Chapter 1451 Mission Failure

So Lu Yuan and his group were trapped in the cave, suffering terribly and constantly complaining about their incompetent teammates in the military region.

At this moment, right there in the banana plantation, the military personnel were completely trapped.

Relying on their superior weaponry and ample ammunition, they held their ground for 10 hours.

The man in the middle looked as if he had aged several years overnight, with a few white hairs showing at his temples. He looked at the people around him with a solemn expression.

"How's the situation outside? Have the personnel retreated?"

The deputy shook his head slightly. "Still nothing. Commander, what should we do? Break through or continue waiting for rescue?"

The doctor, who was watching the show, glanced at the satellite phone in his hand.

"The higher-ups said that most of their troops have already been deployed and they can't send any more reinforcements. Now we have to rely on ourselves."

Upon hearing these words, the adjutant's face showed a look of despair.

"Tell the men below to continue holding their ground inside the armored vehicles. Their arrows are useless against them. As long as we hold this position, there shouldn't be any problems. Tell everyone not to panic. Check the riot shields and see how many you can take out. Make sure everyone takes a riot shield when they go out."

After hearing the commander's words, the adjutant nodded slightly, got out of the car, carefully held up a riot shield, and looked towards the woods in the distance.

In the distance, in the woods, a group of apes dressed in bark and grass were aiming at the caravan with huge bows and arrows.

In the instant he was stunned, a loud bowstring twang suddenly came from afar.

With a whoosh, a huge arrow flew towards him.

He quickly gripped the riot shields in both hands, preparing to dodge, but the arrow was too fast; he barely had time to react before being hit by it.

Fortunately, the riot shield was quite sturdy. Even if the wooden bow and arrow were extremely strong, it would be almost impossible to break the contradiction. However, such a huge force pushed him back nearly 10 meters.

This was the first time he had ever felt hit by such an arrow. It felt as if his arm was about to be broken by the force. He looked at the riot shield and saw a look of fear on the blue face.

Filled with fear, he immediately ran to the other squads, but when he crawled into an armored vehicle, he found that several people inside were already on the verge of death.

Without exception, each of them had a piece of wood stuck to their body.

"What's wrong with these guys?"

He regretted asking such a pointless question.

They were already lacking in medical supplies, and all they had brought along were some basic battlefield emergency kits. However, it was almost impossible to save someone with such injuries.

Seeing that his several barely alive comrades ignored him, he could only cough awkwardly and find the vehicle commander. He relayed the commander-in-chief's orders to Xiamen University, checked the riot shields in the food, and then slunk away.

The convoy was deathly still; everyone was terrified by the tall, ape-like figures.

They never expected that these seemingly harmless apes would be so powerful; their bows and arrows had a longer range and were more accurate than their guns.

Moreover, they made a mistake. This crisis needed to be reported to the commander-in-chief. However, when he told the commander-in-chief the time, the other party just gave a soft "hmm" and then didn't say anything more.

Another family is trapped in the cave, unable to escape, and the sounds they often hear are those of the apes constantly searching for those who haven't been captured while they are charging their batteries.

Lu Yuan and his family watched helplessly as those people dressed in bark and grass strips devoured the captured videotapes one by one, a scene of extreme gore that made their stomachs churn.

To ensure their safety, Lu Yuan had to postpone his plans, but being trapped in the cave indefinitely wasn't an option, so the team members decided to sneak away.

A huge map was spread out on the ground; it was a new map they had drawn.

There were several drones on the computer next to him, and the footage they had captured was displayed on the computer. Lu Yuan pointed to the images and maps on the computer.

"So far, our biggest threat is the people at the mouth of these valleys. It's almost impossible to get the dinosaur eggs now. We can only leave here, go back, and find a way to climb over the other side of the mountain."

Everyone nodded in agreement; they had almost no objections to Lu Yuan's idea.

"What I mean is that last time we sneaked over at night and went to the wrong place, so tonight after dark we'll start our operation immediately and try to get through here in one go."

Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, everyone's faces lit up with excitement.

"This time we should be absolutely certain of success, right? We can't afford any more surprises."

"Yes, these apes have been taken by the military. We have to be careful. This place seems to be good; it looks like no one has come to harvest the tea plants."

"Sigh, what a pity. If we had known, we would have rushed over directly instead of waiting for them. We were about to make friends with these apes when their appearance interrupted our plans."
