Chapter 352 The Perils of the Mining Area

After saying that, Xiwen ignored Lu Yuan's objections, took the barrier, held it up in his hand, made an OK sign to the people behind him, and rushed to the top of the mountain.

Before he could even regain his balance, he felt the wind in the distance like the hand of a giant, pushing him backward with all his might. He tried his best to maintain his balance, but he couldn't do it at all; the wind on the mountain had already reached level fifteen or sixteen.

He tried his best to stand firm, but found that he couldn't do it at all. His legs were trembling. Fortunately, the soles of his shoes were firmly stuck in the rocks, which prevented him from being blown off the mountain. Suddenly, he felt a large hand blocking him from behind. He saw Lu Yuan standing behind him with a slight smile.

"Your strength isn't enough, let's both of us do it together."

As he spoke, Lu Yuan pushed the other person's shoulder forward, and the two of them pushed the barrier forward as if they were fighting a hurricane monster.

"Clang, clang, clang!" The ice and snow blown by the north wind slammed hard against the barrier, and soon several dents appeared.

The two finally crossed the mountain, which was now covered in ice and snow and had a very rugged terrain. If they were not careful, they could fall to the bottom of the mountain.

Lu Yuan gripped the other person's shoulder tightly and shouted to the group on the other side of the mountain, "Quick, now's the time! Get over the mountain!"

One by one, everyone climbed over the mountain. Lu Yuan's shield alone was not enough, but the wind was weaker as they went down the mountain. However, the wind was really strong at the top of the mountain.

So once they left the windy spot, everyone felt much less pressure. Occasionally, ice cubes or similar objects would fall from above. Since everyone's protective measures were quite comprehensive, the ice cubes hitting them, while painful, were still within an acceptable range.

Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, a vast mining area finally came into view. The tents that had been there were now scattered and broken, and garbage was flying everywhere in the valley. Some of the garbage was hanging on the slope on the other side of the valley, and plastic bags were torn up and hung in the crevices of rocks on some cliffs.

The entire valley looked as if it had been the site of a major battle, leaving behind a trail of devastation. There wasn't a single person in sight, and the mining tools that had been left behind were simply left lying there.

"Huh? Where did everyone go? Where did they all escape to?" Lu Yuan was taken aback.

He cursed inwardly, realizing that if all these people left, their trip would have been for nothing.

So everyone quickly descended into the valley. The wind was much calmer here, as it was largely blocked by the wind from the opposite mountain. So the wind in the valley was much calmer, but it could still reach around level seven or eight. However, it was much better than before.

Once inside the valley, the group unlocked the chains and searched for traces of people. However, after reaching several pits, Lu Yuan discovered that the place seemed to have been abandoned for a long time.

They had never been to this place before; they had only passed through it. Now that they were here, they discovered that the situation was completely different from what they had imagined.

Suddenly, shouts from Xiwen and his group came from afar.

"Come over here quickly, there seems to be a tunnel over here."

Lu Yuan quickly put down what he was doing and pulled Xiao Shan along as they ran forward.

Upon closer inspection, they saw Xiwen and his group gathered around a tunnel entrance that had been buried under piles of rubble. However, a warm glow could still be felt inside, indicating that someone had started a fire, and smoke occasionally rose from it.

"The mine entrance has been buried; we need to dig it open to get inside."

"Then stop talking nonsense and start digging. Let's figure things out as soon as possible."

So everyone got to work, and the stones were moved one by one.

Because of the large amount of golden fruit they had eaten, everyone was much stronger than before, especially Lu Yuan, who was able to move stones weighing hundreds of kilograms with ease. Soon, the rubble at the tunnel entrance was mostly cleared, and a path appeared in front of them, although there was still a lot of rubble below the tunnel entrance.

There was only a narrow passage for about one person inside, so Lu Yuan quickly turned on his headlamp and looked down. The tunnel was winding and twisting, and he couldn't see where it ended.

Standing at the entrance of the cave, the wind howled, sounding like a giant whistle, and one could almost hear the sounds of people inside.

"Damn it, who broke open the hole we just sealed? Send someone to check it out right away."

A sound immediately came from below, followed by heavy footsteps heading towards the cave entrance. Lu Yuan and the others glanced at it and became somewhat nervous. If these people were doing something evil like cannibals inside, they had to be careful. So Lu Yuan quickly turned around and patted Xiao Shan on the shoulder.

"Follow me carefully; we don't know what's going on inside."

Xiao Shan looked at Lu Yuan with a nervous expression: "You have to be careful."

Lu Yuan nodded slightly and gave the other person a reassuring look.

Then Lu Yuan turned his headlamp to maximum brightness, held a shovel in his hand, and slowly walked into the cave.

The road twisted and turned, and the sound of everyone's footsteps echoed throughout the tunnel.

About ten minutes after they started walking, a noise suddenly came from ahead. Lu Yuan quickly raised his right hand, signaling everyone to stop.
