Although the soil was already fertile enough and the plants were growing very fast, so there was no need for fertilizer, Lu Yuan felt it would be a waste not to use it. It would be too much trouble to take it out every day.
After all, the pigs, cattle, and sheep produce tens of kilograms of manure every day. Lu Yuan can't possibly carry a basket of manure outside every day, can he?
Lu Yuan watched as a hen laid an egg and prepared to hatch a chick. He quickly took out his phone and started timing.
Previously, it would take about three days for a hen to lay an egg and for the chicks to hatch. Now, Lu Yuan thinks that this time should be even faster. If it were doubled, it would only take a day and a half.
After noting down the time, Lu Yuan returned to the fish soup pond. He found it teeming with fish. As soon as he put his hand in the water, many fish swarmed around him, thinking they had food to eat. However, they only touched his fingers.
Looking at the purple earth covering the ground and the clearer water in the pond, Lu Yuan felt a surge of satisfaction.
"Oh my god! If this weren't the apocalypse, I'd be rich if I had this thing! Ugh! This damn apocalypse!"
Upon entering the cabin, Lu Yuan noticed that the air inside seemed much fresher, like a refrigerator filled with negative ions. Nothing inside had changed; even the fish he had prepared a week ago was still incredibly tender, as if it had just been killed.
After emerging from the dimensional space, Lu Yuan returned to his bed contentedly. Looking at Wei Xiaoshan beside him, Lu Yuan felt completely at peace.
The next morning, Lu Yuan received another call from Yuan Yuan.
"Brother Lu! Great news!"
Lu Yuan was still half asleep when he heard the other person's voice. After a moment, he said, "What's up? It's so early in the morning!"
"Ahem! It's like this, I just received a call from my people over there. They said they've found a place in Shanxi Province and are currently contacting local sellers to prepare to buy the land!"
After hearing this, Lu Yuan immediately sat up and said, "Wow! So fast! By the way, have you found a seller? We have to get this land!"
"Yes! I'm raising money! But my people say the other party's demands are quite high; besides grain, they also need a large quantity of meat!"
Lu Yuan pondered for a moment and said, "Okay, I understand. I'll call Chen Ke and ask her later!"
So Lu Yuan hung up the phone, and sure enough, he saw the message from Chen Ke. However, the message was sent at two or three in the morning, and Lu Yuan was sound asleep at the time, so he didn't hear the message at all.
Then Lu Yuan called Chen Ke, and the call was answered quickly.
"Brother Lu! Did you see the message I sent you last night? We've arrived!"
"Yes! I just saw it. Yuan Yuan also told me everything. So, what are the seller's specific requirements?"
"Yes, they're making outrageous demands, asking for ten pigs right off the bat. We're currently negotiating with them!"
Lu Yuan was shocked when he heard this. In this day and age, everyone knows what ten pigs mean. They are more expensive than gold! Nowadays, many people can't even afford to eat grains and grass roots, let alone meat. The other party asked for ten pigs, obviously wanting to take advantage of them and fleece them.
"What a joke! Ten pigs? That's wishful thinking! Absolutely impossible! Let alone ten, we'd have to think twice even if it were five! Who are they anyway?!"
"We're investigating now, but they seem to be doing quite well in this area; everyone's afraid of them!"
"Them? How many of them are there?"
"There are probably a few hundred people!"
Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan immediately lost his temper. He had just been thinking that if there were only a few people, they could simply kill or drive them away. However, Chen Ke said that the other side had several hundred people, which clearly showed that they had the confidence to negotiate!
"By the way, who are they? Are they the owners of this place? Could they just be a group of refugees who have taken over this area?"
"The land title has been checked and there are no problems; it's all legitimate! However, getting this transfer agreement processed will be a bit difficult!"
Lu Yuan hummed in agreement. He knew that many government departments had already cut as many departments as possible to reduce costs and avoid adding to the burden on the government. With so many homeless people everywhere, the real estate department was no longer very useful. However, what Lu Yuan wanted was for the land to be legally owned, so that if a group of people came and claimed it as theirs, or even went to the relevant departments, he wouldn't be in trouble if he were kicked out.
"Alright, I got it. Try to press it down as much as you can. If it really doesn't work, I'll think of something else!"
"Okay, Brother Lu. By the way, I've already scouted this area. There's an open-pit coal mine not far from this valley, but it was closed a few years ago because of its low coal production. However, there's still a lot of coal in there! The locals all get their coal from here to burn at home!"
"An open-pit mine? That's great! That way we don't have to worry about going underground to work! Alright, thanks for your hard work! You guys continue your discussion! It would be best to lower the price as much as possible!"
"Don't worry, Brother Lu, I know what to do!"
So Chen Ke reported on her work over the past few days to Lu Yuan before hanging up the phone.
Lu Yuan sighed. The other party, numbering several hundred, was definitely a formidable force. If they truly didn't want to lower the price, they would have no choice but to suffer in silence.
