What you fear most is what happens most often, and Lu Yuan felt completely lost in the current situation.
"Damn it, I just found a place, and before I'd even lived there for a few months, they found out! What am I going to do now?!"
He hesitated for a moment, then turned to look at the teammate pinned to the ground. After a moment of contemplation, he asked again, "Are you planning to continue into the canyon?"
The other person nodded slightly: "Yes, we have to cross this canyon and reach the other side to see the main road. Right now, we don't have planes or armored vehicles, so we can only get through on foot!"
Upon hearing the other person's words, Lu Yuan once again panicked.
He hadn't expected things to happen so suddenly; everything was beyond his expectations.
"Old Zhou, go and contact the other team members and see where they are now!"
Zhou Tong nodded immediately, then picked up the walkie-talkie and asked a few questions. His eyes were filled with a serious expression: "I just asked, and their people have arrived now, less than five kilometers away from here!"
Upon hearing these words, Lu Yuan's heart sank.
He glanced again toward the back of the mountain, where people seemed to still be fishing. It appeared that the people on this side were their leaders.
Sure enough, the person who was observing suddenly ran back secretly. Wang Mingming looked at Lu Yuan with a tense expression: "Brother Lu, something bad has happened! The people over there just received news that they've found traces of us living there, and they're probably going to find us!"
Upon learning of this, Lu Yuan's heart sank: "Since these people are coming, then we must drive them away. We absolutely cannot let them discover our presence, and we must at least find them another way out!"
Thinking of this, Lu Yuan casually opened the map he always carried with him.
He spread it out on the ground and gently drew a few lines on it with a pencil.
One route goes through their campsite, while the other goes around their lake, but that route involves traversing mountains and valleys, and the road is very difficult to travel.
So, in general, only by passing through the large lake blocked by the snow swallows can they successfully reach the other side; it is an inevitable route.
There's no way to avoid it unless Lu Yuan can persuade them and lead them to other places.
After thinking about this for a moment, Lu Yuan immediately made a decision: "Old Zhou, you come with me in a bit. Wang Mingming, you go back to the camp right now and tell the others to keep watch near the camp. Don't go out unless there's something else going on!"
Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, Wang Mingming and Zhou Tong both glanced at him and said, "Brother, what are you trying to do? You're not going to have the two of us lure them over there, are you? I don't think that plan will work!"
Wang Mingming was also worried: "They came in aggressively. If we just go through like this, I'm afraid they might become suspicious. After all, if we leave a good road behind and take the other one, we might be discovered!"
Lu Yuan didn't have any particularly good ideas at the moment, and just shook his head slightly: "There's no other way. We don't have any other way to deal with these people right now. We can only rely on this method to lure them over. If it really doesn't work, I'll contact you at any time. Let's get over there as soon as possible!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Mingming could only sigh, then glanced at the person on the ground and asked, "What should we do with this person?"
Lu Yuan glanced around: "Knock him out and leave him here!"
Doing this is extremely dangerous, because this person almost certainly knows their whereabouts, so Lu Yuan knocked him unconscious here.
It was just a matter of buying some time. When the man saw Lu Yuan approaching, he immediately realized the danger.
He actually tried to back away, but Lu Yuan raised his hand and slapped him unconscious.
When he fainted, he didn't react at all. Lu Yuan glanced at the other person's breathing and found that he was still alive, so Lu Yuan breathed a sigh of relief.
After Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong quickly packed their things, they headed towards the camp.
A few people were squatting on the ground in front of the waterfall, processing the fish they had just caught, preparing to have lunch.
Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong exchanged a glance and then strolled towards that place.
Upon arriving here, Lu Yuan immediately sensed that the people had discovered them.
They each held a long spear and aimed it at Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong.
"Who goes there!"
Several people watched Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong warily.
Lu Yuan raised his hands high, feigning innocence.
"Don't attack! They're just refugees passing by, part of the same small group as you!"
After hearing this, a cold glint flashed in the other person's eyes: "Hmph, a two-person team can run this far? Are you kidding me! Do you really think we're fools!"
Lu Yuan shrugged helplessly: "Sorry, there were indeed two of us who came through here. We've already explored the path ahead; there are too many killer birds that can't get through there!"
Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, the other party turned slightly cold and then looked at Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong with a hint of suspicion.
However, they didn't notice anything unusual on Lu Yuan and Zhou Tong's faces, so they exchanged glances.
"Who exactly are you people? I suspect you're not part of the team. Where are you from? Are you from the south?"
