anna gave a slight nod in return. They then took over the crowded corridor and went downstairs.

Lu Yuan glanced at the tenement building again, feeling a surge of relief. They could finally use their own house.

Upon arriving at the detached courtyard, we pushed open the door, revealing a small vegetable garden inside.

The vegetable garden isn't very large, about five meters long and wide. There are two gardens, one on the left and one on the right, where you can grow some vegetables and fruits. There's also a well next to it, with a cover on the opening for drawing water. You just need to go in and get water if you need it.

Looking at all this, Lu Yuan felt very comfortable.

So the two of them went back to their room and tidied up a bit.

This is a two-story building with three rooms upstairs and three rooms downstairs.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms and a living room, while upstairs there are three bedrooms and a small storage room. It's basically enough for two people, and even if there are several children, it's perfectly adequate.

The two found separate rooms to live in. Anna felt a little uncomfortable because from the moment she moved in, she was destined to live separately from Lu Yuan.

Seeing Anna's somewhat reluctant expression, Lu Yuan smiled gently and pinched her cheek: "Alright, from today onwards you will have to learn to sleep independently. Everything is packed. I'll go get some food in a bit. There are two rooms downstairs, let's choose one as the kitchen and the other as the dining room!"

After finalizing the house's layout, Lu Yuan and Anna prepared a simple dinner to celebrate before returning to their respective rooms.
