Chapter 169 Recruiting

As the ten people who had passed the first round of interviews filed in, Lu Yuan glanced at their resumes, which already had some simple slogans on them.

"Please introduce yourself and tell me about your previous work experience. You can go first!"

Lu Yuan looked at everyone, sat down in his chair, pointed to the man on the far right, and asked.

The man's cheekbones were particularly prominent, likely due to prolonged hunger and malnutrition. His lips were chapped, and his voice trembled slightly when he spoke.

"I... my name is Liu Chen, I come from Qingshui City, and I'm a plumber. I've been in this industry for over thirty years. By the way, I have an exceptional understanding of all kinds of pipe types! I can basically tell what material it is and how to use it just by looking at it!"

The man then talked about his personal work experience and some past achievements. Although there were some inaccuracies in what he said, Lu Yuan could tell that the man seemed decent on the surface, so he nodded and circled the man's answer.

"Okay, you can sit down first, next one!" Lu Yuan looked up at the man and then said softly to the next man.

Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, the first man breathed a sigh of relief. He clenched his fists, wanting to shout with joy, but he managed to suppress his thoughts and happily walked to a seat to the side.

The second man also began to recount his work experience in great detail. He had previously worked as a researcher in the field of alcoholic beverages and knew a great deal about the recipes. After staring at him for a while, Lu Yuan nodded silently. From his words, Lu Yuan could tell that this man was indeed quite skilled and had a good understanding of the ingredients and brewing process of alcoholic beverages. This basically ruled out the possibility that the man was lying.

"Okay, next!" Lu Yuan circled the other person's file and then continued to speak to the third person.

The interviews continued quickly, and five out of ten people remained. The other five were not considered unqualified, but Lu Yuan, after hearing about their majors, indicated that he didn't seem to need them and could only apologize and ask them to leave.

The interview process was particularly long. Although Lu Yuan was only in charge of the second round of interviews, many people still passed the first round. When it was over, Lu Yuan realized that the interviews had taken him a whole day.

The seats next to him were already full, and another room was also packed with people. Wei Xiaoshan was busy working on the side, and although she looked a little tired, her expression was unusually joyful.

"This time, we retained more than 300 people, and the technical personnel we need to recruit have a particularly high coverage rate, basically covering every industry, except for some that we don't need."

Lu Yuan nodded, a smile appearing on his face: "With these three hundred-plus people as a start, it will be easier to find more labor. By the way, those who were rejected in the first batch should still be here, right? Let them come over!"

Wei Xiaoshan grunted and left the room. Then she walked to another house and shouted loudly to the people in the nearby houses, "Alright, stop sitting there and come in!"

When everyone heard Wei Xiaoshan say this, a hint of joy appeared on their faces. They didn't know why they were being asked to stay here after failing the interview, but hearing that they could go in, they immediately felt that there was still hope.

The room was packed with people again. Lu Yuan stood on a high platform, glanced at everyone, and said softly, "I'm here to show you that although you've been eliminated, as long as you're willing to work hard, I might reuse some of you in the future, if you perform well enough!"

Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, a hint of joy appeared on everyone's faces. They no longer required themselves to return to their previous professions; as long as they could have food to eat, that would be enough. Lu Yuan's words implied that they could stay and simply work hard to fill their stomachs.

After seeing hope, everyone's spirits immediately lifted. In this era, if a person wants to survive, they need someone to give them hope, and Lu Yuan was that person who gave them hope.

Lu Yuanxin pressed down on the whispering crowd below: "There is no free lunch in the world. From now on, let's work together and create a new home with our own hands. No matter how great the disaster, as long as we are alive, we can create a world for ourselves with our own hands!"

This time, everyone's eyes lit up. They knew about this; Lu Yuan had even hinted that they would have a new base in the future, and they would be one of them.

Then the audience below the stage suddenly became noisy, and someone quickly raised their hand and said, "Although I don't have the superb skills of the people in the past, I know how to build houses and carry bricks on construction sites!"

"I can take measurements. Although I'm just a lowly surveyor, as long as I can get a bite to eat, I'd go through fire and water for it!"

"I raise chickens. Not to mention chickens, I'd raise pigs, sheep, or ducks as long as they're fed!"

Everyone offered their help, hoping to lend a hand at this critical moment.
