When Lu Yuan heard this, his brows furrowed, and he wanted to complain, but thinking that he would have to serve in this garrison in the future, he could only grit his teeth and say to the woman at the counter, "Forget it, just give me this one, the others are too expensive!"
The woman frowned slightly as she followed Lu Yuan's finger to the walkie-talkie. That walkie-talkie was the cheapest of all, and even though she had already made a markup, she still wasn't making enough profit.

Zhou Qi couldn't help but tighten his coat, then pulled Lu Yuan to a general merchandise store.

Carrying his belongings, Zhou Qi arrived at the garrison's dormitory building. He coughed lightly, knocked on the door, and called out with a smile, "Captain Qian! New brother reporting for duty! His name is Lu Yuan!"
Inside, people were playing cards while warming themselves by the fire. Several people sat around the stove, looking quite content.
After hearing Zhou Qi's words, one of the bald men among them turned around and said, "Alright, bring him in!"
Zhou Qi responded and then pulled Lu Yuan into the room.
Upon entering the room, Lu Yuan glanced around at the surroundings. The room wasn't very large, less than 20 square meters, but it contained four beds. In the middle was a stove with a roaring fire burning inside, and a kettle of boiling water was placed on top. Next to the stove was a small table where Captain Qian and several members of the garrison were playing cards with great enthusiasm, one in one hand and a cigarette in the other. The other beds were quite tidy, but the room smelled strongly of smoke.
Seeing that the group was still playing cards, Zhou Qi immediately felt a little embarrassed. He then walked up to Captain Qian and said, "Lu Yuan, let me introduce you. This is Captain Qian Liang, the captain of the third team of our garrison!"
After Lu Yuan called him "Captain," Zhou Qi pointed to Lu Yuan beside him and said to Qian Liang, "This is Lu Yuan, he's from Shanxi Province!"
Qian Liang held the cards in one hand and glanced back at Lu Yuan with the other, giving a token nod.
"Let him sleep in the spot by the door!"
Zhou Qi quickly followed Lu Yuan to get busy. Just as the two were making the bed, Qian Liang suddenly turned around and saw the various bedding that Lu Yuan had laid out on the bed. He frowned and then quickly asked.
"Zhou Qi, wait a minute!"
Zhou Qi, who was making the bed with Lu Yuan, heard Qian Liang tell him to quickly look up.
"Zhou Qi, didn't you tell him where we buy things here?"
Upon hearing Qian Liang's question, Zhou Qi felt somewhat embarrassed. He wanted to say that he had already told him, but Lu Yuan wouldn't listen. If he said that, it would seem like he wasn't being considerate, since Lu Yuan had given him a cigarette when he arrived.
But if he doesn't say anything, it's obvious that he hasn't done his job properly, and he'll have to take the blame.
Just as he was unsure how to express himself, Lu Yuan spoke up first: "Zhou Qi told me that he originally wanted me to buy it at the shop opposite the garrison building, but when I saw that the prices there were a bit expensive, I wanted to save some money so I went to buy it next door!"
