Upon entering the work area, Tan Ke felt extremely uneasy.
He looked around anxiously, afraid that Lu Yuan and his group would be discovered, but he didn't know where they were or how many of them there were. He knew nothing; he only knew to follow their instructions.
To avoid being discovered, Tan Ke surprisingly requested to work overtime today, claiming that he still had some things to finish and that he could only feel completely at ease after the laboratory was reopened.
No one else paid any attention, as Tan Ke had already had an epiphany.
Lu Yuan and his group were hiding in a storage room. A few people who were responsible for cleaning up the garbage had just arrived in the storage room. They entered the storage room but did not find Lu Yuan and his group because the storage room was too messy.
After the crowd left, Lu Yuan and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Lu Yuan listened quietly to the sounds outside, and only after making sure there was no noise did he carefully open the door and glance at the empty corridor.
So he waved his hand and the group left instantly.
Then they crept in in all directions.
They didn't have any exact blueprints for this place; Tank had only given them a rough map, along with a few possible locations to enter the hatchery.
That's right. Even a senior engineer like Tan Ke couldn't enter the incubator; everything was controlled remotely via computer.
Even when malfunctions occurred, they were all operated using remote-controlled robots. No one entered the internal construction site, because they were worried that an insider might break in and sabotage their incubator.
Lu Yuan could only say that this method was too insidious, cutting off all their attack routes, so they now had to find the hatchery as quickly as possible.
Time passed by, and after wandering back and forth along the long corridor several times, Lu Yuan finally arrived at an elevator.
Seeing the elevator going straight up and down, Lu Yuan, dressed in a laboratory uniform, went inside, glanced at the elevator briefly, and then pressed the button for the first floor.
After getting off the elevator on the first floor, there were still a few buttons that prevented him from going down. Lu Yuan felt that the hatchery must be underground.
Otherwise, if it were on the ground, the target would be so conspicuous that it would definitely be discovered, and Sean is so cautious that he certainly wouldn't leave the item outside.
After all, his robot was so powerful that Sean wouldn't have placed it on the ground so easily if he hadn't checked.
Time passed second by second, and Lu Yuan was still searching.
After searching the entire first floor of the building without finding a way down, a sense of helplessness crept into his heart.
He glanced at the time; he had been there for almost an hour.
So he pressed the intercom and asked softly.
"Everyone, has anyone found a way to the basement? Has anyone found it?"
A moment later, other people's voices came through the microphone.
"Report: Team One found nothing. This place is all bedrooms and rest rooms; there was nothing to be found."
"Report to Team Two: We haven't found it either, even though it should be on the ground. We're still searching!"
"Report to Team Three: We still haven't found anything, but we've caught a repairman and are interrogating him!"
Then each group reported on their current work progress, and Lu Yuan could only shake his head helplessly after listening.
Because their work progress has yielded almost no results.
Lu Yuan was puzzled. Could it be that the other party had hidden these places where the incubators were hidden in other places? Lu Yuan had not found anything under this island, as if it were a solid ground.
After searching for a long time, Lu Yuan was really ready to give up.
Another hour has passed, and there is less than an hour and a half left until midnight.
Lu Yuan knew that they would face an even more thorough search at night.
Because after midnight, all the patrol teams would conduct a thorough search of the area.
If they cannot find the entrance before midnight, they may be forced to leave.
It's likely that the clues they left behind will be discovered by these patrol teams.
Once the alarm is triggered, it will be difficult for them to get in.
Moreover, Tan Ke and his group are in even greater danger, because their previous unexplained disappearance had already attracted the attention of their superiors. If problems arise again this time, they will definitely be the first to be suspected.
Lu Yuan looked down at his watch, the time ticking by, and he was genuinely worried about what might happen next.
Just as Lu Yuan was preparing to find a new location, he saw twinkling stars on the distant sea. When he saw the stars, a look of surprise appeared on Lu Yuan's face, because there were no islands in that area.
"Something's not right. Could I have made a mistake?"
Lu Yuan rubbed his eyes slightly and was just about to leave when the lights on the distant sea flickered a few more times.
This completely proved to Lu Yuan that there was indeed a light in the distance, and it wasn't the twinkling starlight in the sky, but artificial light. Especially the position of the reflection made Lu Yuan think that it was light emanating from the seabed.
Lu Yuan then looked around to make sure no one was nearby before quickly running towards another, relatively safe patch of bushes.
