Chapter 373 Loyal Big Yellow

So Lu Yuan checked the computer again. The files inside were full of obscure technical terms and special codes. Lu Yuan couldn't understand them even after looking at them for a long time, and the others also looked completely bewildered.

On the other side, in the western camp.

Several people returned to the camp under the stars and in the cold wind, their breath steaming in the air. There were more than ten people when they left, but only five or six returned.

"So? Any new discoveries?"

Upon seeing the newcomers, Qi Liang didn't ask why some people were missing. Instead, he was eager to know what Lu Yuan was doing: "Where did they go? Why did you come back early? Where are Lu Yuan and the others?"

The group was freezing, so they huddled around the fire for a while before slowly regaining their sense of temperature.

"It seems that Lu Yuan and the others went to the Rift Valley, but we couldn't follow them after they got there!"

One of them had lost several fingers, but showed no sign of pain: "They don't know how they got through. We couldn't follow them, so we had to turn back early. But judging from their equipment, we guessed they went to get ice!"

Qi Liang nodded thoughtfully: "It seems they've run out of water too. It looks like we're not the only ones facing this water shortage crisis!"

Then he said regretfully, "Sigh, why didn't I go with them? Now we're in big trouble. If Xiwen and Lu Yuan had come back, they might have been able to sell us some ice, otherwise we would have coughed ourselves to death! Notify the people below to halve the food rations again!"

On the other side of the fire, the firelight cast the shadows of several people, making them look somewhat gloomy.

Qi Liang led his men back to his room. Before the men who had just arrived could even sit down, they were pulled over.

Cui Zhen's face flushed slightly as he asked in a low voice, "You just said that Lu Yuan and the others have already crossed the Rift Valley?"

The other person trembled slightly at Cui Zhende's gaze and told the truth.

"That's great! Once they cross the rift, it will be impossible for them to come back in less than a few days!"

The long-dormant idea in Cui Zhen's mind resurfaced. He winked at the people around him, and immediately the group patted each other on the shoulder and silently followed Cui Zhen to another room.

Night had fallen, and the clouds in the sky were even thicker, but there was still no sign of snow.

After making a few pancakes, Grandma realized she was out of flour, so she got up to go find some.

Suddenly, Big Yellow outside the door perked up its ears alertly and stood up from beside the fire.

Grandpa sat at the doorway, holding a crossbow in his lap, dozing off.

"Woof woof woof!" Big Yellow suddenly rushed outside the door and barked a few times in a low voice.

Grandpa immediately opened his eyes, a flash of panic crossing his gaze.

So he quickly peeked through the crack in the door, but there was nothing outside except for the sandstorm.

"You bastard, you're barking again!"

Grandpa gently patted Big Yellow on the head to stop it from barking.

Big Yellow's eyes remained fixed on the door. It stopped barking and watched as Grandpa slowly left the doorway to find his pipe. It slowly stood up and used all its strength to pry the door open a crack.

Grandpa was stuffing his pipe into the pipe when he turned around but couldn't find Big Yellow anywhere. He cursed under his breath, "I don't know what's wrong with Big Yellow lately. He's been so suspicious for so long. They probably won't attack our camp, will they?"

After muttering something to himself, Grandpa sat down at the doorway with his crossbow to stand guard.

The night grew darker, but several figures slowly approached along the wall. I counted about twenty or thirty of them; they carried various weapons, shivering from the cold, but their eyes gleamed.

"Brother Cui, if we rush in like this, will Boss Qi really kick us out?" A thin man hid behind Cui Zhen and asked in a low voice.

"Hmph, what the hell are you afraid of? We're already out here, there's no turning back. I'll take down Qi Liang sooner or later! As long as we wipe out this whole family and take the grain back, when I become the boss, you guys will all be blessed!"

The others' eyes lit up with a glint of shrewdness, their faces beaming with joy. They wiped their frozen snot with their hands and grinned, letting out a sinister smile in the darkness.

Braving the cold wind, the group continued walking towards Lu Yuan's private cave. Suddenly, a yellow figure appeared out of nowhere and bit the neck of the person at the back of the group.

Before the other person could react, he felt as if his throat had been squeezed, and he couldn't make a sound at all. He frantically swung his arms and legs, trying to push the yellow monster away, but he couldn't do it at all.

All that could be heard was the gurgling sound of water coming from his neck, but in this bitterly cold night, no one noticed that someone had fallen behind.

Big Yellow bit the other's neck, paused for about half a minute, and then slowly released its grip.

Its once yellow fur was now covered in blood, but Big Yellow simply shook the blood from the corner of its mouth and continued walking towards their group.

Then came the second person, the third person, and so on until the seventh person. Cui Zhen, who was walking in front of him, felt something was wrong and suddenly turned his head to look.
