One of the tall, thin, and muscular men stood up, his eyes filled with arrogance as he stared intently at Qi Liang.
"Boss Qi, we don't like what you're saying. We have several hundred people, while they only have a dozen or so. What are you afraid of? We'll just raze their camp to the ground."
Anyway, he's already gone, and it won't take long for him to leave. We can get some water and food to go out and resupply. We brothers are all waiting for you to take charge; you can't just cower and ignore everything.”
Qi Liang stared intently at the burly man, who had always been at odds with him and was the second-in-command in the camp.
He has just unified the camp, and although he is the nominal leader, there are still many who do not obey his management, including the burly man in front of him.
"Cui Zhen, what the hell do you mean? You're saying I'm afraid of him? Humph, your provocation won't work on me. Don't even think about starting this trouble."
Qi Liang's eyes flashed with a fierce light: "Let me tell you, I'm in charge here now. You go stand aside and stay put. Don't cause any trouble. I have my own plans for this."
After saying that, Qi Liang stood up, dusted himself off, and went back to his room. But when he turned to the person next to him, he said, "Call Lao Qi and the others over later."
His assistant immediately understood his meaning and quietly left his room.
At this moment, Lu Yuan and his group continued to move forward against the cold wind. Although the wind was not as strong as at the entrance of the valley, the cold wind here was still like a knife.
"Damn it, the wind is stronger than before. Everyone, hold on tight to your chains and don't get separated."
Lu Yuan spat out a mouthful of saliva mixed with sand and shouted loudly at the people behind him.
Those who heard the words raised their hands and waved them in the air to indicate that they had heard.
After walking for a short while, Lu Yuan felt that his physical strength was almost exhausted. As he was in the lead, he had to withstand the greatest wind resistance and also play the role of leading the way.
His teammates didn't have the same stamina and endurance. So, in order to maintain their speed, he had to drag the people behind him along.
After walking for about half an hour, Lu Yuan raised his hand and glanced at the time. More than six hours had passed, and they were about ten kilometers away from the camp.
Looking back at the crowd behind him, Lu Yuan began to count the number of people.
Everyone moved closer to Lu Yuan, preparing to rest for a few minutes. To avoid being directly exposed to the cold wind, they all faced the camp with their backs to the wind.
Although it was quite dark throughout the night, some things could still be seen.
Lu Yuan squatted down and looked over there. Suddenly, he felt a faint flash of light from a flashlight not far behind them.
"Hey, what's that over there? It looks like someone with a flashlight is following us. Could it be another camp chasing us?" A look of doubt flashed across Xiwen's face as he pointed in the direction of the flashlight beam in the distance.
So everyone turned their attention to that direction, and Lu Yuan quickly picked up his night vision goggles and looked into the distance.
"Wait, why does it feel like there's only one person? Who is this? Why is he following me?"
Lu Yuan secretly guessed what was going on, glanced at the team members beside him, and decided to risk going to check it out.
"Wait here for me, and don't wander off. I'm going to go and see who this person is."
The others nodded in agreement. Lu Yuan unlocked the chains and ran towards the direction of the flashlight beam, following the wind. Because he was running with the wind, Lu Yuan ran very fast and arrived at the spot in no time.
Meanwhile, the flashlight in the distance was still shining faintly, occasionally illuminating the ground and then shining forward.
Suddenly sensing that someone was chasing them, they quickly turned off the flashlight.
The moment Lu Yuan saw the lights go out, he immediately chased after them like a cheetah. He really suspected that this person might be sent by Qi Liang to follow him and find out what he was up to.
Lu Yuan wasn't entirely at ease with Qi Liang. Although he seemed approachable and unassuming, in this apocalyptic world, the calmer someone was in the face of adversity, the more cautious Lu Yuan became, because they were often very cunning.
Lu Yuan quickened his pace and caught up, but the other person still seemed to be lying on the ground.
Lu Yuan slowly approached the other party with his footsteps, already holding a dagger in his hand, ready to kill the other party the moment he made a move.
Suddenly, the other person abruptly raised their head, and Lu Yuan immediately gripped the dagger in his hand. He ran towards the other person as fast as he could, but the other person's next move made Lu Yuan freeze in place.
The dark figure raised her hands high, exhaling white breath, her chest heaving, clearly having just expended a great deal of strength.
Then the other person turned on their flashlight, and a faint beam of light shone on the road.
"Who are you? Who sent you? Why are you following us?" Lu Yuan couldn't understand why the other party had sent someone to follow him.
In this temperature and environment, even if Lu Yuan were to walk alone, he would likely encounter danger.
However, the other party only sent one person to follow, so Lu Yuan also took out his powerful flashlight and shone it on the other party. When he shone it on a reflective strip, he was immediately stunned.
