"We're finally saved!"
As everyone wiped the water off their bodies, they recalled the dangerous things that had just happened.
When everyone looked at their current surroundings, their previous joy vanished once again.
They were on opposite banks of a river valley, where there were almost no roads.
Below the valley flows a rushing river, its destination unknown.
This river looks very dangerous, with all sorts of protruding rocks in the middle.
If a person accidentally falls into the water and continues to drift downstream, they are very likely to hit these rocks, and survival is almost impossible.
Moreover, there are almost no places to climb on this riverbank.
They're stuck here now, unless Lu Yuan can find a rope and climb back up.
But the apes above looked menacing as they stared down at the people below, some even throwing stones down. Lu Yuan felt that there was really little hope.
"Damn it, what's going on? We saved these people and they repay kindness with enmity. They're not kind at all!"
"If only we had known, we shouldn't have saved them in the first place. Let them fight the military instead!"
"When are we going to leave here? This place is only the size of a palm, and there's not even a place for more than thirty people to lie down!"
Lu Yuan was also anxious. He looked around, but still couldn't come up with a good solution.
It's not impossible to climb over there, but there are apes everywhere above, making it extremely difficult to get across.

"If people can get over there, will these apes be able to catch us?"

Lu Yuan prepared the rope and hung it on the seat behind the nail gun. After adjusting the parameters, he aimed at the opposite rock wall and pulled the trigger.
A loud bang was heard. The nail gun, followed by the others, sped off in the opposite direction.
With another bang, the nail was firmly embedded in the opposite rock wall.
Lu Yuan reached out and tugged at it, feeling that it was fairly secure. He took a deep breath and then swung towards the other side.
As he swung across, Lu Yuan could clearly hear the gasps of surprise emanating from the apes above.
Once he was pressed against the opposite rock wall, he reached out and waved to the apes on the other side.
Those apes had clearly never seen anything like it before, and they were all shouting excitedly.
Using this method, Lu Yuan brought all his family members to the other side, and then climbed up the cliff little by little.
The apes on the other side of the river valley, which was fifty or sixty meters wide, were throwing things in their direction in a fit of rage, but none of them could hit them. This made Lu Yuan feel very satisfied.
But there was no way back; no one knew exactly how long the crack was on this side of the valley.
So Lu Yuan and the others continued walking forward on the road.
They have now arrived at a new location, and no one knows what dangers they will encounter here, or where this place leads.
It got dark quickly, and Lu Yuan and his group were still wandering around in the jungle, without finding any useful geographical clues.
After a long day, everyone felt their legs go weak, and one by one they found a rock to sit on.
Lu Yuan lit a campfire, and everyone cooked some food and ate dinner.
After a day of thrills and excitement, the children were exhausted. Qiqi fell asleep immediately in Lu Yuan's arms. Everyone gathered around the campfire, their faces filled with worry.
After finishing his cigarette, Zhou Tong threw the butt into the fire and glanced in Lu Yuan's direction.
"What should we do next? Should we go back or keep going? I feel like this jungle is huge! If we just go through like this, I reckon we'll definitely encounter more unknown risks, and the cost will be too high!"
Then, Mr. Lu sighed helplessly.
"I think if we want to go back, these ferocious apes would love to eat us alive. Going back now is definitely not a good idea. Why don't we find a safe place to hide for a while?"
The old man picked up his eyeglass rod, tapped it twice on a stone, stuffed some more tobacco into it, lit it gently over a fire, and took a puff.
