He squatted down and gently sniffed.
"What happened?"
Someone behind me asked softly.
The fourth brother shook his head slightly and glanced around.
"The taste is a little off."
Upon hearing his words, the people behind him all showed expressions of shock.
"No, can you please explain yourself clearly? What do you mean by 'the taste is wrong'? What exactly is wrong? Is there someone or some giant beast, like a crocodile?"
The fourth brother didn't shake his head, and continued to mutter, "This smell seems to come from the human body, but it's not quite right. There's a fishy smell to it."
The people behind them looked at each other, unsure whether to continue.
The fourth brother glanced around again, and only after confirming that there was no danger nearby did he continue leading his men forward.
After walking several dozen meters, Lao Si suddenly felt something was wrong; the strong fishy smell nearby seemed to be getting stronger.
He couldn't help but sniffle slightly, and the people behind him looked at each other, wondering what the other was up to.
"What exactly happened? Say something!"
Immediately, someone behind him expressed their dissatisfaction.
The fourth brother turned around and looked at everyone: "Can you smell anything fishy?"
Everyone shook their heads.
"What smell? Is there something wrong with your nose? This place smells like mud, not fish."
But the fourth brother insisted on his guess.
"No, it must be, it must be the smell of fish. I guessed right, there's definitely a fishy smell, even if it's very faint!"
The people around him were somewhat dissatisfied with his eccentric behavior, but they couldn't express their dissatisfaction.
"Alright, alright, stop being so paranoid. Let's go. Is it a crocodile or a person? Explain yourself! You've made us all nervous. We haven't seen a crocodile since we came here. Are you lying to us?"
Hearing the discontented and suspicious voices behind him, a murderous glint flashed in the fourth brother's eyes.
He glanced back at the person who had spoken, who immediately shut his mouth in fright and mumbled something.
"That's true, why can't people say it?"
The fourth brother glanced around and said, "Be careful in the meantime. There might be some gangsters around here, and I have a feeling it's people."
After saying that, Lao Si reached out towards the pistol, but just as he put his hand on it, several people suddenly appeared from the bushes beside him.
The other person was holding a gun, and the muzzle was pointing directly at him.
"Don't move! Behave yourselves!"
The leader was a young man who was about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.
The other man was very tall and burly, holding a pistol in his hand, with a shallow scar between his eyebrows.
"Excuse me. We're all in the same industry, and sometimes rivals are even more so. Put your hands up, I don't want anyone to get killed in the ensuing firefight."
Lu Yuan brandished his pistol in the direction of the other party.
The fourth brother and his group were extremely nervous; they hadn't expected this person to appear so suddenly.
A cold glint flashed in the fourth brother's eyes, but he quickly dismissed it.
Then he gave a helpless smile and glanced at the person behind him.
"They came from the North. You'd better deal with them yourselves. If you can't, then we'll just have to wait here."
Lu Yuan glanced at the middle-aged man in the crowd. He was not tall and wore tattered clothes, but he exuded a fierce aura, like an old hunter, giving him a very dangerous feeling.
Then a tall young man walked over from behind him.
He was about the same age as Lu Yuan, and his eyes held a hint of anger. Although he raised his hand high, a mocking smile appeared on his lips.
"Who are you? Why are you guarding us here? We have no grudge against you! Do you know who we are? We are from the Zhao family of the Northern Territory. Let me tell you, if you dare to touch us, you'll regret it."
Lu Yuan didn't care who the other party was. Once he arrived at this place, even if the other party was the King of Heaven, he would be the same person as him.
He ignored the other person and walked up to the middle-aged man.
"It seems you're quite familiar with this area. Who are you? How did you know I'm from the North?"
The other party gave a cold laugh and then fell silent.
Lu Yuan looked him up and down and immediately smelled a strong earthy smell.
Lu Yuan still remembered smelling this scent when he rescued the people in the underground city last time.
The people living inside generally have one or more peculiar smells on their bodies.
This is because they haven't been able to breathe fresh oxygen for a long time, which causes their bodies to have this strange smell.
"So you came from the underground city in the south. No wonder you smell like that."
The middle-aged man's face showed a look of shock. He did not expect that the other party could tell where he came from just by smelling him.
A hint of doubt appeared in his eyes as he glanced in Lu Yuan's direction.
"Who are you? Don't you know that apart from the Zhao family, no one else in the entire Northern Territory has access to this information? They've already taken this place; how did you manage to get here?"
