Chen Yan sat on the ground and turned on the built-in solar charger of her laptop.
After a while, the computer was turned on. Chen Yan searched for information about hyenas on the computer and then said, "According to previous records, hyenas have a very developed digestive system, so they probably won't last long!"
Lu Yuan and the others breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this.
"That's good! They won't be guarding us for long!"
However, Chen Yan's next sentence immediately wiped the smiles off everyone's faces: "However, hyenas sometimes arrange shifts for hunting! After all, they are social animals, which is normal. Some are dedicated to hunting, and others are dedicated to logistics!"

"That's right! Bison are probably the most numerous creatures on the grasslands!"

He didn't know how much time had passed when he heard a mournful howl. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a group of hyenas squatting not far away in the darkness, howling. Their eyes were glowing green.
And so, the whole night passed. Lu Yuan, without any particular thought, took out food and shared it with everyone.
The hyenas, licking their lips, stubbornly guarded them.
Seeing these hyenas, Lu Yuan shook his head helplessly: "Trying to wear us down? You've come to the wrong person! We can keep you at bay for years! Until you die! You'd better leave now!"
Then, everyone ate and drank as usual, while the pack of hyenas outside, which had previously been baring their teeth and howling at them,
Later, realizing that Lu Yuan and his group were completely ignoring them, the hyenas stopped wasting their energy and simply lay down in the distance in the thicket of thorns, waiting.
Three days have passed, and the hyena pack still shows no sign of leaving.
Lu Yuan was frustrated.
"Damn it! Are they really planning to wear us down? They're so resilient!"
Everyone shared Lu Yuan's thought: they had agreed to return to their hometown in ten days, and five days had already been wasted. There were still five days left, and if they couldn't get back, their hometown people would probably come.
Lu Yuan could imagine that if his grandparents and parents came, their chances of surviving if they encountered danger on the way would be very low.
Thinking of this, Lu Yuan became even more worried.
Another day has passed, and the sky is a bit overcast in the evening.
The temperature dropped a few degrees, and Lu Yuan simply couldn't fall asleep.
When Lu Yuan arrived in front of Zhou Tong and the others, he took out cigarettes from his pocket, lit them, and distributed them around.
"What's wrong? Can't sleep?"
Zhou Tong lit a cigarette and looked at Lu Yuan as he asked.
Lu Yuan nodded and sighed, "Yeah, how could I possibly sleep! All I can think about when I close my eyes are these damn hyenas."
Zhou Tong flicked his cigarette ash and looked up at the sky: "It looks like even the heavens aren't on our side! It's going to rain!"
Lu Yuan felt as if he were in two separate pieces.
"Damn it! If it rains, we might get washed away!"
"Yes! The worst part is that we don't have a boat, and we might get swept into the river! Then the piranhas in the river would be enough to eat us all!"
The more he talked about it, the more upset he became. Lu Yuan stood up, gave the hyenas in the distance the middle finger, and then went back helplessly.
"I'm going to sleep! Wake me up in the middle of the night!"
Zhou Tong reluctantly stubbed out his cigarette, rested his head on his bag, and continued his duty.
It wasn't even past midnight when Lu Yuan came again, because he hadn't slept all night.
Seeing Lu Yuan's haggard appearance, Zhou Tong could only express his sympathy, because he had no way to comfort Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan patted Zhou Tong on the shoulder: "Go to sleep, I'll take over for the rest of the night!"
Zhou Tong got up, stretched, and then prepared to go back.
At that moment, Lu Yuan suddenly felt something drip onto his face.
He was slightly taken aback: "Huh? It seems to be raining! Can you feel it?"
Zhou Tong was stunned: "It's raining? It looks like... hey, it really is raining! Holy crap! It looks like this rain is going to be heavy!"
Then, the people nearby all woke up. It was raining, and the raindrops were hitting them. No one was sleepy anymore.
Everyone got up and started packing their things to prevent them from getting wet in the rain.
