As he spoke, Lu Yuan picked up the wine bottle and started refilling people's glasses.
At 9:30 p.m., the group of people finally finished their meal and drinks, and they were all burping so much that they could barely walk straight as they headed downstairs.
"Alright, Captain Lu, go back and get some rest! We all live nearby, it'll be fine!"
"Yes, it's freezing cold. Don't bother seeing us off. We can find our way back!"
Several team members waved to Lu Yuan, signaling him to go back.
"Alright! Be careful on the road, I won't see you off!"
After waving goodbye to the group, Lu Yuan turned and returned to his residence. Hei Zi was already completely drunk and had unconsciously stripped off his clothes and crawled into bed, while Zhou Qi was still vomiting in the bathroom.
Lu Yuan lit a cigarette and shook his head as he looked at the mess in the room.
After vomiting, Zhou Qi leaned against the wall, panting heavily, and said, "Lu Yuan, well, I'm going back first too! My wife and kids are waiting for me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhou Qi staggered and almost fell. Lu Yuan stepped forward and grabbed his shoulder, saying, "Come on! You've drunk so much, what's the point of going back? I'll just call your wife later!"
However, Zhou Qi shook her head and insisted on leaving: "Lu Yuan, thank you, but really, it's not necessary. I haven't seen the children for several days, and I have to go back and check on them, otherwise they'll be worried sick!"
Lu Yuan immediately understood that Zhou Qi was different from him; he had a wife and children to take care of and needed to go back.
So Lu Yuan pulled his coat from the bed: "Alright, I don't feel comfortable letting you walk back like this. I'll take you back! I can also bring some food for Xiaoyun!"
Upon hearing this, Zhou Qi immediately waved his hands gratefully, saying, "Alright, Lu Yuan, we've eaten quite a lot this time. Even if you're very wealthy, you should save some money! I'm going back!"
After saying that, he was about to go downstairs, but Lu Yuan still helped him down.
However, once they got downstairs, the two saw a woman with a black headscarf wrapped around her head pacing back and forth not far from the streetlight, carrying a package in her hand. She was covered in a thick layer of dust.
"Huh? Chunling? What brings you here?" Zhou Qi sobered up considerably upon seeing the woman.
Lu Yuan looked at the woman in surprise as she walked quickly toward him: "Sister-in-law, when did you arrive? Why didn't you tell me beforehand!"
The woman smiled shyly at Lu Yuan and said, "I just got here a little while ago. I was worried I'd disturb your meal, so I waited here! Oh dear! Old Zhou, why did you drink so much? Really, hurry back! The kids are getting impatient waiting for you!"
The woman complained to Zhou Qi while helping Lu Yuan to support him.
"Sister-in-law, why don't you wait for me a bit? I'll drive you back! The inner city is quite far from the outer city!"
"No, no, Brother Lu Yuan, don't trouble yourself. It's just a short distance, no need to drive. Besides, you've been busy all night, you should get some rest! I'll take Lao Zhou back!"
Seeing that the other party insisted on taking Zhou Qi back himself, Lu Yuan couldn't insist any further and could only nod.
"Alright then, drive carefully. Zhou Qi drank quite a bit, so drink plenty of hot water when you get back!"
"Alright, Lu Yuan, you can go back now! I'll bring the kids to see you another day. Your injury has just healed, so don't cause any more problems! We're leaving now!" Zhou Qi waved and called out to Lu Yuan.
Watching Zhou Qi and his wife slowly disappear into the darkness under the night sky, Lu Yuan sighed and helplessly returned to his residence.
Seeing Hei Zi sprawled out on the bed in a starfish shape, Lu Yuan was speechless. His bed had been taken over, and Hei Zi had stripped him naked. He wouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep.
After tidying up the room, he moved a deck chair over and lay down by the fireplace, his mind already starting to contemplate revenge.

With Zhu Chunling's support, Zhou Qi slowly walked towards the poor area of the outer city. However, his legs were somewhat unresponsive due to the effects of alcohol, and he would slip after taking a few steps. Zhu Chunling could only hold him firmly to prevent him from falling. Before long, Zhu Chunling's forehead was covered in sweat.
Fortunately, there were streetlights, otherwise the two of them would have walked even slower.
But after walking for a while, Zhu Chunling finally couldn't support Zhou Qi anymore and hurriedly called out, "Old Zhou, stop! I can't support you anymore! Take a break!"
So Zhou Qi had no choice but to stop and sit down with his wife on the curb to rest.
The cold wind blowing on the road, coupled with walking for quite a long time, had mostly worn off Zhou Qi's effects of the alcohol, and he was now somewhat sober, although he still felt weak in his legs.
"By the way, honey, how did you know I was out today?" Zhou Qi turned to Zhu Chunling and asked.
"Sigh, I had to ask around. One of the team members said you were only detained for seven days. I figured it was about time, so I went to the prison to look for you. I didn't expect you had already been taken away. Later, I found out that you went to Future City with Lu Yuan. I thought you might be at Lu Yuan's house. You fed your baby at home and then came over."
Zhou Qi was immediately moved upon hearing this and reached out to hug Zhu Chunling: "Wife, thank you for your hard work!"
Holding her man in his arms, Zhu Chunling felt both sweet and a little shy. She struggled slightly and muttered, "What are you doing! Someone will see us!"
"What's there to be afraid of? I'm hugging my own wife! I'm not only going to hug her, I'm going to kiss her too!" Zhou Qi said, pouting as she leaned in.
Zhu Chunling, blushing, pushed Zhou Qi's face aside and scolded, "You reek of alcohol! Don't touch me! It stinks! Brush your teeth properly when we get back! Otherwise, your son will be bothered by the smell!"
