Chapter 207 Let Me Tell You a Place

Just as Lu Yuan was about to turn and leave, a desperate plea came from behind him.

"Big brother, please save my brother! I'll do anything you ask if you'll save him!"

Lu Yuan turned around and saw the girl, who was already covered in dirt, now crying her eyes out. Two tear tracks ran down her cheeks, leaving two white marks.

Lu Yuan opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn't utter a word. So he could only sigh and throw the fruit on the stone at the other person.

"Feed the fruit to your brother; it might save his life! I have things to do, so I won't stay here any longer!"

After saying that, Lu Yuan turned around and left, then climbed back up from where he had come from.

The girl stood there blankly, recalling what Lu Yuan had just said. Sure enough, she found a golden fruit next to the pot. She was somewhat disappointed after he excitedly ran up to it and saw the fruit.

"It's just an ordinary fruit, can it save my brother?"

The girl held the fruit tightly in her hand. Her younger brother had caught a cold and had a persistent high fever. She thought that he could just eat something and get through it, but she found that the fever was getting higher and higher. At first, her brother was still able to get out of bed and was only a little dizzy, but then he fell into a coma and is now unconscious.

With a "nothing to lose" attitude, the little girl gritted her teeth, hugged the fruit, turned around, ran towards the tail of the plane wreckage, and lifted the curtain.

Lu Yuan had already come out. He followed the path he came from and kept walking into the distance, but the surrounding buildings were too chaotic, and he couldn't tell which way was which. At this moment, a bad thought flashed through his mind.

"Damn it, I completely forgot to hide the car!"

Thinking of this, Lu Yuan quickly ran back, following the route he remembered. However, the surrounding environment became very complicated. After running for a long time, Lu Yuan realized that he seemed to be lost.

"This is ridiculous! How can you get lost here?!"

Lu Yuan gritted his teeth in resentment, then looked around. Because it was too dark and there were ruins everywhere, all of them looked pretty much the same. Lu Yuan couldn't remember where he had come from, so he could only go back along the way he had come.

However, Lu Yuan seemed to have overestimated his ability to judge direction. He walked further and further away until he finally stopped in a pile of ruins.

"I should have known better than to act all high and mighty and let that girl take me away. Now I'm doomed! Where am I?!"

Looking around and at the path he had come from, he had no recollection of it at all; he was completely lost.

Without a car, he couldn't even find his way back. Standing there, Lu Yuan was filled with regret, but there was nothing he could do.

Just as he was at a loss and didn't know where to go next, a voice suddenly came from behind him asking a question.

"Brother, are you lost?"

When Lu Yuan suddenly heard this voice, he felt as if it were heavenly music. He regretted showing off and leaving that place. Now he was lost, but someone else found him and brought him back. It was indeed a bit embarrassing. He didn't think he was bad at directions, but he unexpectedly got lost here. This was hard for Lu Yuan to accept.

An awkward turn around revealed the girl standing behind him with a face full of gratitude.

"Thank you for the fruit. My brother has woken up, ate something, and is asleep again. I was worried you wouldn't be able to find your way back, so..."

"Ahem. I was just wandering around and had nothing to do. Since you're here, why don't you take me to find my motorcycle? I was planning to look around the neighborhood!"

After hearing Lu Yuan's words, his daughter covered her mouth and smiled.

"Many people who have never been here before get lost, which is normal. You don't need to hide it. The magnetic field here is very chaotic, and you may feel dizzy from things around you. This is largely due to the geographical location. Once you get used to it, it won't bother you!"

The girl led the way, and Lu Yuan followed behind her in silence. Suddenly, he felt the atmosphere was a bit awkward, so he coughed softly and asked, "Are you the only one living here with your brother?"

The girl suddenly stopped, turned to look at Lu Yuan, and nodded: "Yes, no one wants to live here. After all, they have better places. Some have even gone to Lu Yuan's base. I heard that if you want to get in there, you have to spend a lot of money!"

Lu Yuan frowned immediately when he heard that it would cost a lot of money to enter his base.

There are only a few conditions for accepting outsiders into his base: either they are quick and capable, or they have certain skills and can contribute to the base, or at the very least, they know nothing and come here to work as miners digging coal. As for having to pay money to enter, Lu Yuan has never set such a rule.

So Lu Yuan concealed his anger and casually asked, "Do I have to pay? I heard that you can get in for free!"

The girl sighed and said, "I heard that once you get in, you have to pay a processing fee to someone, otherwise the interviewer won't notify you!"

"Really? Then this interviewer seems to have quite a few connections with outsiders!"

"Well, actually every base is the same. If there weren't these conditions, how would they survive in their bases? They all have to pay a kind of intermediary fee to get in. Otherwise, if just anyone could get in, wouldn't it become very difficult for them to survive in their bases?"

Lu Yuan nodded silently without saying anything, then asked, "By the way, what's your name?"

The girl turned around and looked at him. Lu Yuan said, "My surname is Sun, and my name is Yanzi. You can also call me Yanzi. I'm seventeen years old. My younger brother's name is Sun Yang! What about you?"

"My name is Lu Qian."

The girl let out a cry, then silently repeated Lu Yuan's name in her mind before leading him forward.

After walking for about a few minutes, the girl returned to the place where the two had just met.

"We've arrived. Your car is right there. I was worried someone might steal it, so I covered it with some scraps of cloth. I hope it got dirty?"

Lu Yuan shook his head, thanked the girl profusely, and then lifted the tattered cloth from the car.

After getting on the motorcycle, he nodded to the other person.

Just as Lu Yuan was about to leave, his daughter suddenly made a simple decision. She took two steps forward, called out to Lu Yuan, and said, "You want to find a plane? I know a place, but it seems quite dangerous there!"

Lu Yuan quickly stopped his motorcycle, turned around and looked at the other person, and asked urgently, "Tell me where it is, I really need it urgently!"

"It's a guy named Sun Laosan. It seems he got a lot of weapons from the military, including armored vehicles, tanks, artillery, and even airplanes!"
