After hanging up the phone, Lu Yuan sat in front of it and waited.
Sure enough, the phone rang again shortly afterward.
Lu Yuan answered the phone and heard Hei Zi's voice on the other end.
"Hey bro, I'll take some guys over there right now, you wait for me there!"
Lu Yuan was a little confused after hearing this: "What's going on? You brought people with you?"
"What? You still look down on us? Minister Chen really can't spare any more teams right now, and my team members are no cowards. Don't worry, the two of us working together will be a match made in heaven!"
"Damn it, can you use more precise language? What do you mean by 'a match made in heaven'? Alright, enough nonsense. As long as someone comes, that's good enough. Get your people over here quickly. I'll talk to the logistics team and see if we can get some more equipment!"
…
Twenty minutes later.
A small truck parked directly downstairs in front of the inner city garrison's office building.
The car door opened, and Hei Zi jumped out of the passenger seat, followed by about twenty other people jumping out of the back of the car.
This time, Hei Zi wasn't casually wearing his flashy leather coat anymore; instead, he was dressed in a gray-black combat uniform. He wore gleaming leather boots and carried a huge shotgun on his back.
"Wow, you're well-equipped! You got here so fast!" Lu Yuan greeted Hei Zi with a big smile.
"Of course! How could I not have good equipment? I only volunteered to play because I heard you were leading the team. I wouldn't even give a damn about the others! These are my brothers. Don't worry, they won't fall behind, and they're even better than your team!"
However, the other party lowered his voice considerably after saying the last sentence, so the other team members did not hear it. Lu Yuan turned around and looked at the team members behind Hei Zi. They were all energetic and fierce-looking, and they seemed to be very good at fighting.
"Thank you very much!"
Hei Zi chuckled and punched Lu Yuan on the shoulder: "Why are you being so polite with me? Don't you consider me a brother? Alright, we're here to help, not to hear your thanks. Just tell us what you need, everyone here is at your beck and call!"
Lu Yuan nodded, then looked at the team members behind him and shouted, "Everyone get in the car, we'll talk on the way!"
So the group immediately rushed into the vehicles. Because there were so many people, they split into three vans, with ten people in each van.
A few minutes later, three civilian vans drove towards the restricted area.
…
Outside the restricted area.
Several garrison soldiers were smoking cigarettes and casually tossing cards in their hands. There wasn't a single person on guard duty. They were either dozing off, playing cards, or reading novels on their phones. It seemed that no one took the matter of being on guard duty seriously at all.
The man with a scar on his face squinted and tossed out his cards: "Want a straight?"
The remaining two team members glanced at their cards and shook their heads.
"Hehe, I'm going to play all my cards this time!" The captain said, about to throw down his cards, when a voice suddenly came from behind him.
"Team Leader Qi, something bad has happened! Team Leader Qi, three cars are heading this way!"
The captain raised his hand high, glanced back, and saw his teammates running and shouting towards him, panting heavily.
"What? Three cars are heading our way? Who are they? Can you confirm their identities?"
"It's hard to say. I was looking at a civilian vehicle, but when I was peeing just now, I saw that the tires of that vehicle were flat, so there must have been quite a few people on it!"
The captain immediately frowned, then waved his hand and said, "Alright, those who need to be vigilant, be on guard. We don't want the patrol officers to come!"
The group reluctantly put down their cards, stood up, gathered their equipment, and headed back to their posts.
After everyone returned to their posts, the captain took out his binoculars and looked into the distance. He saw three cars lined up in a long queue, heading in his direction.
"Who the hell are these people? Don't they know this is a restricted area? Didn't the guard post ahead warn them?" Captain Qi muttered to himself, looking at the three vehicles in the distance through his binoculars with some suspicion.
After observing for a while, one of his team members suddenly shouted, "Captain, it looks like the inner city garrison! Look at the passenger seat of the third car!"
Captain Qi immediately became alert, took out his binoculars and looked back, and saw that Lu Yuan was sitting in the passenger seat of the third car.
"Damn it, why are the inner city garrison troops getting involved in our affairs? Don't they know that our border garrison troops are not from the same system as them? What are they doing here?"
After a moment of contemplation, one of the team members whispered, "Captain Qi, do you think they might be heading for those gold mining teams?"
"What? You mean they're after the gold prospectors? That's impossible! The gold prospectors are incredibly powerful and influential; the inner city guards can't afford to mess with them. This group probably isn't the original gold prospectors!"
So everyone started thinking about it again. After a while, Captain Qi became a little worried, so he finally picked up the phone and dialed a number.
"Someone's coming! Be careful, they're from the inner city garrison!"
